The Altra Women's Lone Peak 8 are the lightest trail running shoe that I've ever worn. I really love the durable outer shoe and the grippy bottom soles. The wide toe box is perfect for wider feet and for people who like extra room between the toes. The colors are super cute and I've gotten many compliments on the shoes. The zero drop and moderate cushion makes the shoes very comfortable for both walking and running. I would definitely buy other shoes from Altra and recommend the them to others who like to run with functional high quality shoes. I received the shoes for free in exchange for extensively testing them and writing this review.

These shoes fit so well I don't even realize I'm wearing shoes. I love the wide toe box and zero drop. I wore them on the trails this past weekend and they passed expectations. They gripped well and I didn't slip. I highly recommend these shoes from everyday wear to running the trails. They fit true to size for me too.

I do a lot of hiking, and really appreciate all of the traction support on the shoe. Another unique feature I love is that it has a natural foot shape which means the toe box is wider but it's not so wide where the design looks kind of clownish like some other brands. It is very comfortable on the foot without sacrificing design which is what I have been really looking for a long time. The colorway is super cute and I like how it's dark so it doesn't get too muddy but still has a pop of salmon pink color on the sole. It held up rail on a muddy hike and gave me a lot of grip and decent cushion.

The tennis shoes that I had previously had were not comfortable at all. These tennis shoes are the best I have ever had, they are super comfortable and comfortable both for walking and for running, hiking and even for going for a walk in the park, they are not heavy nothing and they feel comfortable, they are wide at the tip which makes them super comfortable, my fingers don't feel limited because they have enough space to move. These tennis shoes have changed my life, I will continue buying them and I recommend using them, my family has already started to change their shoes for ALTRA Running

This Women's Lone Peak is something unique from my past trail running shoes. I like that it comes in a wide roomy toe box so I can move my toes freely without having to suffer after each run. I also like that outsole it is very soft and comfortable. It has refined mesh and feet can breath freely. I love it! I would definitely recommend this to a friend!

Very comfortable, love the laces-easy to put on, toe box is wide which is super helpful for someone with high arches and who has broken/sprained both ankles multiple times, love the colors as well. I would buy these shoes again and again.

I love how lightweight this trial runner is. The width is perfect for my wide feet. It provides excellent traction on gravels. I also like the way logo is printed on the side. All in all, it's one of my favorites!!

The Altra Women's Lone Peak 8 is evidently a thoughtfully designed trail shoe, providing a blend of key features. The spacious toe box allows for natural toe movement, while the zero-drop platform promotes a biomechanically efficient stride. The trail-ready outsole ensures stability on diverse terrains, and the generous cushioning offers comfort during extended activities. Together, these attributes make the Lone Peak 8 a comfortable and supportive footwear choice for outdoor enthusiasts involved in a range of activities.

The toe box is VERY big and almost made the shoes feel a size too big, but after lots of hiking and walking they feel just right. These are sturdy and feel very supportive for being a zero drop trail runners. The shoes are well designed, beautiful colors, and great laces that stay tied without having to double knot.

With excellent ground contact, it delivers a secure grip, while its lightweight design adds agility to your trail adventures. Versatile across surfaces, this shoe seamlessly combines durability and performance for an exceptional trail-running experience. I am a fan.

I'm not a trail runner; I was advised to get the firm soles of a trail shoe to aid with the use of orthotics for my foot issues. For being on my feet a lot at elementary school, I love how the Lone Peak 8s treat my feet and support better posture. Haven't found another shoe like it. I wear these most of the time! I wish they came in slip-resistant soles for restaurant work as well! My only complaint is that they showed a good bit of wear after the year, both in tread and the upper (hence needing to get a replacement pair for my everyday school wear).

These shoes are more blue than expected. I found them to be comfortable and cushioned, but the lone peak 9 is more cushioned and I'd definitely recommend those over these. Overall the 8s are pretty good.

My third pair! My squarish toes love the general roomy fit, though they do manage to poke a hole in the front too quickly. The bottoms are incredibly grippy, which is great for the trail hiking I do a lot of. Not so great for my morris dancing, which is too bad, because the comfort and cushioning should be perfect. The grip inhibits the sideways movement that kind of dancing requires. I suppose it would be the same if I tried them for tennis. I'd love to see some Lone Peaks that don't have contrasting dark and/or white in the sole, so they read more like solid color.

Compared to some other brands this model probably runs a little large and wide, but that is good for me. I wish all Altras had this toe box. It's perfect for me (tarsal-metatarsal injury so need to spread toes). The little bit of extra room is appreciated on trails. There isn't much cushion to these which is great for efficiency, but if running on rough hard trail feel the rocks underfoot. Overall I love these. I even have been gravel (cycle) riding in them because the midfoot isn't flexible and they grip my flat pedals. They finally wore out and I moved on to the Lone Peak 9.

This is my third pair of Lone Peaks. The laces are kind of short, though. With Darn Tough hiking socks, they're a bit hard to tie. I also had to add some Spenco inserts for arch support, so that probably contributes to the lace length shortage, Otherwise, my favorite hiking shoeswith Michigan's sand dunes having a shoe that's gaiter ready really matters.

I run and walk in LONE PEAK 8.5 WIDE. They have become unavailable...for months now.. Please restock this size as we need them! SInce 2021, since the Lone Peak 5, I use only these shoes. Desperate for more 8.5 WIDE. It's a great shoe, so do not abandon us Wild Wide Women!

I love these shoes but PLEASE make black/grey for women. The men's version has them but not the women's. And the men's sizing doesn't go small enough to buy those instead.

I will always stand by altra shoes and I am overall very happy with these pair. But having gone from a lone peak 7 to now lone peak 8, the fit is a bit different. It's a bit wider of a feel so when trail running it feels less stable. The new top material is nicer since it's more water resistant but it also makes the shoe feel more stiff. I would still buy these again but I liked the lone peak 7 more.

I bought the Dark Purple color (a vibrant purple in person, not like the photo) in my normal size 9.5. Took my first trail walk in them this morning. I found the toe box to be plenty wide, but the midfoot was borderline too narrow. I would love to loosen the laces to see if that helps the issue, but the laces are pretty short overall, especially since I use the additional eyelets at the very top to reduce heel gapping. I even relaced them from ghillie to normal and the laces are still so short that they can't be double-knotted. I will keep these for walking but would not be able to run in them because for me, the midfoot is too narrow to accommodate any additional spread in the midfoot from the landing force.

I bought These because I was Looking for a good shoe to wear in Ireland, where it rains often. I wear Altras as my daily shoe, so I thought It best to stick with the same drop because of all the walking I will Be doing. I bought These dark blue and green shoes (not black as it's advertised). They're beautiful, fit great and look lovely on my feetless bulky looking than my other pair. I let a small amount water sprinkle on my shoes to simulate a light rain for less than 30 seconds, probably more like 15 seconds. My toes were soaked. I will Definitely be walking around way more than that and my feet would be wet all day in these. I'm so disappointed! Great shoes if you aren't looking for shoes to keep you dry. I normally Wear either a 7.5 or 8, medium width. I needed 7.5 in these.
