My husband is an avid Brooks wearer for casual everyday and for competitive training. He was absolutely blown away with these shoes! The cushion and curve of this shoe is superior for running and everyday wear. Theyre very lightweight and the fabric was breathable and airy. One of the top features my husband loved was the shoelaces. Theyre designed in a unique way to wear the fabric catches and keeps the laces from coming untied. Overall this shoe was fantastic and theres nothing that needs changed.
My husband would not recommend these shoes for trail running. Theyre also not the best for single leg balancing activities.

The Hyperion Max 2 are very soft and bouncy and look great. I would say they run slightly small, but on the wider side. I usually wear a 10 wide and got an 11 and they fit perfectly, with plenty of width in the toe box. I dont usually wear a plush running shoe with a sole this thick, so it took some getting used to but now they are my most worn. Great on my joints and feet and while Im not an avid runner, they give me the comfort and support to want to run more often. The color way adds some color without being too loud and the fabric feels durable. These are my first pair of brooks, but I will definitely buy more when the time comes.

I've had the chance to take these out for a couple longer runs (14 and 16 miles so far) and am very happy with them. The fit is so welcoming to slide my foot into. The structure back with the slight flare out makes them slide on easily, the fit is true to size, the tongue practically disappears, and I really appreciate the kinda grooved laces that Brooks used which help everything stay secure. The whole upper is very breathable, which is greatly appreciated in the hot summer running. These shoes have a lot of cushioning but they are surprisingly springy. I mixed in some strides into my long run and was really surprised how good it felt to get moving faster in these. These will be my go-to for long runs, but I'm likely to use them on some longer speed workouts as well.

Not what I expected. stack height seems higher than 36 but I love it. Not firm, but not soft, this is the shoe that I've been looking for.

Very pleasantly surprised by this shoe. Upper fits fantastic and is very comfortable. The tongue and lacing may be some of the best Ive experienced in a running shoe. Midsole delivers a very bouncy and poppy ride that makes this shoe very fun to run in. Outsole provides fantastic grip on slippery roads. This is my first Brooks shoe and Im very impressed.

Good but hope the third version of this shoe is better than this decent-shoe for long-distance running.

My go to shoe. I purchased this exclusively as a running shoe and didn't realize how much energy return I would actually get from these shoes. Each step is so firm yet bouncy and after a fast paced 5k and 10k it feels like I just started my run. I don't feel like I have to stretch as much or have the same impact on my joints when running for 2 hours or rest for a long time either. I have ran at least 30 miles in it and after about mile 20 it feels even better, the fit the bounce and the propulsion you get.
The laces are nice and I can slide right into the shoe and wear it for longer periods of time. The only problem I have with them is that after a while, my right foot starts to swell and the inside of my foot starts to rub on the foam which is extremely uncomfortable but this is usually past the 2 hour mark within a run. It's a problem with most shoes I try on though.
Still would recommend for anything under half marathon distance and if you wanna go fast.

Dont mistake this shoe for a max stack cushy cruiser. This shoes shines when you pick up the pace. Step in feel is nice and comfortable and fit is pretty good overall.

These shoe are good but not great. I was hoping for a softer ride. My mistake for thinking 'max' meant more cushion. The foam in these shoes are on the stiffer side. Still looking for a Brooks shoe that is soft like the New Balance More V5, and/or 1080 v13 or 14.

Good shoe on initial 100 miles, it does seem (for me) to 'bottom out' after 10K of distance - overall, a good and comfortable sneaker with good level of responsiveness and road feel, but won't carry me for longer distances.

I enjoyed these shoes on tempo runs. They are a great stability version of a tempo shoe with the right amount of stability and pop. I also did a handful of 20 mile runs between the 2 pairs I purchased. The firmness of the midsole and thinness of the tongue made these harsh on my joints and gave me lace bite. The shoe had good breathability and comfort in the heel collar. I wish the Hyperion Elite would adopt the heel collar from this shoe. It's a good tempo shoe for the last hard run before a marathon and the first one after.

Great distance trainer and I'm on my 3rd pair in the Illusion color. Comfortable, light, solid fit out of the box, great upper and lacing pattern, and they last about 300-350 miles before the sole starts to give up the ghost. I would honestly give this shoe 5 stars all day long but...the color options are soooo incredibly blah. Hey Brooks! Save the conservative, dingy colors for the other lines but light up the Hyperions. All of them. This is your performance line and they need to look the part! (The Brooks text graphic on the arch side is a nice touch, and the Elite PBs are a step in the right direction.)

It is an OK shoe, but inferior to the Mach 6. Given the price, I would not recommend.

Super bummed about these. I've been wearing Hyperion Max for a few years now and they phased them out so I thought these would be a good replacement but shoe laces and toe box are a lot different and running in them is super uncomfortable with a weird landing I'm assuming because of the plate. Please bring back the Hyperion Max!

I was excited to see the Hyperion Max 2 released as I was looking for a shoe to race my first marathon, having raced three half marathons in the original Maxs. Unfortunately, I will not be racing in this shoe. Firstly, why, just why Brooks, have you added so much weight!? This just seems crazy to me and almost a deal breaker for racing longer distances by itself. What is this shoe trying to be? My new size 15s are 3.4oz heavier than the original max, that's a 35% increase in weight!!! Although a better quality material, the upper is also much more rigid, meaning that there is more chance of a more uncomfortable ride, particularly on the inside of the big toe area, which I've experienced. I'm not sure if its the rocker (the plate does not act as a carbon plate at all) but this shoe also aggravates the area under my big toe, almost towards the inside arch. I have about 8 pairs of brooks in my current rotation (all size 15) and don't have this issue with any other model. Finally, and yes I'm bitter here, why does the Hyperion Elite (a lighter shoe) only go to size 13?! Almost all your competitors' super shoes go up to 14, some 15 (vaporfly, endorphin pro, etc.) Unfortunately I won't be racing in Brooks for the foreseeable future which I am gutted about, with it being my favorite shoe brand :(

I had a terrible experience with this shoe. I've worn Brooks in the past and very much enjoyed them. This shoe after a single 5 mile run left my ankle swollen and sore for 2 weeks. It's likely a good shoe, just not the right fit for my foot.
