I had similar experience as another poster, this turtleneck is smaller than same one (in different color) that I ordered a couple of yrs ago. The material is noticeably thinner, and it shrank after washing acc to instructions. Deciding whether to size up or to just return and purchase at another retailer.
At this price point the overall quality should be higher. I love LLB, but their turtlenecks have been disappointing in material and sizing, esp in shorter length of arms and torso.

I have ordered many of these in various colors over the years. Loved them!!!!
I ordered two this year, the teal, which is a great color but not when it rubs off on my bra even after two washings. The Heather grey is the second one and that does not have that smooth look and feel that Bean's Supima cotton should have. It's not the kind of thing that warrants a return but come on,
what's up Bean!

Love the fabric and the fit. Washed in cold water, Put in dryer on low for 10 minutes. Hung to dry It shrank about 2 inches. No longer wearable.

The turtleneck ran small and was not the generous cut nor thick fabric I expected from LLBean. It was not the quality I expected.

I am 162 pounds and 5'7" I bought a large based on reviews in my normal size. I just received it and tried it on and I felt like a stuffed sausage with two short of sleeves and like my neck was being squeezed out of a tube of toothpaste. The fabric was also kind of cheap and not comfortable with much stretch. I hate that I have to pay $6.50 to return it or I might try an extra large but I am already out too much money for just this basic cheap turtleneck that looked awful on me.

The turtleneck is baggy and droopy. The top was very expensive and is borderline unwearable. It's no surprise that the fashion model has her hand on her neck to hide the defective turtleneck.

I find this turtleneck really lacking in the quality that L.L.Bean used to have. It is thin, way too short and I'd really like to just send it back. The company used to offer Tall sizes which provided a bit more length, but I noticed this is not offered much anymore. I have one of these turtlenecks from back in 2020 and it is still in great shape, made of better material and longer. L.L.Bean, what is going on with your products?

I bought this turtleneck in two colors to wear under sweaters. I noticed right away, even before laundering, that the body of the turtleneck is very short (doesn't always stay tucked into pants). Now that I washed them, the sleeves are also very short. I even checked my order to be sure I hadn't accidentally purchased the petite version. I would definitely advise to purchase a larger size, but I'm not sure that would completely solve the body and sleeve length problems.

Have several turtlenecks from years past and quality has been excellent! This turtleneck size small fit, but the quality of the fabric is not what it used to be. The fabric is on the thin side, and the sleeves were a bit short as was length. I chose not to return it because I wear it mainly under sweaters; however, it doesn't provide much warmth as with my other turtleneck from years past.

I just returned it. If these were about 2-3 inches longer (or maybe 3-4 inches if they shrink in length after washing), I would order several. It seems like a lot of other people have felt the same way for some time. Also wish there were better color selection from LL Bean.

Quality as expected was very good. But disappointingly rusty red. I was looking for something much brighter.

The medium was quite small and it shrunk after washing.

I bought several of these as I loved the jewel tone colors, but the care tags on the inner left seam are scratchy and are stitched entirely into the seam so cannot be removed without opening the seam. There is no excuse for this as soft tags are readily available in this industry. Back to Land's End for me.

Too short in length; otherwise good fit, but can only wear under another shirt.

I've had 2 of these turtlenecks just shy of 2 years. Until now they've laundered fine. This morning, I laundered one as usual. The minute I pulled it from the dryer I knew it had shrunk considerably; an inch+ in the torso and sleeve length (confirmed by comparing it to the 2nd one I own.) I spoke with LL Bean customer service and they told me to send it to them and they would "evaluate" it. I've heard LL Bean has changed their position on standing behind their products but this is my 1st time experiencing what, I guess, is their new "norm" Hopefully, they will agree it should not have shrunk like this. Regardless, I don't recommend this item unless you want to buy it too large, to allow for long-term shrinkage, or air dry it every time, Seems that's what I'll be doing now with the second one I own. Not ideal . . .

I'm keeping it because I love the color. However, the weight of the fabric is too lightweight.

My last one like this, same size, fits very loose, almost looks like it's too big but that's what I like. Newest, fits like one two sizes smaller. I am returning it.

I don't know why this shirt was so unflattering. I've purchased several turtle necks from Bean.

I ordered four Pima cotton turtlenecks. Two of them were real fold down turtlenecks. The other two were mock necks. I had taken tags off before I realized that the two weren't the right items so I will keep them but I am disappointed and will not order again.

This is the first year I have NOT purchased one after ca.10 years because THEY SHRINK A LOT. 4 inches in overall length and sleeve length after just a few warm/cool washings and hang to dry.

Enh. Neck is too short to be is any substance when folded over, and unfolded it lacks the fortitude to stay up. It slides down and looks like a mistake. Perhaps another model (or Men's?!) better.

Fabric quality is lovely in the rustic red, but a little too much blue in the red so not really a rust color but blue red rust, which is not really idea for the warm or cool skin tones, but what is really frustrating is that the regular XS is advertised as having a sleeve length of 30 inches but really its 26.5 inches and too short for my slender 5'6" frame. I ordered 2 in the its the same for both tops! Really this would be a sleeve length for a petite size I believe not a regular! I have worn the XS regular in the non pima cotton tees and NEVER put them in the dryer but rather stretch out the arms on the tees on the hanger while they are still wet and that makes the sleeves long enough to wear. Don't know if that will work with these pima cotton tees though as the sleeves are so much shorter! Also the arms are more slender a cut and may not have enough give. It fit me perfect in the body of the top, I have a shorter body frame so the size is perfect for me in the body but the sleeves are too short. The color and style and finish are fine enough for a more dressed up look. A very elegant top actually just too short in the sleeves!

Quality fair; thought it would be thicker. Sleeves too short on both of the turtlenecks I ordered so I don't even wear them- so disappointing!
