So far, so good. 200lb runner, 30 miles a week, sub 22 5k. I have a pair of Nike carbon fiber race shoes, and I liked the idea of a carbon fiber shoe for longer/harder training runs, not just racing. The skyward is a great combo of cushioning and responsiveness, and so far, it's exactly what I'd hoped for. It leaves my feet feeling a little less battered after harder runs, and I think it will turn out to be a good injury-prevention shoe. It could be a little more stable, but all in all, I think Hoka nailed it. It's a bigger toebox than the Bondi (I take a 13w in Bondi), and the overall fit is just a little larger and more comfortable, more like the old Hokas. It seems light enough to race in, but I haven't tried that yet. Planning on getting another pair.

I am 71 years old and a runner who started late in life. I have been wearing Bondi's for years but nothing as great as the Skyward X. These are by far the most comfortable running shoes yet. What can I say. I'll leave you with...I honestly feel like I can fly!!! Love these!!

I'm 6'5" around 245 and I've been running in Clifton 9's most recently up to 10 miles at a go. These shoes are amazingly comfortable over the Clifton's for me and I won't be switching to something else probably ever. These shoes also somehow decreased my average mile pace by a minute so that's great too.

As a longtime fan of the Bondi line, I was excited to try these. With even more support, I expected even more comfort. Unfortunately for me, the added cushion resulted in less stability in my ankles. I could myself actively trying to maintain a proper step. I also found the size of the shoe to cause a greater chance of getting caught on uneven pavement, etc. Planning to send mine back.

I wore Bondis religiously for years, but decided to take a chance on the Skyward X. After 20 years in the Armyrunning daily at Bragg and Campbell and time spent in combatmy knees are pretty beat up, so I depend on truly plush shoes to keep me moving. These are hands down the best Hokas I've ever worn. The cushioning is incredible, and I honestly don't see myself wearing anything else going forward. My only gripe is the limited color optionsI'm hoping Hoka rolls out more next year. Still, these shoes are an easy five stars. If I could give them six, I would. The Skyward X is an outstanding shoe and a clear winner.

This is an outstanding shoe. One of my all time favorites. I have over 400 miles on my pair, including a 50k ultra. These are my go-to shoes for comfort and they're also able to cover a wide range of paces. Will definitely buy another pair when these bite the dust.

The combination of cushioning, responsiveness & support from this shoe's foam and carbon plate marriage is phenomenal! If you are looking for a cushioned ride with some gitty-up try the Skyward X. The build out of this shoe also does wonders for people with toe-issues. I have recommended it to many of my active and running patients who need some extra help around the metatarsal heads and toe joints. It has been a unanimous response from all these patients who state that the Skyward X absolutely takes pressure away from their toe issues.

I love the shoe. I'm on my second pair with the first pair giving me about 600+ miles. My only complaint is the color options. EVERY Hoka shoe should be offered in a black and white color scheme. I don't particularly care for the wild color options.

I've been an avid Hoka wearer for 6 years mainly the Bondi, but bought the Skyward X and I love them ! I have back & knee issues and can walk so much better with the extra cushion & support. Comfort in every stride !! Waiting on black so I can wear them to a work conference on my feet for 2 days !

I started getting compliments within 20 minutes of putting them on. The cashier at the market was so interested; especially when I told him how comfortable they are. Bought three more pairs for birthday presents. Bye bye Nike after 30 years I have a new favorite!

I am a Clydesdale runner and have run in Bondi's for many years. I was a bit skeptical at first about the Skyward X because of the weight and I had tried the Bondi X a few years back and really didn't like that shoe at all. The online reviews have all been very positive, so I bought a pair. Currently have 100km on them and really enjoy the shoe. Most of my runs are zone 2 and these are perfect for those runs. I am able to pick up the (relative) pace without feeling the weight. Feel that I need a different shoe for speedwork. Highly recommend the Skyward X - Hoka did a really nice job with this one!

