Gift for my nephew. He said he liked it, but it was before he used it.

Here's the bad- 1. No zipper to close the bag. I really wish I'd noticed that. I'm going to try to rig something up-- maybe a large clip of some sort. 2. The shoulder straps are not what I expected. They are only about an inch wide and the material feels thin. I would have preferred thicker canvas straps. But- I like the bag overall. It'll fit my largish laptop along with a sleeve as well as the mouse and power cord. The rounded handles are nice and thick, feel comfortable in my hand. Several pockets of varying sizes. And-- this is fairly lightweight but still feels sturdy. Much better than my backpack which weighs too much. I use it only when I'm traveling. I've been trying to find a good laptop bag. I like this one but the lack of a zipper bothers me. Too easy for stuff to spill out if it falls over. And the straps. Still- I give it 4 stars because I like other aspects of the design that I have not found in other bags. And trust me-- I've tried! This is the 4th bag I've ordered. Returned or gave away the others.

This bag was my birthday present to myself and has truly changed my life. I was using just a plain canvas tote as my daily carryall for school, which was always a horrible jumbled mess. Having all these pockets has made my life far more organized; every time I need to get something I know exactly where it will be. The different types of carrying handles/straps have also been great; I don't always like a lot of weight on my shoulder. The fact that it stands up completely on its own thanks to the wide bottom has been a great benefit, too. Only things I wish were different are: that the mesh pocket that's outside the laptop pocket is basically worthless because it doesn't have elastic to keep it tight so instead of staying tight up to the laptop sleeve is expands like 5 inches outwards. Doesn't make for a tidy bag. I might try to hand sew elastic into it, which will be a pain. Same for the mesh water bottle sleeve. There should be like a string closure at the top of that as well. Otherwise, wish it was made in America, but the price point is appropriate for one that's imported.

Like the stying of the bag. Lots of great compartments to keep things organized. It'd be perfect if it had a bit more width to fit all the teacher's guides I often bring home.

It is very well made with lots of pockets. My only regret with it, is I had hoped it would be a bit wider at the bottom, to fit my lunchbox in it (my fault as I didn't measure out the posted sizes).

I Like my bag. I use it for work. The only fault is is that the very bottom of the bag should be a little bigger. It tips over all the time. The quality is nice.

Dear LL Bean, I love all the compartments! If only there was a crossbody strap to help support long schleps I would have purchase. Alas, a solid try.

Even empty, it's much heavier for daily use than I expected. Also decided a zipper or snap closure would be more practical.

I bought this bag to carry my sizable notebook and work paperwork. It's made of heavy canvas and has lots of helpful pockets, but it has no way to close the main pocket either with magnets or a zipper- the only reason I rated it four stars instead of five. Aside from that, I really love this bag. Meets all my independent work needs.

Liked everything. Since it doesn't have a zipper closure at the top, I'll probably use a large zipper pouch for my essentials. Won't be carrying much to keep it lightweight, but it will be handy when I need the extra space.

Very well made and functional. I wanted a bag to bring lunch + paperwork back and forth from home to work. This works well and I love that there's a pocket for a tumbler, but I wish it were slightly wider to accommodate a lunch container. Very pleased, overall.

It's a little heavier than I thought it would be. Overall I am pleased with it and look forward to using for many years to come.

It's a decent bag and is suitable for my needs. However, it's overpriced for the quality.

Great bag for taking to work, plenty of pockets to slip your cell phone, wallet, snacks, small umbrella, etc. I just wish LLBean would have made the bottom width at least 6" to comfortably fit food containers. Overall I would recommend this item. 8

I love this bag! I carry a lot of beverages with me to work and I love the interior water bottle pockets. It also has just the right number of smaller pockets for me to keep things organized, a pocket on the outside for my keys and my ID badge. The only thing I wish is that it were about 3 inches shorter I have to reach down into the bag to get my water bottles and I wish it were about the depth of the bottle. Otherwise I couldn't be more pleased! If they ever offer it in a more interesting color I would be all over it.

Bought this bag in black to replace an earlier version of the Nor'easter bag that gave out after 4 years of every day use. Been using this for a few weeks to hold personal belongings and paperwork while I commute to and from work on public transit. What I like: lots of pockets to organize (I use every one), the long handles, the light weight (as compared to the Nor'easter), and relative compactness despite holding a good amount of stuff. What I think is lacking: no clip for keys (seems like a major oversight), and not as water resistant as the Nor'easter (probably because it's open-top - used during an actual Nor'easter, and had rain in the bag after). I also wish this had a cross-body strap along with the handles - I sometimes pick up groceries on the way home and miss not having to worry about a bag sliding off my shoulder when doing so. All-in-all, it's a pretty solid bag for commuting.

This bag was purchased as a computer bagthere is no protective padding for the computer! Love all the compartments both handles are greatonly complaint is lack of padding for computer. Otherwise highly recommend!!!

It was too heavy, even when empty, for me to carry any distance.

The quality seemed fine, but the bag was too flat for my intended use. I was looking for something in between a purse and diaper bag to carry all the things my toddlers need. This would work well for carrying a laptop and notepads.

Love it, but wish the top had a zipper. If you like and use a backpack, this is for smaller items

I purchased this bag and the design was great with the exception of not having a zipper for the main compartment! Other's have registered the same comment. The leather handles separated from the canvas base, so ultimately I returned it. Now, they've raised the price and STILL not added a zipper to the main compartment. The bag is tall and top heavy. I had the bag tip over a few times and the contents spill out everywhere. Most annoying! LL Bean says they respond to product suggestions from customers. I haven't seen that happen in this case. The bag is not worth $120!

I loved this bag when I saw it online in khaki but there was no green listed. I decided to contact customer service and ask if it would ever be coming out in green to which they said yes there was a back ordered amount of green being produced but may not be sold online so the easiest thing to do was purchase the khaki and then contact them again to basically do a back ordered exchange for the green. They had no photos of the color but I presumed it would be the same bag, handles and all, just different canvas color. Imagine my surprise when a beautiful green bag but with the ugliest light blonde leather handles arrived at my door! I guess I would have thought customer service would have said something about different leather color but alas, no. I just don't understand why you'd change the gorgeous dark leather handles from the khaki bag to these blonde ones. It was a missed opportunity in my opinion. As it is, I love the bag itself so now I am looking into leather dye. Not sure if it'll be worth it big picture though. Please make this in green but with brown handles!

Love the bag, but it ripped the first time I used it. The bag is still usable; I stitched the outer and inner layers back together. Fit my 13" laptop without a problem. If you plan to travel by plane, I'd look for a bag with more zippers. This only has one small (phone) and one med size (cords, headphones maybe) zipper compartments.
