I've been wearing Ghosts for 10+ years, and this version is the first one to disappoint. They're not terrible, but they feel cheap, stiff, and uncomfortable compared to my old Ghosts. The old insoles had great cushion and spring, and these feel like they're made out of cardboard. The toe box is also narrower. I've been wearing them for several months without any major problems/injuries, but I'll be looking elsewhere for my next running shoe purchase unless Brooks brings back the previous level of quality.

I LOVED the Ghost 15 but the 16's give me a blister on my left arch. I've tried different socks, body glide etc. and around 5k I start feeling it. I love the 12mm drop of the Ghost. I'm so bummed that this version of the Ghost just isn't going to work for me.

Disappointed in the Ghost 16, they were too cushiony and my feet were aching wearing them around the house. I have the Ghost 14 and love them. Just the right amount of cushion and stability.

Why did you change a good design? Foot bed is now uncomfortable and it feels like it is made out of cheap material.

I have worn Brooks Ghost forever and this is the first time I've felt the shoes needed a break in period and even that didn't help. They are much stiffer than previous models and I can't wear them around the block without pain.

What have they done to my favorite shoe?? I've had Ghost shoes since the 10 and loved them The 16 is awful! I just bought two new pairs for myself and my boyfriend. We are both complaining about the bottom of our feet hurting, and I mentioned it to a friend and found she had the same experience too. I guess I need to find some 15s before they sell out. I won't be wearing my new 16s for sure!

I've been using the Brooks Ghost as an every day trainer (and often a race shoe) since the 9's. And I have generally loved the updates Brooks has made to them over time. But I will say, the 16's ruined them for me. The toe box is so much less voluminous than previous models: every run, they rub the big toe side of my foot, and any run over 10 miles is producing blisters regardless of my pace, socks, or elevation gain (I have other shoes that don't do this, so I know it's not my gait). They also just feel so heavy and less responsive to the ground than previous iterations (could be the foam or how the foam sits in the sole?). And it doesn't get any better as they wear in - I had the same problems at mile 1 than I did at mile 400 (I waited awhile to write this review, hoping it was a "breaking in" period - they got the two star rating in part for the consistency of being able to wear them right out of the box). I definitely won't buy another pair of the 16's, and I don't know if I'll try the 17's.

I have been wearing Ghosts for the past 6 years, but after this new model, I'm finding a new pair of road shoes. The previous Ghosts were a truly neutral shoe the perfect medium between cushy and minimalistic. They were flexible and responsive to the ground and had a nice wide toe box. Relatively low drop too. The 16s have a much chunkier heel, feel clunkier and less responsive, and have a very narrow toe. After 3 runs, my big toes hurt from being pinched and I had twinges in my knees (I never get knee pain). If you like a chunky shoe and a narrow toe box, these might work for you. I sent these back.

Where are the fun colors like the previous Ghosts? I need a new pair, but haven't bought these due to the disappointing boring colors. Where is teal, turquoise, emerald green, hot pink, black fun color combos???

I have been using ghost series shoes for the last seven or so years. I usually buy 3-4 pairs a year. I am disappointed with the 16s. I wish I could return and get my 15s back. I'm not sure exactly what they changed, but I don't like . I feel that they fit smaller than all of the other pairs I have owned.

Please bring back the Ghost 15 design. The 16 just isn't as good. My little toe rubs and it tends to make me pronate when the previous Ghosts did neither.

I was hoping to replace my Ghost 15 sneakers but this hurt the arch in my right foot so have to send them back.

This version of ghost is my least favorite as the tongue of the shoe is poorly designed. It kind of folds a bit under the laces and presses in to the top of my foot. It's not as comfortable.

Little dissatisfied as I bought for my nurse wife. Bought couple months before an anniversary present, gave them to her, but after trying them for a few 12 hour shifts reluctantly told me I bought the wrong model . Wish this model performed better for long shifts. I figure half my fault for getting wrong model of the shoe, and half Brooks for the shoe not performing better.

I am returning the Ghost 16 that i ordered. I have had Brooks Ghosts for several years, the 13, 14, and 15, and always very satisfied, but he 16th was about 1/4 inch shorter than my Ghost 15 which made them too uncomfortable. The cushioning and support is what has kept me coming back, but they are too expensive to keep and try to make them work. Too short for comfort.

I've had ghost before and loved them but this time they are pretty uncomfy. Toe box caved in around my big toe and was constantly rubbing. Luckily I can still return and buy the adrenalines (which I LOVE)

The Ghost 16 women's is like the "Wish" version of the 14 and 15 (which I loved). Even though I ordered up a half size based on reviews, they pinched the top of my big toes all day long. I have a very narrow foot and have never had this trouble with a shoe before. The material feels cheaper and overall I'm super disappointed because the ghosts have been my favorite for the last few years and now I'm not sure what shoe I'll wear everyday at my fast paced job. Plus I had a hard time getting behind the colors.

It has been a minute since I've purchased the Ghost sneakers and I think the last time I had it was the Ghost 14. I found these to be less comfortable than I remember. Specifically in the back of the sneaker at the ankle really dug in and caused a lot of friction while running. I ended up having to return these because I was starting to get a significant amount of irritation that I was worried about becoming a blister in that area.

These sneakers were wider than the earlier Ghost sneakers, and the the toe box was wider. Also, there was less cushioning at the heel. I have a skinny heel and my feet kept sliding around.
I'd also recommend:
Earlier Ghost models such as 14 and 15.

I'm a runner. I've been wearing Ghost 15s which have been amazing and kept me injury free. Unfortunately the first time I ran in the 16's I felt a blister start. I don't get blisters. I thought maybe my sock wasn't on just right. I wore my old 15s for the next week and tried again. Unfortunately it started again. The front soles appear to be softer than the 15s. Brooks customer service is great!

I had to return. I've loved my Ghost 15 and ran full marathons with them but the Ghost 16 hurt my the ball of my foot each time I wore them on short runs. After running in them 3x for less than 30 min they had to go back. I stocked up on Ghost 15 cause the 16's aren't working for me

I have been wearing Ghosts for years, but the 16 was unwearable because of the low toebox height. :(

I have been buying Brooks Ghost for many years and am usually satisfied. The new version, the 16 is a disappointment. I ordered a wide and they were very tight with short laces. Also the quality inside one of the shoes was poor. There were sharp bits sticking out of the inside that were painful! I hope this is just a quality control problem and will try a different pair before I give up on Brooks.

I loved my Ghost 15s. It was my go-to sneaker. I was due to buy a new pair, only to find they discontinued them and replaced them with Ghost 16. Firstly, the design makes them look and feel cheap. Second, they do not fit the same. I never needed a break in time with my 15s but these feel very stiff and uncomfortable. It's really disappointing and frustrating because I'm having issues with my upper back/shoulders and neck due to the shoes not having the same feel as my 15s.
