Crissie’s Keen’s - This is my second pair of Keen’s. I have worn the first pair for 3 years now. They have been washed many, many times and they still look good. I was a little disappointed with the Arroyo II. The lace cord does not work as well as my other pair. I can not get the heel area as tight as I would like, therefore they slip up and down. I did not have to "break in" this pair as I did my first pair. They feel true to size. I plan to purchase more Keen’s in the future.

Nice Shoe, But Heel Slips - This is a sturdy shoe and I had high hopes for it as I was looking for a sandal hybrid with a bit of motion control. That aspect is good. But I found that the heel was very wide in back and my heel kept slipping out of the back and making a noise. I was afraid it would cause a blister, so I ordered a half size smaller--the slipping was slightly better but still too much. I considered buying those heel inserts to take up the slack, but I have not had good luck with them. They tend to come unglued. So, sadly, I had to return both pairs. My mother tried them on and her heel slipped right out of them, too. It's like the heel area is not shaped well or something. Too wide in the heel. I did think they seemed a bit narrower than other Keens in the toe area though (although still wider than many brands). I usually buy Keens a half size larger, but these seemed possibly truer to size than other Keens.

Progressive and Fresh - Robust foot-bed is ready to ascend even the most demanding trail and chic little toe cap assists the descent. The straps are unbelievably reflective. Mastering the draw-cord lacing is somewhat challenging, but the shoe is much more comfortable if you can keep the mid shoe snug against the arch. Also, I wasn't sure if I should wear socks with the shoe because of the vents. With trial and error, I discovered that you must wear socks with the shoe if you are doing anything athletic but for running errands wearing no socks keep the feet cool.

Great Versatile Shoe - I have hiked and gone in the water with these shoes. Only complaint is the strap by tongue strap was not sewn in properly and broke my first wear. Obviously I couldn’t return them because I had already worn them outside. I would inspect for minor details like this before going out.

Keen Arroyo 11 - The only drawback with this shoe is that I can't keep the toggle lace snug, like my other Keens.

Taos II...better than Taos I? I'm a big fan of Keen shoes...each member of my family owns a pair. They're durable, look great and have EXCELLENT arch support. I bought my original pair after recovering from heel spur surgery. I wanted an outdoor shoe that had enough support that I wouldn't have to wear my orthotics. Keens did exactly that. I recently purchased the Taos II and am very happy with them...able to wear them immediately with no break-in period, no heel rubbing, etc. There are only two drawbacks to the Taos II: they don't have the bungee-cord drawstring (rather, a round shoelace-type drawstring) that I so loved about my old Taos' (although they seem to function just as well if not better) and the higher price than the Taos I. Either pair is EXCELLENT but I think that to save a few dollars, I'd probably just buy the Taos I.

I love Keen shoes! But this one didn't work out. I expected the "tie" which cinches up the sandal to be more like the stretchy type of cord in the Newport H2's, of which I own 3 pair. Be cautioned: The Arroyo cord/tie is not stretchy at all. I kept pulling and trying to get these to fit right...was not happening. I confirmed this with Zappos pro's: That's just how the sandal is equipped. Bless Zappos for letting me return these because the fit just isn't as comfortable and giving as the Newport's with their stretchy cord/tie.

These shoes run really big. I wear a size 8 and usually order a size 9 for athletic footwear to give my feet room to expand. The size 9 was like clown shoes on me. I have a pair of Keens Whisper in size 9 and those are true to size. The arch support in these shoes is excellent and the tops come up high enough to give a bit of ankle support. These shoes feel quite warm. Even just standing in them for a couple of minutes with no socks on my feet started to feel hot which is not what you want with shoes that you are going to be walking a lot in. The leather is rough feeling and I do not think that it would be comfortable to walk in these without socks. I wanted something with more support then my Whispers for long trail walks and these are that. But they are also fairly heavy and not very flexible and did I say they are hot? I am kind of on the fence as to whether I want to try a smaller size or just give up on them.

The laces are not the typical stretchy laces that most Keen shoes come with and the holder slips after walking a little bit loosening the laces.

I wanted to like this shoe, I really did. I have a pair of Keen Mary Janes, and another pair of Keen boots, and thought a Keen hiking sandal would be great. The fit was weird, and the stitching felt awful on my feet.

Good soles - The shoe is great except for two things. The heel slips even with extra pads. The other is pressure on the side of the foot below the little toes even with multiple adjustments, like socks verses no socks. Was disappointed because the bottoms of your feet are so happy with this style.

I bought this sandal this month and received them promply. However, I found them to be bulky and heavy as well as ugly. The soles are ungiving. Tried walking in them, but I felt I was being held back by the bulkiness and heaviness of the shoe. not comfortable at all.

