Super cool and fit like they were custom made. True to size, comfortable right out of the box, and snug on leg (I have average size calves) but not too tight with skinny jeans. New faves that I can wear for an 8 hr retail work day!

Beautiful boot. Love the distressed look. I am returning it because there is no grip on the bottom to prevent slipping and they are taller than I want. I am 5'6"and they are up to by kneecap.

I just purchased my second pair of this boot in the Grey Soft Vintage Leather. I'd describe this color as 'greige'. Its the ultimate neutral, not too warm and not too cool. It would match both black and brown clothing, which is amazing and versatile. These boots fit more snug than other Frye boots do, but makes them look sleek and not bulky (the Melissa Button makes my feet and legs look huge in comparison). A bit more narrow in the foot and slim against the calves. The leather is gorgeous. I've seen so many complaints about the zipper on here but it truly does just take a few passes before it starts gliding smoothly - so give it a chance! Overall, this is my new favorite boot and I plan to own in many colors!

I'm very happy with these boots. They work with jeans and shirts. Very comfortable to walk in easy on and off. Great quality leather and craftsmanship. Good price as they are very well made. Classic Frye style.

This is the most beautiful boot. Extraordinary color and fit. Excellent for city wear - summer, winter, spring and fall.

First, the boot. Fits true to size with a thin sock. If you want to wear thick socks, I think you need to order up a full size. The style is great. Frye makes a great boot but I agree with others that the zipper is tricky. Now, let me commend Zappos service. The first pair I purchased had a zipper that would not zip up easily. I sent them back. 2nd pair zipped but the color was off. 3rd pair zipped but I was unsure of antique color so I ordered a 4th pair. 4th pair was too red in color and the zipper was defective. I sent that pair back and kept the 3rd pair. Zappos quickly credited my card and I'm a happy customer. No one beats Zappos in terms of customer service!

For all of you out there who love these boots but feel they are snug in the calf - just order the antique style. I tried the others, they zipped but were too snug in the calf. I also did not like the wrinkled leather in the calf. Then I ordered the black antiqued ones and fell in love. Yes, they have a worn look but I like that. They have a nice unwrinkled calf and are a good ½" or so bigger in the calf which makes them perfect for me. The zipper was a problem for me at first, could not even zip them up when off. I had my husband zip them up and down 10 times or so and that did the trick. I do not think he would have been so helpful had he known how much I paid for them! They are very comfortable on my problem feet after wearing them around the house for 20 minutes or so. They soften up quickly. I ordered my regular size. I love them!

Oh Frye boots....how do I love thee! My heart was broken by the Vanessa tall boot with a heel that was just too high for me. Then I tried on this boot and my heart lifted. I do wish there was heel that was about 2 inches but these boots do make my feet happy! And that makes me happy?

I've tried many boots. These Frye boots are beautiful. My feet are wide, so I bought one size larger and they're great. I'm 5'8" with athletic calves and the shaft is perfect. I love the quality of Frye.

Like some of the other reviews, the zipper is hard to zip up over the heel, but once you get it started it goes up easily. Fit perfect from the start. There is no arch support in any of the Frye items, but I wear an orthotic, so this is not a problem. The orthotic fit perfectly in the boot.

Love the boot. Wasn't crazy about the color. It looks more like a dull grey. Nothing like the photo. I am returning it.

If you are looking for great looking and comfortable boots, buy these! I own two pairs and wear one or the other everywhere I go. They look even better as they age and if you store them properly (and oil the leather every so often) they will last years. I've had the distressed cognac pair for 3 yrs and I bought the gray 2 years ago and they are more comfortable the longer they're used. For reference, I am 5'3", and range between 135-145 on average. My legs are shorter so I have always had trouble finding boots to for my calf that didn't end up hitting on my knee. I also have a very high arch. These are perfect! Note: ladies that have trouble getting the boots zipped over a larger calf- don't give up! When I first received them I could barely get the zipper up and it felt like my legs were going to go numb...very tight. However after wearing them around the house for a bit the leather started to stretch. Now they zip over my jeans with no trouble whatsoever. Same thing with the footbed. Very snug to start but will conform to your feet. These boots are made with very thick, high quality leather and they will break in and feel like a dream with a little wear To those who had trouble with the zippers. Frye uses a very heavy duty zipper so it will last a long time. The zip gets stuck sometimes but you just have to work with it. If the zipper had smaller teeth and slid more easily, it would more than likely break or pull apart after little use. These boots are gorgeous, will last a very long time and they're comfortable! If you're considering a pair, don't hesitate!

Beautiful boots! I am so pleased with this purchase. I have gotten lots of compliments on them. The leather is soft and supple...gorgeous color, too.

I love these boots. They are true to size but since they have the strap across the front were a little challenging to slip into but now that they are broken in are perfect. My only complaint would be the break in period. The back of my foot would get worn (would have to use a band aid) because they were tight but again they are fine now that they are broken in.

Love these Frye boots! Comfortable. Sturdy. Easy to get on. I ordered a size bigger than i usually wear because I have trouble getting my other Frye boots on. The zipper makes these especially easy.

Love these boots, but ultimately purchased the Melissa harness inside Zip. I wanted a smoother, structured boot shaft that was similar to my campus boots. The Melissa's are dressier, so I'll probably pick up a pair of the Phillip harness at some point. I preferred the dark brown over the cognac color. The dark brown is unique and really pretty.

Love these in burnt red. I wear a 9 in shoes but all of my Fryes are 9 1/2. I have long skinny feet. I usually add an innersole to make a perfect custom fit. My only reservation with these is the fit in the calf. They are a tiny bit snug with my skinny jeans. Will they stretch? Who knows. I may return for that reason but for now I am ogling them.

Where have these boots been all my life? Oh my goodness these are beautiful. I love Frye and have so many boot styles and ballet flats. My feet always feel so good in Fryes. I have never regretted the money spent. I can no longer wear my campus boots with heel after knee surgery. That was one of my hardest moments to acknowledge. In my quest for fashionable flats I ordered these boots. They are much better that I expected. They are just gorgeous. I actually would have worn these in my "heels days." I'm going to order another pair to two as I mourn my campus boots passing. I wasn't sure about the back sip, but they are so much easier than the pull on style like Melissa button. I'm hooked. Don't wait...get these beauties. I bought my normal size 9 in Fryes which are a good kind of roomy.
