Replaced my Hoka Bondi X's with the Skyward X's. These are definitely springy and I get the cloud-like talk. I've only walked around in them a few times and ran in them once, but I feel like they may run a little small. The Bondi X's fit perfectly at an 8.5 - the Skyward X's - I feel like I may need to bump up a half size? Maybe they'll loosen up a bit?

I did extensive research before purching the Skyward X. Having used 2 pairs of Gaviota's in the past, I was curious and went ahead with this purchase. I use the shoes for work where I clock anywhere between 10-25k steps a day, I move a lot all day and hence need something that won't let me feel that fatigue. So far, the Skyward X has been a blessing, but I feel like the toe box is a little narrow in that, my little toe gets pinched as the day goes by. Honestly, I have thought about returning them, but haven't done so yet because when its not pinching my toe, it feels amazing. Its like I walk on a cloud and am bouncing around, and flying through my work day.
I have started tying the laces not too tightly when I put them on to relieve the pinch on my little toe, something that I didn't have any issues with when I wore either variation of the Gaviota 5. Will see how it goes.

Te Skyward X is probably the most comfortable running shoe I ever ran in and I've been running foe 45 years. It's also the most expensive running shoe I ever ran in. How about it! It should not cost that much!

My family are big fans of Hoka shoes. We each have many pairs of the Hoka 8 and I have the leather non slip work shoes, as well.
I really like the feel and cushion of the Skyward X shoes, even more soft and springy than our Bondi 8. I love the upgrade. On opening the shoe boxes I noticed that one of the shoes in each pair of size 14 Skyward X had a broken carbon fiber spring. This looks like a tooling issue that should be investigated. I was hoping I wouldn't feel it, but I did notice a difference in the affected shoe. These are great shoes, but clearly there is an issue with the manufacturing of the carbon fiber, and it makes us hesitant to purchase her and our daughter a pair, even though they really want them. Now we all have doubts.
I hope that you will look into this and correct the issue so this doesn't spoil a good product line.
If you own a pair of these, take a second to inspect the two carbon fiber strips on the bottom. If there is a crack that you can feel with your finger, they are broken, and that carbon is not doing what it is advertised to do.
I have had one of the two pairs replaced, I need the second pair replaced. I had an ankle replacement 3 years ago, and Hokas were prescribed by my physician and my wife, a big fan for years. They make it possible for me to walk and work on my feet hours longer than without them. A real blessing. I recommend them to everyone who will listen. Great shoes so let's figure this out.

I really, really wanted these to work! But they were just to tight in the mid foot to use and caused pain. There isn't any bounce either, so I would wait for the mach x 2 to get fixed hopefully instead.

Love the bounce, which is what I expected and was not disappointed, but the colors leave a lot to be desired, so waited until black was released. However, black with neon orange laces was way too Halloweeny for me, so had to put in black laces, which really helped. Non-wide size would also be nice.

Very happy to see the new colors on offer, they are bright and vibrant. Shoes fit true-to-size and are comfortable. Had difficulty breaking them in, but after multiple 10+ mile runs they are reactive and very fun to wear! Long time Hoka wearer (Cliftons) would definitely recommend.

I supinate when I run and I buy neutral shoes so my feet rolls stable and flat when my feet hits midfoot to fore foot. There is to much rubber at the arch and it makes my ankle make a severe supination when I run. The outboard side of outsole rubber of the shoe is already worn out after 15 miles of running because it makes my feet supinate severely. Area around the arches of the feet is tight and required feet positioning when wearing it. Still a good cushion ride. The cushioning and the feedback from the foam is really good. Your feet will still feel fresh after a long mi run. I wish they had more cooler colors when it first came out I bought the white colorway I wish I bought the black one.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)

Transitioning from the Mach 5 was a bit challenging at first. The weight and form of the shoe made my calves tight after my first couple of runs. Aside from that, nice shoe for everyday runs.
Super comfy with the right amount of bounce for long runs.

Tried them on at retailer. Amazing. Been a bondi customer for the last 3 years through three pairs. I use them for walking. These are the bomb but the current color choices are a no go for me. Please some more mainstream colors soon!

I usually wear 10 Wide in the Clifton. I took a chance and ordered the regular width in these (no wide width) and they were too narrow (I returned them). True to size, seemed breathable, was stable for me, and the entire bottom sole is soft and feels even softer when running. It is a noticeably large shoe. I understand that it has to have a wide platform for stability but I feel the shoe does not have to be that large. I would like the same cushion on a Clifton sized shoe.

I love these shoes. But I won't buy them until there are better colors available. How a black option wasn't released along with the white is wild to me. I've tried them on. They feel amazing. But white and gray for actual runners is not going to work.

I use them to train, and over all a comfy sneaker I just personally need these in a wider variation, some discomfort for me due to a wide foot.

I've had knee pain for several years, so I limit my runs to shorter distances and only a couple of times a week. My first run with the new Skyward X felt like I was running on new legs, and I had no pain during or after the run. Before placing my order, I was a little concerned about the weight/bulk of these shoes, and I was pleasantly surprised at how light they were and how natural they felt on my feet. My only complaint is that although the white shoes look great, I normally prefer darker colors because I they better hide dirt and stains. I'll likely buy another pair when these run out, and hopefully more colors are available then. Wife also loves her pair in yellow.

So far so good. New shoe. Very Plush. If you are looking for a plush light shoe this is it. Left foot took off like I'd always wore them. Right foot not so much. Made 3 adjustments on a 10 mile run to adjust. With any shoe mostly you need to take time and do this. I think they run roughly a 1/2 size larger than Rocketx2, and Carbonx 2/3. They will make you roughly another inch taller aswell. I have roughly 45 miles on these.

I loved this shoe! I mean, it's soft, well cushioned, and it's definately a top-end performing shoe.
However, I have weak ankles due to a genetic condition, and every pair of Hoka's I've tried are too easy to roll in.
I've reached out with concrete ideas on how stabilise, but have not received any responses as yet.

I thought I was going to love these shoes, but I didn't. They're just too heavy, and the stack height bothers my achilles a bit. I think they would be great for a runner who is heavier than me and is looking for cushion with responsiveness, but if you're a lighter-weight runner like me, go with the Rocket X2.

initial impressions --
*very* plush, very springy. the exaggerated 'roll' takes a little getting used to -- much more apparent when walking than running.
some initial thoughts / observations --
(my only reference is my beloved bondis, so please bear this in mind.)
the toe box seems roomier (bordering on 'too big' for me, personally) than on the bondis
the tongues on the skyward 'float' -- there aren't those elastic-y straps inside (forgive my description) to keep the tongues from moving from side-to-side, (mine slide outward).
generally very comfortable in every way, but i will say that it feels like the foot sits higher up in the shoe than on the bondis. to be clear, i don't mean up off the ground, which of course they do because the height of the foam base of these is nuts -- i mean your foot doesn't sink into them as much as you might expect. i think i re-laced them several times when i took them out for an initial run, trying to get my foot to feel like it was squarely inside.

First time running in Hokas in a few years along with carbon plate shoe. Even though it has a high stack height it's very good for roads and not so good for some of the loose trails I run on daily. It feels less stable than lower shoes with better traction on trails. I'll keep use them for road only runs after the first 50 miles on mixed surfaces so far.
