I am so frustrated with your team, Altra. You get all this constructive feedback from the people who "used to" rave about your shoes. Why the constant attempts at trying to improve on the one's that the people are frequently telling you they already love? How about keeping what was working for hoards of your fans? Sort through the millions of reviews and give the people what they are asking you for. The 4.5's made long-distance hiking, or really anything over 3 miles, possible for me. I have spent tons of money since then on buying the latest one's hoping something will come close to the 4.5's, but unfortunately I find myself frustrated and out a bunch of money. Argh I don't get it. Until I see a return of what I'm looking for, I've got to look elsewhere for a trail runner that will work for me.

As someone who has been buying Altra's since the Lone Peak 2 days, I have watched my favorite parts of Altra footwear slowly decline. What is going on with you all? We want a wide toe-box and for the feet breathe.

4's r the best; but, I needed to update over the yrs. As new LP's were released, I started to like it less & less. I do not favor the 8: stiff,more narrow, & feels like my feet are rolling inward.

Altra sneakers in general are one of the best sneaker brands on the market. They are worth every penny spent on them. I love that they are zero drop and don't make my Morton's Neuroma act up. I even wear them to work where I am on my feet all day as I am a pharmacy technician in a hospital.

These are really comfy! Toe box is roomy. If you would normally size up for wide feet, I would suggest not to do that with these. These give you the extra room that you need. Totally recommend!

I absolutely love my Lone Peak 6s. The 8s seem to be less cushioned and the toe box is not as roomy. I don't think it is the width that is different - it feels more like the material on top of the shoe tapers off toward the toes more sharply which makes the shoe feel shorter. I am so disappointed and don't know what other shoe to try. Maybe customer support can help me find a shoe that fits and feels more like the Lone Peak 6?

I have a really hard time with hiking shoes fitting my wide, wide feet. I also have bunions, probably from hiking so much. They have soft sides and toes, so they don't squeeze your toes! I found these shoes and bought them and absolutely love them. I have been wearing them for two days and my feet feel great. I just purchased another pair, because shoe manufacturers always discontinue the shoes you love. I love them.

These are my absolute favorite shoes for running, hiking, beach walks, etc. They have a fit like no other shoe. As an avid runner and hiker, I need a shoe that has a wide toe width and these are it! One this to note, is that because of the larger toe width, I take a smaller size in these shoes. I never realized that I needed an extra half size because my toes were so crushed in other shoes. Because this shoe fits so well, it provides a very comfortable run or hike. My feet dont feel sore after using these (like they do with other shoes). I love the colors and style as well. The heel has a cool "kick" on it that makes running breeze.

I have peripheral neuropathy, Achilles enthesopathy, and bone spurs in both feet. From the minute I started walking in these shoes I knew they were going to be life changing for me. My posture improved, my balance improved and my feet feel amazing in these shoes. I highly recommend you try a pair out.

I've been buying this shoes for years, never disappointed! My only complaint this time is that the grey/black color is neither gray or black, it's actually blue! The midsole looks whitish in the photo and is actually blue. I was really hoping for a grey black look. Disappointing!

I purchased these shoes to do a walk in Italy. It's was the first walk I've done in which I did not get blisters. My feet felt so good the entire time. Upon returning home I purchased another pair!

Shoe was uncomfortable all the way around. My feet hurt from wearing them which has never been a problem before. I've worn Lone Peaks for years. These were not wide enough even though I ordered a Wide shoe. The sole was very unforgiving, not flexible and absorbing as in the past. And your color selection sucks especially since Wide is usually available in only one or two colors. Overall, very sad to see the changes in your shoes go downhill. I will not be buying from Altra again.

These are nice, just not for me! Severe calf pain from being zero drop I think- I don't have this problem with any other running shoes. These also don't have much cushion.

This is the 3rd or 4th pair of Lone Peaks I've had. They are tough shoes that last a long time and the fit is excellent for supinators with weak ankles. I have very few instances of turned ankles since I went to Altras.

I love these shoes!!!! They are lightweight and fit my feet perfectly. So wonderful for walking and hiking!

My favorite outdoor running, walking, hiking shoe. This is my fifth pair.

Hiking walking recovery and thru hiking

I absolutely love these. I have a wider foot and these fit so perfect width wise. I also love the wider toe box. I find shoes end up super tight in the toes when running/hiking. I'd rather wear trail runners than hiking boots or regular running shoes so these were perfect. These were so comfortable right out of the box and I feel like they really don't need a break-in period. Would gladly buy many more pairs!

Third pair of Lone Peak 8 trail shoes - use for walks, especially those that are in the woods, and even some mellow hikes. So very comfortable, and good for a outer heel striker like myself.

Love these. Shoes! I wear them around town, on the trail, and hiking! The wide toe box leaves room for my feet to move naturally in all circumstances. This is my 5th pair of altras.

Finally, my feet feel completely comfortable, supported, and I love my shoes!!! I've already bought a second pair!

It's the only shoe I wear, I've even converted to wearing them with suits.

I am so in love with these shoes. I don't have wide feet, but I do like my toes to be able to spread in their natural form instead of being squished into pointed shoes. I'm even golfing in these now because I have yet to find a golf shoe with a wide to box like Altra. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, for making shoes the way shoes should be made!

My daughter suggested this shoe to me a few years ago. I wear them to work for all day comfort and I use them hiking for stability and traction!

Purchased for hiking due to having pain with other hiking shoes in the ball of my foot. These are great and comfortable. Only thing I wish they had is a tad more arch support, but otherwise love these.