I prefer a more natural material, but all in all this is a very comfortable sandal, and I like that it can go in water or on a trail, unlike my Birkenstocks. I would also prefer some color choices, but the fact that it has a removable foot pad overrode the color issue, because I am able to insert my new foot supports in these sandals.

I bought these shoes to replace a 16 year-old identical (except for color) pair of Keens. I didn't care what color the new pair would be; I only wanted them to be exactly like my previous pair which are supremely comfortable but not as worn down. It took a long time for even the bottom to show signs of wear! I am beyond pleased with this purchase. The brown color is great! They are so comfortable I wore them all day long the day after they arrived at my home. Since my original purchase of my previous pair, I find that my two bunions and two hammer toes have become more obvious, and I was worried that these wonderful shoes would rub on those areas. The shoes did not rub or leave a red mark on my foot if I wore them only for about 3 hours without socks. I then wore them for that full day with a pair of thin socks; therefore, no chance of rubbing. I'm over 75 years old and am currently working as a substitute teacher. Being on my feet all day means I need comfortable shoes. These Keens are also my go-to shoes for working out or, if needed, physical therapy because they are so easy to put on and take off. And so comfortable!

Probably a 1/2 size too large, although I went with a sandal size from about 2 years ago.

I love them. They are replacing an identical Keen style, though in a different color, that is deteriorating after 20 years of use. I didn't care about the color because they are so comfortable. I wear them as sandals or "tennis" shoes. I love that I can just throw them on and get ready quickly. At first I thought I'd have to return them because I couldn't tighten the slide on the laces. I've since worked that out and am thrilled that I get to keep them.

I love Keen and own several pairs of Keen. This review is for the Keen Arroyo II. I own a pair of these that are about seven years old. They are a great blue/gray color, which I like so much better than the Chocolate/green, but my older shoes won't last forever so I wanted to get these before they discontinue this style. I will say, once I received the Chocolate, it was a nice dark, rich brown, so I was fine with the color. The shoe/sandal is so versatile and it is still a Keen shoe that actually has pretty good support. I will let you know that I am NOT a hiker. I use my Keen's to take my dog on long walks and to ride my bike. I also like wearing Keen's to art fairs as they are so comfortable and I like to toe guard. So, I am happy that I purchased these and they are still a quality Keen shoes. As with so many shoe manufacturer's, the quality is going down in brands I have loved for years. So disappointing to love a brand, own shoes for years, buy a replacement to find the quality has declined greatly. I bring this up because I can see this happening with Keen too - in some of their shoes/sandals. But, as I said, the Arroyo II was still the same as my older ones. Thanks Zappo's!

I love Keen Arroyos! This is at least my 6th or 7th pair. I have always ordered a 7.5. In fact I still have the pair I’m retiring and it’s predecessor (that I use out in the garden)& they are both 7.5s. I ordered a new pair for an upcoming hiking vacation in 7.5 and they were too small. I reordered an 8 & they fit perfectly. Zappos’ shipping is amazingly fast!

This sandal was a life saver for me last summer after an ankle injury. I needed a rigid sole and a sandal in which I could use a 3/4 orthotic without it falling out the back. It met both of these requirements and was comfortable out of the box. I hope to wear them for a long time. I will be ordering the Targhee II mid for hiking. It looks like they have the same sole so hopefully they'll work as well for me.

Love this shoe, but keen needs to make a wide size for me. All they have is normal width. Their shoes are wider than just normal width, but they are not a wide.

Like everything these days, size is subjective. In Keen I wear 8.5-9.5 depending on the shoe. It's a must try to figure it out. Thanks to Zappos I can do that!

Very comfortable right out of the box. Having foot issues and these are the most comfortable Keens I've had on my feet (all my shoes are Keens).

This is my second pair of the same exact shoe. I finally had to replace the old ones because the shoe lace wore out-I had them for almost four years. I basically wear this shoe every day-can be used for hiking, walking, and just being on my feet all day long (in my house on tile floors). Also, they give me a nice "lift" (I'm 5'7") but the lift is a posture thing that makes me look taller and straighter (as opposed to a flat shoe). It's not a high heel, but a nice lift. Also, excellent arch support. An excellent show for traveling abroad on rocky or cobblestone streets, plus easy to get on and off at the airport and airplane for long flights. Never feel like I have to just take them off after a long day. I also own several other pairs of Keens and these are my go-to show. Keens are the best!

After reading some of the reviews stating they ran a little big, I decided to order my true shoe size and they fit perfect. I was going to go a 1/2 size bigger, but glad I did not. Reminder when you order shoes (especially hiking boots) you need to take into consideration the thickness of socks you plan to wear with them. If very thick, then think about going 1/2 size bigger. I learned that one time from a vendor and they were great in handling a free exchange for me.