The Skyward won me back on board the Hoka band wagon! I was off for quite a while due to the competition flat being more competitive. I'm a 250 pound marathon runner, yes that was an oxymoron, but this shoe is light and fast comfortable and very rejuvenating. The shoe is spacious but locks down so well it trampolines you forward yet saves your knees at the same time. My first run was a nice easy 8 miles and I could have done 5 more. Move over alphafly Hoka is passing you by!

I have wide feet, so I have to send mine back and I'm completely broken up about it. I absolutely love these shoes, they put the spring back in my step and make me feel young in a way I haven't felt in a long time; Truly an amazing experience. Now, even after having read what I wrote, there are some of you wondering to yourself "Why would he give a 5 star review to shoes he couldn't keep? That's dumb. Herkherkherk." And to you, fellow traveler, estranged though we may be: I submit that tis YOU who are the fool, while I (your guide come unwanted from the storms) will now bestow you with wisdom wrought words: My not having been able to keep these items should in no way mean they deserve to be looked down upon, or that their qualities are somehow lesser than if I had been able to keep them. It's just as absurd as taking price into consideration when assigning the star value of the item How many 1-star reviews have been written just because the item was too expensive? Because the item is unavailable in the reviewers region? Or my favorite: "Great product. Use it every day. Buuuuut It took too long to be magically delivered at my feet, so yeah, 1 star." All your doing is corrupting data and making companies think it doesn't matter to us if the product works or not, we just want it to be cheap and get to our houses as fast as it possibly can, which is why there thousands of products for every category and 80% of them are just garbage material in a nice box. I think therefore I am. Anyway, yeah: Amazing shoes, I absolutely loved the way they made me feel. Wow, what an Incredible experience. But they don't come in the size I need because I'm overweight and therefore need special wide shoes, which is entirely the companies fault and something they really need to work on before I could ever even remotely consider recommending these shoes. 1 star.

I love these shoes! I've been with Hoka for 8 years now and always preferred the Bondi shoes. Skyward X now are my go-to shoes for everyday - 30 miles / week. They're like Bondi's on steroids! More tongue padding similar to Bondi may be an aid. The carbon plate and 50 mm heel stack mean at 5'9" 125 lbs. I'll get almost 2k miles - Skyward X indeed - thank you Hoka - time to fly!

I have run in these shoes 3 times now. A first time 5K to get the feel, then a 10K tempo, then an 18k run and I have to say that my hips, legs, knees, and feet felt great after each run! The plushness mixed with the carbon plate create the ideal running sensation. I typically use the arahi for my training, but these are now my go-to. I cannot recommend these shoes strongly enough.

These shoes are insane. Perfect for that everyday long miles run. The toe box is wider than the Bondi, so you get a nice forefoot response and comfort. Really comfy cushion throughout impact zones, more than a Bondi, which is wild. Not really a loss of response either. I still feel that initial liftoff in a great way. The material is a little prone to absorbing dirt, but hey, nothing that can't be easily cleaned. Need more colors please!

The sneakers are amazing! They feel like I'm running on clouds. I've been an avid user of Nike Alphaflys since they became available to the public. These sneakers just replaced Alphafly as my go to long distance runners. I love'em. Good job HOKA!

Easily the most comfortable and cushioned running shoe I've ever owned. Knocked a minute of each mile of running. Out performs the Speedgoat 5 and Clifton 9. Pricey but worth the added expense.

These shoes are special. It's like the Bondi X but fun and peppy. Pair these with the CIELO X and Hoka suddenly has the best dynamic duo on the market. A bit heavy in hand but not on foot.

I trained for a marathon in Bondi X, and these were the perfect next shoe for me. The cushion is great, but not overwhelmingly squishy. Energy return from the carbon is legit.

The Bondi X is NOT a plush ride. It is thick, but not soft like the Skyward X. The Skyward X has a wider toe box than the Bondi X and a plush/soft ride. If I had to change anything about the Skyward X, it would be to make the "twisting" stiffer, like the Bondi X. Less ankle injuries.

Wasn't sure if this would be too tall but so far no issues. The carbon plate propels me forward and I feel supported on both sides as I run. Color me impressed.
