I have 3 different Max shoes from Brooks (Ghost Max 2, Hyperion Max 2, and Glycerin Max.) They are all great in their own ways. I'm 40, 6'2 220. I still have very healthy joints luckily and I want to keep em that way. For trail shoes I like a lot less cushion, but on the tredmill and pavement these shoes are a game changer! I use the Hyperion Max 2 for anything 1/2 marathon and under. They have a great mix of plenty of cushion to lessen the aches and pains of running on pavement, but still feel like you can turn on the jets when you want speed.

Absolutely love the shoe. Light weight, sturdy strike each step, and they propel you through the air. I've already PR'd a 5k and 10k within the first week.

Like these shoes right out of the box. I'll use them primarily for raciing, However they have been a hard not to pick for intervals and tempo runs.

Most comfortable shoe I've had in a long time! Plenty of room for toes and lots of heal cushion.

I ran a 10k race with the Hyperion Max 2 right out of the box and was very happy with their performance and fit. All in all an excellent road shoe.

My new favorite shoe. I've owned Hoka's and On's these are by far the best running shoes I've owned. Extremely comfortable and my feet don't ache after running Marathons. You won't be disappointed with this shoe and your feet will thank you later.

Fit true to size. The tongue is perfect, almost; snug but not too tight, and ad if the laces are just there for normalcy but not really needed to secure the fit! This has a bit more foam underfoot but it doesn't feel like you're wearing a "max" shoe. Great responsiveness and pop from the plate but without any downside of carbon and Achilles/calf strain. The heal is and forefoot is a more soft while maintaining responsivenessthis is the major perceived difference from the original, but I like it. Overall, a great shoe that can be used for a long Zone 2 run, tempo workouts and racing a marathon. Great grip on the dry and sandy roads so far and no heat issues. Haven't rain in the cold yet.

It's nearly perfect. The upper is snug & breathable but still feels durable. It foam is firmer than the modern trend of running foams, but it is responsible and comfortable without feeling dead under foot. I often feel like the Brooks offerings have been developed more as athleisure accessory than a competitive running shoe option. That is totally not the case here. I am actually excited about the future of Brooks if more shoes take strides like this one. Pun intended.

Firm midsole that softens during longer runs. Does everything. Speed vault and midsole provide support. Feet feel comfy and protected. My next (4 hr) marathon shoe.

Very light shoes, I like to have little more cushion and slight wider toe box.

This is my first time running with Hyperion Max 2 shoes, and it is taking me awhile to get used to them. They seem to lean me forward a bit, meaning I feel like I'm landing a little more forward on my foot, which is OK> they are nice and light, feel great when I run hard up hills, and overall feel good when I want to go out and run fast. A good 5K road race shoe. So far so good.

These shoes have done me more than what I expected and continue to amaze me. I got them for my birthday last year and have loved them. They are firm yet the right amount of soft. I can feel the light push from the plate and it works perfect with the DNA Flash V2 foam in my opinion. Got my eyes out for the Hyperion Max 3 coming up.

This shoe looks great but it makes my feet overpronate quite a bit. Although that's partly because I have flat feet, other shoes wouldn't usually do this. The lateral soles seem to be higher than the medial soles.

The Hyperion Max 2 is undoubtedly one of the best pairs of shoes Ive ever owned. They noticeably improve cadence, and after some adaptation, I saw about a 10% increase in my average speed during my fastest workouts. However, Im not entirely confident in their long-term durability, so Im being mindful of mileage to ensure theyre in top condition for upcoming races. In terms of comfort, they excelparticularly around the heel, where I usually experience issues with other shoes. One standout feature is the shoelaces, which I think are among the best Brooks has ever designed.

These are truly the best running shoe I have owned. I have tendonosis in both knees and needed some cushion. I usually run on a less cushioned shoe because I liked the connection to the ground. These shoes have exceeded my expectations. Fast, cushioned and comfortable. I would buy these in every color.

Very good daily shoe. I run everyday and have been wearing these for 1 month. Over the years. I have run in many racing/marathon shoes, and as a mature runner (47) the cushion on these is excellent, resulting in no joint or other pain in by body. The only discomfort (reason for 4 instead of 5 stars) is a pressure/pain across the top/tongue of the shoe. Even after loosening the laces, it cuts circulation across the top of the foot, making longer runs difficult. I didn't experience this problem with the Hyperion Max (first version) nor with other brands (Nike Alpha Fly Zoom). I'm going to switch to try the Hyperion Elites next to see if there is improvement in this aspect of the fit, as the overall shoe is very well suited to daily running. Also, I have found that the wear on my strike point on these shoes is longer/better than previous versions and comparative shoes.

Great distance trainer and I'm on my 3rd pair in the Illusion color. Comfortable, light, solid fit out of the box, great upper and lacing pattern, and they last about 300-350 miles before the sole starts to give up the ghost. I would honestly give this shoe 5 stars all day long but...the color options are soooo incredibly blah. Hey Brooks! Save the conservative, dingy colors for the other lines but light up the Hyperions. All of them. This is your performance line and they need to look the part! (The Brooks text graphic on the arch side is a nice touch, and the Elite PBs are a step in the right direction.)

I am back to Brooks after trying other brands due to knee pains caused by Glycerine shoes. Very comfortable, no more bunions or knee pains with this brand. My speed has improved, and this brand has high potential to compete with Hoka because it has ample cushion and is curved for running.
