The size (length) is correct but the front is too tight for hammer toes.

Love the wide toebox, however the quality is lacking. Purchased in April, I've worn these once a week for a 2.5mike walk, and now 18 wears later there is a hole in the back of the heel. This caused an uncomfortable last walk and blister. Unfortunately I will not be purchasing more Altras because they didn't even last 6months. I'll go back to my Brooks.

Shoe is an odd fit. Feels narrow in certain places but wide in others. Numbness in feet with these shoes. Laces also run short having to replace since I missed the return date. Wish I had opted for a different pair since I heard great things about this brand.

Let me start off by saying, I have LOVED Altra and any version of the Torin shoe they have come out with. I have never had any issues in the 6 years that I have been a customer and the 15+ pairs of shoes I have bought and gone through from them. I run almost every day and have been a distance runner for over a decade now with my fair share of nasty blisters. BUT the blister I got from running just TWO miles in these shoes is by far the worst one I've ever experienced and has put me out for over 2 weeks (and maybe more as it's still healing). The blister is on the inside of the arch of my foot too so it's nearly impossible to avoid putting pressure on it while walking. I should have stopped running when I felt the blister come on, but I was only a mile out from my house so thought "how bad could one mile back be?" That one mile was NOT worth it. If it wasn't so graphic, I would post a picture of the blister for reference as a fair warning to all who dare try this shoe. I will be tossing these as I fear if I donate them someone else will suffer the same fate. The reason I gave this review 2 instead of 1 stars is because, even though these pair of shoes have failed me, no other Torins have. In the end, maybe these were just a defective pair that I received and not everyone will have the same painful and upsetting experience that I have had.

The toe box felt too shallow--tops of shoes rubbed tops of my toes.

The last model the soles were coming off within days of wearing so I was excited about this new design. However, I wore them for three days straight and have never had so much pain in my heal and toes.

The toe box height (from the floor to the top of the foot) is way too shallow making the shoe dig into the top of the foot. I had always loved this shoe. Then had to wait for the tongue issue to be resolved, And now you go and change the toe area spacing and sizing. I was on vacation when these finally arrived, and now too late to return. Disappointing. (And I have slender feet with no excess weight/wideness issues.)

I switched over to Altras based on the recommendation of my podiatrist for the wider toe box. Are the comfortable? Absolutely! But, in less then a month, my shoes have cracks on the soles from daily walking. These shoes are just not going to last. Frustrating for the price paid.

I have been buying old Torin 4.5's online. I love the narrow heel and wide toebox that fit like a glove. Was hopeful for the current model, but rectangular fit with narrow toe box and wider heel.

Returned them. comfortable sole but upper material is stiff , almost has a cardboard feel. Definitely doesn't feel like premium materials. The tongue is better then "the slasher 6" tongue but not enough to recommend them. Ever since VF took over they feel different and not real enjoyable to run in like they use to once upon a time. This was my last ditch effort at hoping for a great Torin, think I'll stick with my trusty Hokas and reliable Topos. I used to spend a lot of$ on Altra running shoes but I'm done.

I love the feel of these shoes. I bought a pair then they tore a few months later so the store allowed me to return but the next pair tore in the same place.

Awful wear pattern. This is the second pair of Torin 7s I've had in the last 9 months and second pair to get holes in the heel in less than 4 weeks. Bad quality. I wish it wasn't the case cause they are comfortable.

I have been wearing Altra Torin running shoes for a few years now. They were recommended to me for the wide toe box. I really liked the first couple of shoes I've bought but it seems like every time I buy the next model something has changedlike the stiff tongue in the shoe that literally bruise the top of my foot. This time, the shoe seems to sit higher on my foot so that they rub against my ankles when both running and walking. They are painful to wear. I haven't had to wear them in the rain yet and I see the review saying that they are dangerous. That also scares me. My last pair wore out behind my heels with not nearly the miles that I normally put on a shoe.

The soles were comfy, however both shoes rubbed on my outside ankle bones. The irritation was exacerbated by running or walking quickly

The footbed is ok, but the material over the toe is too tight. I have worn them less than 10 miles and the material on the heel is coming apart. I have worn them less than 10 miles because the heel support goes to high up the ankle and makes my Achilles hurt. Very disappointing and would not buy again.

I loved my Torin 6s even with its poor materials that wore out quickly. So after two pairs of 6s I was excited to try the 7s. They feel like a completely different shoe (in the worst way), and not even an Altra shoe! The laces come too far down the foot. The toe box is incredibly short/uncomfortable/narrow and presses on big toe joint. These are also ridiculously cushy like HOKA's which isn't something I enjoy. The 6s had a much better feel without being HOKA levels of excessive cush. I am very sad these shoes aren't what I expected after wearing Torin 6s for a couple years. I wish I could return them for a pair of 6s because my feet hurt!

These are my favorite shoes for all my ultra marathons unfortunately, these were FALLING APART after my first run, I've never seen this happen. I wish quality control was up to par and noticed this mistake before I spent $100+ dollars for a pair of shoes I will have to replace after a few long runs. Super sad

Love the cushion but these shoes are extremely painful on the top of the foot where the laces end. The laces are way too short. I can't return them to the retailer I bought them from so I have these shoes that I cannot wear and don't think anyone else can either.

WHY would you CHANGE the TOE BOX from ORIGINAL to more narrow Standard yet still call it a TORIN??? No wonder this Torin 7 has so many complaints from long time Torin lovers. What a marketing brand mistake! PLEASE GO BACK TO ORIGINAL toe box on future Torins!!!

Loved my Torin 5s. Never been so frustrated in a model change! Toe box is no longer comfortable, laces won't stay tied, feet hurt even after several months. Please go back to old model.

There is no roomy toe box here. I've been wearing Torins since the 4.5 Plush and they have sadly gone downhill with each new model. My feet are so crunched in these shoes that they go numb. I won't buy them again unless they bring back the roomy toe box.

I have loved Torins for many versions and have tried this version twice even tried to go up half a size and both times it felt fine except on the outside by the pinkie toe where it felt hard and very uncomfortable to wear. Hoping the next version feels better.

Wanted a new pair of Torin's as loved my Torin 5s. These fit very differently and don't seem to be breaking in. Will return

Was disappointed in this shoe! Loved my Altra trail running shoes especially for the zero drop and comfortability but I wanted a pair for road/walking adventures so I was directed to purchase these. After two weeks of wear I still had so much foot pain, it's way too tight on the sides but it was so loose around my ankle. If I had sized up it would be simply too big. No amount of breaking in was going to help the tightness. It also gave me weird hip pain too, which I've never experienced before, and it ceased once I stopped wearing the shoes. Had to return :/

I have heel/ankle pain so I'm constantly trying out shoes from different brands. These were my first Altra. They did not work out at all. They made my pain worse. Not only that, the black ones are actually blue. Anyway, I went out of the country right after receiving them. When I got back I reached out to Altra for a return. They told me that even though it was just over the 30 days, they couldn't do a return, only 'possibly' an exchange depending on the condition of the shoe. I explained that I was unable to ship the shoes due to being out of the country and they couldn't even make an exception. Now I'm here months later with the shoes sitting in a box in my house unused.
