Nice fabric and color but turtleneck too tight. Difficult to get over the head and felt uncomfortable on so it was returned. I do not have a large neck.

The raven color is deep and rich. It is a lovely alternative to black. The material is a silky Pima cotton. The neck of the turtleneck is overly loose. The sleeve length is perfect, but it would be improved with a knit cuff or some other way of making it fit or tightly around the wrist.

The shirt is incredibly soft and it is comfortable but it is worth noting that it runs a little small and it shrinks a noticeable amount. So even though I sized up, after just a couple machine washes (in cold water) and dries, it fits fine but it's certainly not roomy. I'm concerned that after a few more launderings it could be too small.

The fabric is great but the sleeves are hemmed would give it 5 stars if the sleeves were cuffed. Won't buy this again because of that.

These are a staple of my wardrobe, but the last three I bought are tighter than previous purchases (and no, I'm not getting largerI still had a couple never-worn ones on my shelf that I purchased last year. The sizing has changed.) Meanwhile, I had to send back a cardigan because it was too big. LLBean, you'd better get your sizing right.

I have several of these turtlenecks from previous years that I really like. Nice weight for under sweaters, washes beautifully, and feels soft. But this year the neck is too tight. I bought a large, but the neck was uncomfortable, so I ordered an XL thinking the neck would be okay and I could handle the extra body size. The neck is tolerable but still snug, and the body is sloppy looking. Not happy, but not returning. Doubt I will order any more next year.

The quality is excellent. I love the soft, stretchy Pima cotton. Unfortunately it is too tight to be comfortable. I bought my usual size, XL, but I can't wear it without feeling choked at the turtleneck. The body of the piece is also too tight to wear.

I have been ordering these for years. They previously were perfect after washing. This is not the same. Shrinks to a size smaller. I ordered XL and it came out to a L. Disappointed. Will keep it but hesitant to order more.

I have been buying these for years, but one of the last ones that I bought quickly lost shape. It was a disappointment -- The fabrics used are not the same as before, and it is notable. It lost shape its shape quickly and also was more skimpy than less recent purchases. I will try buying LLBean again, but am definitely tentative about it given the recent experience. The same coments apply to the 'perfect' pants fabrics and their colors. The synthetic fabrics now used are supposed to be improvements, but actually I miss the old cotton corduroy and plain cotton cargo pants. The 'perfect ones' don't feel the same nor do they fit as nicely. Among other things I looked for real "cotton corduroy LLBean cargo pants" on the internet and only found used ones -- and haven't tried getting any of those.

I love the color enough to keep this shirt, however, it is tighter than previous shirts I've purchased from LL Bean. I generally wear size 14, and I ordered my usual Large, but both the sleeves and chest are fairly tight. Since XL tops are usually too wide in the shoulders, I'm not exchanging this.

I have a fairly small neck, and the turtlenecks are always perfect. Everything about them is great from the color, to the fit and fabric, to the easy care. I don't know why this one was an inch and a half too wide. I hesitate to order another because of the shipping cost both ways. I'm stuck because no one else offers this quality with a neck that fits. I would order an X-small, but that may be too small, and shipping costs both ways are ridiculous.

I have several of these turtlenecks from previous years and they fit well. This one that I just got seems to be tighter and more clingy, which I don't like. I'm wondering if they are coming from a different source this year? Hopefully it will relax a bit with washing, but I have my doubts.

Ive been an LLBean customer for decades & turtlenecks are a staple in my wardrobe. I like the dressier look which Pima cotton fabric gives although it's not warm. Why does LLBean offer only TALL sizing in the cheaper turtleneck non Pima Cotton which is cut entirely different. My torso does not shrink. Others have mentioned the 'shorter' length in the pima cotton garment so this is obviously an issue for many women!!

Lovely turtleneck; the cotton was luxurious. The garment was thin; I was looking for a thicker, heavier turtleneck. I was also concerned about the sleeve length. I tried it on and the shirt fit nicely in the sleeves but I knew after one washing, the sleeves would be too short. And the tail of the shirt was too short for me. I'm long-waisted and thin and it just didn't work.

I purchased this shirt for the quality of its materials and purchased a size small so that it would have a fitted shape, but the sleeves only came to my wrists and after laundering, the sleeves are even 2" shorter. Please make your sleeves longer.

LL Bean is the only reputable store left,( in my option). However year by year the quality gets worse and the price increases. The quality of cotton is so thin and the side tag so itchy.

The supima cotton feels like silk and the fit overall is fine. The length of this turtleneck is much too short because it shrinks a great deal in the wash (I used lukewarm water) and I was told to wash it on cold. Most other retailers seem to take shrinkage under consideration and I don't have this problem except with LL Bean . I have the same shirt from years ago which also fits like a child's shirt in length but I took a chance and ordered it again. I guess the feedback of terrible shrinkage in the length gets ignored. Customer service told me it's a common complaint so come on Bean, make a change for once.

Sorry, I cannot give you a 5 star rating on this shirt. I haven't tried it on yet. And I don't know why I even ordered it. I'm not a turtleneck shirt wearer. I'm keeping it and maybe I'll be brave enough to wear it tomorrow.

Should have ordered the interlock with ribbed sleeves. I really detest these Pima shirts because I'm short and the sleeve is always too long. On a positive note, the shirt is well made and soft, but the material is also thin and not as warm to me as the interlock turtlenecks. I'll know better next time.

I should have bought a regular size. I selected the petite size in because I have scoliosis and my upper body is short. In a regular I would've taken a small. I selected the medium petite because the regular shirts end up being way too long for me but the arms are too short.

I have always liked the fact that the LLbean turtlenecks were roomy and long. I was disappointed that the two I bought were skimpy and I actually had to size up from what I normally get. They are shorter as well which is also a disappointment.

I like the turtlenect, however, the necks on them seem to be more tight than they used to be. Small to get over your head.
