As someone who has gone through two pairs of Torin 6's, I love the improved cushion of the Torin 7. It also feels stiffer and more sturdy. But, I'm not sure if the cushion elevated my foot so it felt more squished? Felt narrower and tighter than the 6. I don't think this felt like the standard fit. Great shoe and great products. I'm an Altra fan, but maybe not this model for me.

Initial thoughts after a few short runs and extensive walking: - Width is perfect. Some of Altra's newer shoes have been too narrow for my liking from a company that prides itself on a wide toebox. I was happy to find these being wide enough. - That being said, the top-to-bottom roominess is a little lacking. They felt somewhat constrictive in the instep/forefoot region. I think they will likely stretch out with more wear, as I have had similar issues with previous Torins. - Tongue update is great. The previous versions did not dig into my foot/ ankle, as some people complained, but the tongue did seem to slip around a lot. This version is comfortably padded and stays in place. - Not sure I can tell they have more cushion in the sole. I did not think this was an issue with previous models, and these felt good from a cushion standpoint on walks and runs. - Lighter weight - Heel collar feels good when running in a straightaway and on even ground. When I turn corners or run on uneven ground, it tends to dig into my lateral malleolus (outside of ankle) a little. It is not excruciating and may soften up a little with more wear. Previous versions did not do this.

I always run in a high drop shoe so was a little nervous about the 0 drop in the Altra. But I walked three miles in it and it was smooth and soft the whole way. My feet felt like they got a good workout. The upper and tongue are very much improved from the Torin 6.

I have a collection of Torin 6s. It's my go to shoe unless there is snow on the ground, then I run in Lone Peaks. I was very excited to try the Torin 7s before their release. The shoes look great. I like the swirl pattern in the fabric. When putting them on for the first time I had to loosen the laces several times until they were comfortable. I wear 10.5 women's in Torin 6. I think I need an 11 in the 7s. The toe box is also not as wide as I am used to with Torins. I have always liked that I can wiggle my toes in my Altras. I'm hopeful a few more runs will loosen them up. I'll also stop in my local running store to try the next size. Torins are still my go to for summer Wisconsin running.

The tongue is definitely better, improved cushion from previous version, and comfortable for all day wear. I love the wide toe box of Altra's, it allows my foot to sit very naturally and comfortably. The one thing that could be improved are the color options.

i use this shoes for my easy, shorter mileage runs to work different muscles and stretch my lower calves a bit. the cushioning is great and the upper/tongue is vastly improved. very balanced.

While I do not run in zero drop shoes, I wear these as a comfortable everyday shoe. My favorite shoe from Altra has been the Rivera because of the slightly narrower toe box, but the Torin 7 does not feel all that wide! The cushion is fantastic, my feet are happy even after wearing them all day! If you've been a fan of the Torin in the past, go get this version too!

They're great! Better than Torin 6, waaay better than the debacle that was Torin 5. Almost as cloud-like as Torin 4.5 plush (gold standard, IMO). Great structure, responsive to varied surfaces, LOVE!

I love the plush ride of the Torin line and this new version is no different. They are my favorite shoe for a long run. The toe box feels so much more roomy and comfortable with the new design of the fabric. The tongue has been redesigned and does not shift to the side like the 6 does either. However, as much as I love the other additions, the shape of the heel overall is higher and this actually cuts into my lateral malleolus, (yes, I looked that up), and causes me pain if I run on any uneven surface.

Love this shoe and it's been one of my daily trainers for years. Toe box runs a bit narrower than the previous Torin's, so will opt for the wide next time. Cushion feels snappy right out of the box.

I have 2 other pairs of Altra's and bought these for more cushion on the road. These cause terrible pain at the joint of my pinky toe. I gave them a month, tried loosening the laces, but no good.

Almost perfect, but cannot recommend due to lack of durability. I really like these running shoes for 2 reasons: 1) There is extensive cushion (though I add my own inserts) and 2) The wide toe box. I got these in size 5.5 wide and this is the first pair of running shoes that was actually wide enough and does not aggravate my bunions. These are my favorite running shoes and I definitely will buy Altra shoes for running in the future. However, after barely over 2 months (and use about 4 times per week running around on paved roads), I noticed that there are small holes forming on the medial part of each shoe near where it bends when running or walking. These shoes are too expensive to be fraying and forming holes after only about 2 months of non-daily use. If Altra would fix the durability of the mesh, I'd buy them again, but these are too expensive for this poor quality of mesh.

The shoe tipped my foot onto my big toes, which is where I have problems. Otherwise, they were comfortable.

Liked Torin 6 better. Thought I would like more cushion, but these weren't responsive enough for my runs. Put strain on my foot. Great as casual shoes though (blue). No complaints walking in them. These would be better with some drop.

I loved the color and look but a few minutes after trying these on I realized they cut into my outer ankle bones on each side because the sides of the shoe were too tall. I've never experienced this.

This shoe provided a great deal of support and comfort. However, when wearing them at the gym, they proved to be too narrow and my feet felt numb on the treadmill. I've never had this happen with an altra shoe before.

New to running intentionally and new to no drop and wide toe box, but my Lone Peaks really made a great impact and led me to road shoes with similar desires. While I believe the toe box is true to width, it's lacking in depth which causes it to feel tighter than what I'd expect from Altras. I had hoped for a similar feel to my Lone Peaks when it came to fit. First wear or two I experienced some discomfort/numbness in the toes, but ultimately decided to keep them since the problem seemed to get better with more wears and I had purchased them at a discount. Overall I was hoping for a spacious, no drop shoe for the road equivalent to the Lone Peaks, but this shoe missed the mark.

These shoes feel true to the width for me, but I do have a very basic foot. I'm a long time wearer of the Lone Peak, but wanted something with a bit more cushion for the pavement. After a few weeks of running in these, I started getting this strange knee pain. The laces would also untie quite frequently, even with a double knot. Once I returned to my Lone Peaks, I haven't had a single twinge of knee pain. After reading all the comments below, clearly I should've done research before buying! Looks like there were some QC issues here for sure.

Finally found a wide shoe that has everything I need. Wide toe box that does not press on my bunions while staying on my heel. With shoe inserts for high arches, they were most comfortable shoe I could find. Problem is, never in stock and only have wide in 2 colors. The notify me does not really work. It keeps saying back in stock when it's not. Not sure why they cannot get these shoes made or why they do not offer wide in more neutral colors. Please figure this out!

I like the wide toe box although I feel it could be wider, and I am fairly narrow. The heel is definitely not narrow enough for me and my heels slip and rub and already there are holes on the inside after only one month of use.

I have been wearing Torins for years and these are my least favorite. The toe box depth is shallow and feels cramped. The shoes feel heavy on my feet, and I find myself choosing to wear my older versions over these. Also, they are not as soft under foot.

I absolutely love the feel of these issues! However, in such a short time, they're falling apart. The inside heel is worn and there's a hole on both feet.

I like how they fit, but the inside tears up in less than 100 miles of walking. Customer service was not helpful; said it was all wear and tear. Not impressed.

These shoes were comfortable at first, but within just a few weeks I noticed that they were causing my ankles to roll in every time I wear them. My husband and chiropractor both commented on it.

My only problem with these shoes I have known others with this edition as well, they don't stay tied. I do not like double knotting my shoes due to swelling in my foot.
