I was holding on to my Torin 4s for too long because they are the best running/walking shoes I've ever worn. I wore a 9 in those and never had any issues. I originally ordered a 9 in these Torin 7s since they should have been similar enough, but they were way too tight (I felt my feet start to tingle after wearing them inside for about 10 minutes, without tying them any tighter than I usually tie my shoes), so I returned and ordered size 9.5. They fit better now, but I just wish companies would keep good things how they are. The material of the 7s feels different, sort of stiffer and tighter knit, and even though the shoe is still "foot shaped," it doesn't feel near as comfortable as my Torin 4s. I think they feel a bit shorter/squatter I guess -- like there's less space on the top of my foot, so they still feel tighter than my 4s ever did. I will keep the 7s and hopefully get used to the different feel, but man, I should have bought multiple pairs of the 4s when I could because companies always change things and usually for the worse.
All that said, I still think Altras are some of the best shoes for me due to the wider toe box and zero drop design.

The Torin 7 has an odd fit. I have 2 other Torin models and wear the same size in all of them. However, this newest model has an incredibly stiff upper. The length and width of the shoe feel true to size but with the upper being so stiff, and there seeming to be less room between the inside of the shoe and the upper itself, the shoe ends up fitting tighter overall. It feels like there is barely any room between the top of my foot/toe area and the upper. For reference, I have pretty low volume feet and they are slim-average. I cannot wear mid weight socks with these as I can with my two other Torin models (4.5 and 6). That being said, these are okay for casual wear but I do not think I would want to put significant miles in these at any given time. I hope that with the next model they go back to having more flexibility in the upper.

Love the support and confidante on the foot bed, but definitely snug across the top - need to up the size or width.

The Torin 6 was my introduction to this brand. I wore out two Torin 6 pair before the 7 came out. Overall, I am happy to have found a brand and style that caters to my foot's natural shape (wider at the toe box and narrower in the heel). The change to a softer edge on the tongue is very comfortable. The additional height of the sole is good; I always felt that the Torin 6 was a little skimpy. I like the feel of the additional cushion underfoot. But I feel like the toe box is just SLIGHTLY narrower than the 6, and I am disappointed that the widest part of my foot rubs. Please don't make your toe boxes narrower; the natural shape of your shoes is their winning characteristic!!

The only Altra road shoe that fits anymore. I have to order the wide as the standard toe box is too narrow. Would love a more neutral color for the wide fit, but at this point functionality over fashion.

I love this show and love the colors! It's an improvement over the 6s in my opinion. I still love my 5s but they're so over used and have holes at the toes. I don't know why they got away from the original shape????? Not everyone has a skinny foot.

Love the look, but the right shoe rubs on my lower ankle. Tried different socks, but did not help. I have several pairs of Torin 7 (not this new version, though) that fit and feel great. Therefore, I am returning these.

A good improvement over the previous Torin versionbut the color choices are somewhat hideous. I ended up buying the bright blue color and pretty much won't wear the shoes again until winter when they're mostly covered up with longer pants. Reminds me of something a clown would wear. I noticed the men's colors are better..maybe should have bought a pair on "that side of the fence."

While this wasn't a bad fit, I'm still having trouble getting a pair that is as good as the old TIMPs. I ended up buying version 6 of this shoe- wide toe box plus narrower heel.

I love these shoes but they are a bit narrow for my feet and after wearing awhile they rub on a bunion. I'm hoping that improves after time

Very comfortable right out of the box. Only complaint I have is that my heel slips. Tried to lace it so heel is locked in place, but shoelaces are too short. Are there longer laces available?

Okay this fixed so many problems in the torin 5 and 6. It's no torin 4, because it's definitely not as wide. However, the improvement over the most recent versions is incredible. I can finally wear Altras again.

