These boots look great on and I get so many compliments...but for the $ they should be a bit more comfortable. It's actually like walking on wood. No cushion at all. Very tight (which is a double edge sword...they're uncomfortable but stay up/no tugging at them all day). I generally wear 7.5 but wish I had gotten an 8. They run small. Can't really wear socks (other than compression socks) with them.

Love the boots. They look nice and fit my calf nicely (have small calves and never can find good fitting boots). The zipper is awful. I tried to find on the Frey site something to improve/loosen but nothing to see. This is the third time I have worn them and nothing helps. Would like some advice if Frey even reads these.

Loved the boot but can barely zip it up with nothing on, and can't zip it at all with jeans on. I am a size 2 and weigh 117 lbs. It's ridiculous that these are too small. I now see they have them in a wide version, but unfortunately the wide doesn't come in the gray I wanted - so back they go.

Bad zipper. Just like other reviews, It just will not go up easily. It is very difficult. I bought these for Christmas for my daughter and want to return them.

These boots are inconsistent. I ordered 2 sizes - the smaller ones were too small in the foot, but perfect in the height and circumfernce. The larger fit in the foot, but was big in the other directions, even though the description lists height and circumference as consistent. Also, the large size had a visibily darker leather at the toe than the small size, which did not appeal to me. The one thing that was consistent was that the back zipper is very difficult to get up and down. I really like the style, and it's very hard to find a knee-high boot for a petite person,so I'm sad to send both sizes back.

I bought these boots in black. While they are beautiful boots, there's several issues with them. They take forever to break in (much long than expected), gave me terrible blisters the first few times I wore them & the zipper still digs into my heal. The calf is extremely tight (I don't have large calves, so I order the regular size on-line) and the bottoms of the boot of very slippery on a lot of surfaces. Additionally, like many people mentioned, the zipper is difficult to get up and down. Overall, uncomfortable and more of a hassle than they should be.

2nd purchase first zipper broke after 4 th wear. You really need bto be strong, use gloves or something to get these things zipper up. My calves are slim. Love the style but very poor quality zipper

I bought this boot in black and everything is fantastic about this boot except the zipper. Had to sadly return b/c the zipper would not go up and down easily. On the left foot not at all. Kept getting stuck. Such a shame for a nice boot to have quality issues.

The left boot is defective and made my foot bleed. I know this because the right boot did not and was very comfortable. I will be returning the boots and asking for another pair and if those have the same issue I will ask for my money back.

Beautiful boot, but very uncomfortable! I wanted them so badly, but could barely get foot in them. I normally wear 8.5 and I ordered a 9. So sad I had to return!!!

I bought these 3 years ago, and have been trying to love them ever since. They're so good looking, and the calves are divine, but the soles and heels-ouch. Originally, I knew I couldn't return them because I had bled so much while breaking them in. 3 years later, I have blisters on my heels again because I've worn through the thin layer of leather at the back of the heel and into the plastic. I have various pieces inside covered in moleskin because the seams have gotten worse with age and rub. The foot bed is smaller than expected, and I never could stretch it out enough (forget running or anything that bends the shoe too much). The footbed isn't even that comfortable, but I can't put anything in to help because then my foot won't fit. Leather soles seem amazing, on paper, but I have had my Frye's resoled 3 times (once by Frye, twice by a local cobbler using rubber) because the inner leather layer is bad enough that the sole glue can't stick to the pieces. After writing this review and reminding myself of everything negative about these boots, I conclude that the only reasons I keep these shoes are because they cost a pretty penny and they're really cute.
