These shoes are great. I had help finding my fit at a Fleet Feet store. I would recommend that to anyone shopping for their first altra shoes. I have never been a runner. When I was young, I was too lazy. Starting in my 30s it became an issue with my knees. I thought I would have to accept never being a runner. Then I decided to pursue a job that required it. Again with the guidance of staff at my local Fleet Feet and the brand recommendation of a personal trainer friend, I decided to try Altra. Now I can't run a 5k with no knee pain.

These are my go-to shoes. I wear these to work, running, running errands, hanging out, yard work, etc.

I loved my first pair and love the new version even more. I used these for marathon training for the longer run days with minimal speed but found them awesome on speed work days for more cushion

This is my fourth pair of ultras, and by far my most favorite. The towel box is the widest, and the cushioning is responsive, but stable. I run a combination of road and Trail, and have yet to have an issue or I regret leaving the house in these shoes.

I've tried finding comfortable shoes for years with no success other than Birkenstocks, and a friend of mind suggested zero drop shoes. I found that Altra has those shoes so I bought a pair and will never wear anything else in the future!! Wide toe box so your toes move. Its helped my feet and back tremendously!!

Having run in the torin 7, I needed a little more cushion for long runs. As a heavier person, these fit the bill while continuing to let my toes splay while running.

My podiatrist recommended these shoes for my extremely challenged feet. They suppinate and I roll my ankle a lot. I have been getting pain on the outside and the bottom of the foot. The cushioning, for me, is perfect. It is not so soft that it is unstable but is soft enough to be comfortable for walking. The wide toe box is amazing and NW, when I put other shoes on, my toes feel cramped.

Being a heavier runner, the extra cushion is necessary for the road miles leading up to an ultra. Love these for my long road runs throughout the week.

As someone who tried the Via 1 and was left wanting a softer underfoot feel, the Via 2 delivers exactly what I was hoping for. It has the same spacious fit as the original, just with a noticeably plusher midsole and insert. These are my go-to for long runs & easy recovery miles, and I don't see that changing any time soon!

I am new to the running arena so I wanted to make sure that I started out with the right running shoe. I strongly feel I made the right choice going with this particular shoe!

Great, natural feel with these rockers. Plush ride is perfect for recovery runs or long, easy/moderate efforts. Wide toe box keeps my feet happy. Just perfect for what I'm looking for - 10 milers where I don't feel beat up afterward.

The fit and extraordinary cushioning are phenomenal! I have tried so many other brands, and often need either a 12.5 or 13 in a 4E Wide (for room for my toes). Altra's natural foot design (or what I believe they are now calling the "original" foot design in THIS model) is perfect - allowing for plenty of room for your toes to splay naturally and comfortably. Love this model and have already bought several pair - hopefully, whenever Altra changes this model in the future, as most manufactures seem to do, they won't really change anything about this perfect model!

I'm 64 with two painful knees. These shoes have tremendously decreased my pain due to the rocker bottom soles. This concept takes stress off of the knees for a smoother and easier gait! I'm ordering a second pair!

I weigh from 220 to 285 with very wide feet. I've tried many different brand shoes that were 4x width, but they were not wide enough. These shoes fit and the width and comfort are beyond belief......

I weight in at around 220or so . There are quite a few shoes that I can run in, up to around 8 miles. Than my feet start to feel it, and sometimes even sooner. I did my first run in these Altras, 12 miles. My feet felt great the whole time and after! What a difference. So, if your a larger person, but what to get the miles in, try these guys out!

I ran my first ever half marathon, the shoe is pretty good, I am a amateur runner but definitely nicer than my new balance shoes and my Nikes!

I've tried a lot of different Altra shoes over the years. Escalantes, Vanish Tempos, Torins, and Long Peaks. A lot of those shoes were ok, but they'd have one or two issues that left me searching for something better. The Escalantes felt too "sloppy", the Vanish Tempos were too narrow, and the Torins just had a slightly awkward shape for my foot. The Olympus 2s have a wide, food shaped toe box, plenty of bounce, and they put my feet in an optimal position to run. Highly recommended and well done Altra!

This shoe is ergonomically much better than the previous Olympus. The cushioning is far superior as well. More bounce but at the same time better stability. I highly recommend anyone wanting zero drop, wide toe box but not ready for more of the minimalist shoes.

I have been wearing Altra's for 5+ years. This one has the most bounce and comfort by far! The paradigm used to be my favorite Altra. However, the last 2 have been terrible. The via is not noticeably heavy because the energy return makes up for that. It's comfortable at most paces! I have even taken it out on an 18 mile long run where some of the miles were in the 5:20-5:50 range. Due to the wide base of the shoe, it has some stability features! I will be getting another pair as soon as possible. The one criticism I have is making the upper a tad more plush.

Great shoe! Love the Gray and white. Would love a true wide width. Paradigm and Torin in words are fine but this shoe is the best for run, walk or work.

I'm usually a 9.5, and I had to size up to 10 for this shoe. It's an amazing shoe. I tried different "wide size" shoes from other brands, and they did not leave enough room for my pinky toe, and with this shoe, it was perfect. If you want enough room for your toes, this is the one. I'm so happy with these shoes and I'll definitely buy more!

The Via 2 checks all the boxes for me, and its softer midsole is a huge improvement on the first edition (which I also loved!). Mine currently have ~40 mi on them, I look forward to many more.
