I've been wearing Altras for years and this is the first pair I'm really disappointed in. The inner fabric already has a hole in it and I've had issues with them rubbing my toe joints for months.

I'm a lifetime Altra customer and these are the first pair I've been unhappy with. I get cramps every time I wear them. They pinch my feet and I feel like they're impossible to break in.

This was my first pair of Altras, after years of recommendations I finally decided to give it a go but was wildly disappointed. After just one normal day, these shoes flared up two old injuries in my feet. This is so rare, I genuinely had forgotten about them until I wore these shoes. On top of that by the end of my day my hips, knees, thighs, and lower back were screaming. Considering how many people have raved about their Altra's I have to believe that it's a problem with this current design. I gave two stars because the return process is easy. I'm willing to try another pair in the future with, hopefully, some major improvements to the design.

I really like the feel of this shoe, and it is one of the only running shoes that is wide enough to not hurt my feet. Unfortunately the quality of the shoe is lacking. After only a few weeks of use, the fabric started ripping. I needed to get them replaced after only using them for a few months. Other running shoes typically last me 6-12 months. For the cost of these shoes, the quality should be much higher.

I'm really disappointed in this shoe. I've loved my lone peaks so when it was time for new daily walking shoes I bought these. They are extremely comfortable (hence the two stars), but the quality is just bad. I've had them since January and use them to do about an hour of walking per day (about 3 miles a day). Within the past two and a half months the shoes already have 3 rips along the fabric. This is not normal wear and tear and not something I've experienced with running shoes from the other brands I've worn (hoka, on cloud, brooks). I also find it strange since my lone peaks have not done the same. I don't wear them as often but I've clocked many more miles on them. I have read other reviews stating the same, but I hoped they were just fluke incidents.

Most pain my foot has ever felt from a sneaker. My ankle did not line up with the ankle area of the shoe and this stiff plate part of the shoe jabbed into my ankle to the point I couldn't weight bear in them. This wasn't a case of breaking a sneaker in (not that one should have to). Disappointing as in everything else about the sneaker felt great. The stiff ankle part needs to go.

I am always an 8.5 with Altra. The 8.5 felt too long- like a 9. But the 8 was then too narrow. The cushion seemed great so I am disappointed and hope the sizing is better on the next iteration of this shoe.

What happened to Altras being nice and wide in the toe box?? I had the Torin 5 (women's 9 regular) and ran that shoe to death. Loved it. Now for the Torin 7 even the women's 9 wide width is too narrow for me. What gives? Please bring back wide toe box, narrow heel shoes!

The spot where the shoelaces start (comes across the top of the big toe bone at the ball of your foot) is so painful! It makes me feel like there's a bunion, but I don't have bunions. No other brand shoe hurts like this.

If you are looking for the same comfort as the last Torins you bought, don't buy these! They have 100% changed the foot shape and these are much narrower than previous versions. Never have I ever put on a pair of Altras and felt immediate pain instead of comfort until these! My last 2 pairs, the sole fell apart within 3 months of owning them, and now this. This will be my last pair. After years of owning these, the time has come to an end.

I bought these at local retailer. They're going back due to blister on forefoot. Original shape works for me, but not regular. I've loved Altra's for the toe box, but way too few Original options now!!

First off, I have purchased nothing but Altra shoes since the Provision 2.0 and loved them. I actually have over a dozen pairs-even one new pair of the beloved Torin 4! I agree with another reviewer that the 4 is the best Torin ever made-bring it back! This 7 is, for me, too shallow in the toe box and the heel collar rubs my ankle. Another favorite of mine is the Escalante 1.5 (have one more new pair of these, too!) but I was looking for an Escalante-like Altra with a little more cushion and thought the Torin 7 might provide that. Alas, Altra has made the toe box so much smaller that their shoes often do not provide the comfort that Altra used to be known for. At least now, at 75, I'm only running about 10 miles a week, so maybe I won't need to buy as many shoes as I did in the past ;)

I love Altra and have a pair of Escalante and Lone Peak. I work 10 hour days up on my feet and was in need of a new pair of shoes after burning out my Escalantes. I figured I would try a new model and with more cushion. I should have listened to my gut after reading the other reviews. These shoes are super stiff and the toe box doesn't feel as wide compared to other Altra models. My toes actually went numb and tingly the first time I put them on doing chores around the house to break them in before working the next day. The shoes weren't laced too tight either. Unfortunately, these shoes were not for me and I couldn't wait to take them off at the end of a long work day... Sorry Altra! Still a loyal customer but had to be honest...

Had to go 1/2 size up as felt smaller than last pair. Have had less than 3 months and already falling apart. Only wear this at work (hospital) so not outside or for running. Extremely disappointed. Have bought Altras for years and the quality of the product seems to be getting worse every year.

Good grief it's horrible. It's hard and the upper is so stiff it's just a disaster. Ever since Altra was bought out it's been a disaster and disappointment shoe after shoe. The Forward Experience is comfy though, but the grassroots of Altra has just declined so much i can't even recommend it to anyone anymore. Are the creators of the shoes even runners? So very sad.

Bring back the original Torin. Out of 8 pairs I have purchased this is the worst. The razor tongue was fixed but the feel of the shoe is awful now with the high heel collar and more narrow shape.

I've worn Torin's for several years now and multiple versions. However, these are much narrower than previous versions. You've deviated from the shoe shape! They hurt my feet and I can only wear them for very short periods of time. Too expensive to not wear. :(

This shoe seems fine for walking, but caused pain when running. The heel collar is very hard and rubs the ankle bone. I love the Torin 5's. I hope they will go back to a soft heel collar next model.

I am an OR nurse and wear these m-f for 8 hour shifts. I have only had them 1 month and the material has worn out and made holes along the natural crease where the toes bend when you walk. I absolutely love how comfortable these shoes are but being $$ and worn out in a month is unacceptable. I am very disappointed

I've been wearing the Altra Escalantes in a 9.5 for years and love them. The same size in the Torin felt too tight across the top of my foot. I returned them.

I LOVED this shoe at the beginning and 3 weeks into training my heels started getting blisters and I never get blisters. The extra heel material that rises up the back of the heel is unnecessary. There is no heel lock-stability feeling. Truly bummed as I initially loved AND recommended to friends. I hope their heels are chewed up like mine are.

I've been wearing Altra's for years, and have worn several types all successfully. But I thought I preferred the Torin, after slipping on an old pair for a while. So I was excited to see yellow, a great new color, and ordered the Torin 7. I was so disappointed, that they were uncomfortable almost immediately and didn't get any better. The area around the top of the ankle seemed to cut into my foot, first one foot then on both. Overall it just didn't feel good, like they always have in the past. I tried on the Escalante, which I've worn in the past, they felt good, but I decided to try the Olympus, which feels great so far! I wear them for running only, predominantly a road runner.

I’m switching from the now discontinued Torin plush 4, and when I called Altra they told me this is what I should switch to. The shoe looks much sleeker than the the older model. The heel and toe box fit perfectly for my size 7.5 foot BUT that is the end of this happy tale. The tongue is simultaneously flimsy and doesn’t cover the entirety of the top of my foot because it rolls up.. The top of the shoe is so tight across the upper part of my foot (medial cuneiform) that it makes this shoe unwearable. I’m returning and hope I can find something that will work to replace the best sneakers I have ever worn for my feet

The support is good, but they squeeze my feet around the ball of my foot. They leave my feet red and sore. I've worn the escalantes in the past, and those were perfect. The switch to torin wasn't a good one. Unfortunately, I will be shelving these and going back to my older pair.