First of all, I bought these shoes and this is NOT a sponsored review in any way. I've worn Altras for years now--Torins, Escalantes, and Rivera.
The Torin 7 is very comfortable. They've made some obvious improvements on the shoe (the updated tongue, updates to the heel cup being notable) and I really like the shade of blue that they picked. I'm not a huge fan of the increased stack height of the sole, but it's not the worst. And it feels like the "foot shape" is gradually getting narrower and narrower, which is annoying. The foot-shaped shoe is the primary reason I switched to Altras so I don't appreciate them gradually turning into "conventionally" shaped shoes.
I skipped out on the Torin 6s after hearing about the sole separation issues. While I've only had this pair of 7s for a little over a month, the sole is still in tact! I will update if it separates.
One issue that I have with all of my Altras is that I gradually get a hole in the upper portion of the fabric - where my big toe lifts while walking. Given that this is still a fabric upper, I anticipate that it will wear similarly to my other Altras.
I really like the blue version of these shoes. One of my biggest complaints with Altra is that the color choices are hideous. I like lilac, light blue, light teal, gray, and some light pink colors. I've owned Altras in salmon, raspberry, shades of blue... this one is my favorite (but I'd still like them to reconsider some of their color choices!) Mostly I pick this company because they have zero-drop, foot-shaped shoes but I'd still appreciate it if they would offer feminine colors and styles!
Overall, I am happy with my Torin 7s and would purchase them again.

The update is fantastic on the Torin! I love how light it is, and the balanced cushion is great when I'm on my feet a lot. It fits my foot really well and is super comfortable. Overall just a great shoe!

My intro to Altras was the Torin 4.5 plush. I loved them for the wide forefoot and narrow heels, as well as the 0 drop. They lasted a really long time, but I thought it was time for an upgrade. I purchased the Torin 7 knowing that it comes in the standard fit and not the OG fit. I don't know what the 4.5 was but I will assume they were wider. I love the padding on this model, it will be great for working retail, but I don't love how narrow they are in the forefoot! Tie box is still wider than normal shoes but not as wide as the old model. And the forefoot before the toe box is significantly more narrow! If I could get the upper shape of the LP models with the padding of the Torin7 I would be thrilled! Altradon't abandon that original shoe shape! It was the best!!

I sent this shoe back because I accidentally ordered a half size too small. It felt pretty narrow, but that could have just been the size. I might reorder them in the correct size and see how they fit. I'm used to wearing the Olympus.

I've been a longtime fan of the Torin - not as long as some, but since the 4th iteration. After the unicorn Torin 4 I've been so disappointed, especially with the brutal tongue on the 5. This one is so much better in all aspects over the Torins 5 and 6 - we're back to the soft tongue and the 7 has superior cushioning. I couldn't believe the difference on my first run with the 7 compared to the 6. With the latter I was starting to get ankle pain, likely because the shoe had minimal cushioning and wore down rather quickly. I hope this 7 has more miles in it than the 6 did honestly I'm finding they wear out quicker than they used to, but maybe that's just me.
My top request now, Altra, is that you offer the wide sizing in all color options.

Use these shoes for trail running and overall very happy with the shoes. It has a cushioned feeling when I run and is very sleek looking. My only complaint is that the toe box is a little tight and would probably be better if I went a half size up. I would very much recommend these shoes to anyone interested!

I got really excited reading about the new Torin 7 and how the midsole is extra cushioned. I tend to run on my midsole and really felt supported. I do think if I went up a half size the shoes would be way more comfortable. The toe box is pretty standard but the mid shoe is a bit narrow.

I liked how my feet felt in these shoes. Usually before I'm around the block my feet start hurting but I didn't have that issue with these shoes. I did feel the burn in my claves though.

I just finished a hard training cycle, so I was looking for cushy shoes to help with my recovery phase. I found them to be more forgiving when walking than running but still comfy.

Knee issues kept me from trying these on runs but I did get a lot of good walks in! I love the extra room in the toe box. Never having tried shoes that have more space for natural foot spread, it did take some getting used to but overall I liked how these felt both when standing for long periods and when moving.
Overall good cushioning for arches, I could have used a little more in the heel though. I've noticed in some running shoes the interior cushioning/ support will cause my ankles to roll outward but I did not experience that with these.
My only complaint would be that the laces laid directly on my toe joints/ sock seam which caused some friction. That might be a personal issue though.
*I received these free in exchange for a review but the review content is 100% my personal opinion after trying them.

I normally have issues with running shoes being to tight and narrow so I was spectacle about this shoe. I have worn them now for my daily runs for about a week or so and my feet love them!! They run true to size and width. My stride is easy, they are very supportive and my back pain has even decreased!! I will be buying them again.
