I love these shoes! I've worn the Carbon Xs and they're okay. These are positively bouncy! I've got a big Hoka shoe collection and these are now my favorite. You can really feel the meta-rocker sole rolling you onto your toes when walking. I didn't notice that as much when running though, just a smooth stride. I've had these a little over a week now and my feet are loving it! I haven't done a long 20 mile training run yet, but they have a good energy return while still cushioning a lot. I'm 62 and recovering from plantar fasciitis, so these will really help keep that bay I think. I'm debating on saving them for my next marathon, but my feet could definitely use them now. I wear a half size up from my street shoes and they still fit well after a long run.

I have not ran in two and a half weeks and ripped a 10 mile run no problem due to the fact they feel so smooth you want to keep running. Increased room in toe box which I love. Great for hills.

As a former 5-hour marathoner I got into the supertrainer game desiring a race shoe and not wanting to be left out of the carbon-plate craze. Initial thoughts at the time were shocked at how bouncy they were and how they made my 11:00 min/mile turn into an effortless 10:00 min/mile. For awhile these were my "fast shoes". I have since become more of a 4-hour marathoner and now cannot imagine myself racing in these. What I've noticed ever since I got faster is the weight as well as the high-stiffness causing some aches in the arch. Though I enjoy the high-protection this shoe still offers, I am noticing my 9:00 min/miles feel weighted into a sluggish 10:00/mile.
I still think this is a very good shoe, but I just don't know where I'd put it in my rotation. They're too stiff to be a daily trainer, too heavy to be an uptempo trainer, and honestly, I don't even know if I like this as a long run trainer any more. Right now, I use them for slower recovery runs for the protection but I think the plate can sometime be a little harsh. The Bondi would serve the exact same purpose for cheaper
Bottom line, if you're used to training in bulkier shoes like the Bondi or Gel-Nimbus, I can see the Skyward X being an energetic upgrade. If you're using a shoe lighter than 10.5 oz you will really notice the heaviness. If you're a slower runner, this can be a really good all-rounder shoe. If you run faster than 10:00 min/mile I'd say there's better shoes to add to your rotation. Also beware of the plate. If you're like me and your feet prefer a little bit more flexibility these are currently one of the most stiffest shoes in the market right now. For those with stability concerns that might be a good thing. For me, I've found that my feet prefer a little more flexibility
Sizing wise, I sized down to a 7.5 (normal size is 8)

It's like walking on marshmallows. So wonderfully soft. You can feel the suspension working. The only drawback is, if you have stability issues this shoe is not for you. Since the soul and suspension make the shoes so thick the height destabilizes the shoe somewhat. An ankle roll is much more likely with this shoe when walking over on level services. That being said, if you have plantar fasciitis and no problems with balance this shoe is for you. Great for walking on the treadmill too! Just remember, your trading some stability for super soft cushy shoes.

I have tried many different brands of shoes and keep coming back to these. I wear them all the time from light training to half-marathons.

Just one of the best Road Shoes I have ever had. My first pair of Hoka's that I have owned. Been dealing with a torn meniscus and these shoes have allowed long runs to be more pain free.

I use this shoe for long power walks every day. Love the maximum cushioning and the spring forward that you get with the carbon plate, and it's comfortable.

I purchased these for a marathon I ran in the quad cities. And they were better than I expected. No issues with blisters, or shins.

Wow! Once I ordered the correct size, I found my new FAVORITE runner. This is a light, supportive, cushiony but not bouncy shoe. I ordered 1/2 size up but they were too roomy. Hoka's stellar exchange process got me the right size and I'm hooked. I would love to see the black Skyward X return.

I've been a Hoka Shoe user for about 6 years.. I had to issues and your Doctor recommended Hokas..
I've tried about all of the Men's models and styles..
The Day i put on the Skyward X was a memorable one..
PROS
Plush.. the most comfortable feeling shoe of All Time
Durable.. my 1st pair is going on 2 years
Boost.. Yes they make you about an Inch Taller !
Style.. Yes they look Amazing
CONS
No Cons however if I had to pick one.. they ARE plush and therefore have a lot of cushioning.. making them a bit susceptible to turning an ankle if playing basketball..
BEST SHOE OF ALL TIME

This shoe feels good on my feet. Very cushioned and supportive. Feels like your walking on clouds. Nice feel to them. Not too heavy or too light. Would definitely recommend this shoe. Like the colorway as well.

After running over 200 miles in these I can confidently say that they're one of my favorite pair of shoes I've ever had. Running in these feels more like gliding, mid-foot striking just feels so effortless and the carbon plate allows you to keep momentum by springing up with each step. I don't just run in these, I also walk in them since I live in NYC and do a lot of walking, they're like clouds on your feet and when I wear these they shoot me up to 6'4 (I'm normally 6'2) with the nearly 2 inch heel stack, making me feel like a giant. I love these things and they give me everything I could ever want out of a shoe, I can't recommend them enough.

I was a Bondi fan for 15 years. The Bondi has changed for the worse. So I thought I would give the Skyward x a try.
The only drawback is the limited color selection.
It's a very light and comfortable shoe. The padding is great!

Diehard bondi fan. Struggled to justify the extra $ for the skyward x. MISTAKE. These shoes are very soft and return energy, so much so I was shocked. First run from the box was 10 miles and felt effortless. Would highly recommend shoe.

I have used the Skywards since their release and I can honestly say these are my favorite shoes, ever! I am in my mid-50's and these shoes help me feel secure and stable, avoiding injury or overuse issues, while providing me with great bounce and quickness.

I was looking for a max cushion walking shoe. After trying on countless shoes I went with this one. The fit is a little narrower than other Hoka max cushion shoes but that worked perfectly for me. The cushioning is soft but firm with the right amount of springiness. Other brand max cushion shoes felt too soft and spongy. The stack height is nearly two inches, not great for dynamic movements, climbing around, etc. But that's not what I wanted them for. The only other thing is I wish there were more colorways.
