The Large was too small for my husband's feet (size 11 US men's shoes), so I exchanged them for XL. The XL is barely any larger, still too small. They stretch, but when stretched to where they appear to fit, they are pulled too thin and too tight. Very disappointing. LL Bean needs to go back to the way they made these a few years ago.

I've been buying the Cotton Rag socks for 10 years. They've been so durable and well-made, I'm still wearing the first ones I bought. The last couple of years, there's been a significant change in how these socks are made quality, fit, material. The sizing is completely off, and inconsistent from pair to pair. I wear a women's 7 shoe and always buy the Medium size. The Medium size now looks like it's for a child, and even the Large has sometimes been too small/tight. I went through about 4 different returns last year because nothing I bought or exchanged fit. In one two-pack I bought, all four socks were different sizes, and in another pack, there was a large hole at the toe seam on one of the socks. I'd hoped L.L. Bean would have improved these in time for this season, but unfortunately I ran into the same problem with this purchase, and returned them the next day.

I wear a women's 10.5 and ordered a L. The cuff portion was super tight (and I have thin legs), and the foot was thin. The toe seam was annoyingly scratchy, and even though I generally wear my socks inside out to avoid this, the socks were so thin and tight, I just returned them. Really suprised, but should have listened to negative reviews.

Very comfortable socks; however, after washing twice, one pair has a hole in it already!

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
The fit was small for an XL, and the quality was absolutelty a huge disappointment given its L.L. Bean, these socks have gone way down hill since I bought last, which was years ago. Where's the COTTON. if you are used to the quality of these Cotton Ragg Socks from yesteryear, these will NOT meet your needs!! Shame on you L.L. Bean!

Worst socks I've ever seen !!! Not warm! Size about HALF the size you think you ordered by the size chart!!! Bad quality and itchy , not cotton either!

I bought these socks a month ago and will not be buying them again. I've been buying these cotton rag socks for years and love them. I still have some of the the old ones in great shape! The new one went into hole on the first wearing!!

I bought these 3 months ago. I loved how they fit and felt and wore them a lot. However, both pairs of socks got holes in the heals in the 3 months. They did not hold up with use.

This is an awful product. LL Bean quality control needs to post a better response about corrective and preventive actions taken to address my earlier complaint.

Ok this is the third set I bought. I bought a set for my daughter and one sock was much smaller than the rest. I thought it was a fluke. I loved the ones I bought myself.. So in this order I bought more, exactly the same, the same size. These are far too short, they fall down. The quality is in the toilet. For these astronomical prices I would expect some quality control. So very disappointing. And as I assumed they would be as good as the first set I bought for myself, I took the packaging off so cant return them. $73 in the trash- I bought three packs. They are not really too small, they just fall down and slip off my feet. Now I remember why I stopped shopping at LLBean 10 years ago.

The actual socks purchased were adult, but when received were kid size and were ankle high. Not recommended. LL Bean Quality Control should have caught this.

Sold as "Cotton Ragg Socks" but actually a Cotton and Synthetic mixed fabric. Previous purchased same Cotton Ragg socks and were completely different fabric of soft loose cotton, new Cotton Ragg Socks' are stretchy coarse synthetic fabric and about 1/3 thickness and size of previous. Hope LL's marketing and purchasing read actual consumer reviews

These are the worst socks. They shrink even when I didn't put them in the dryer. I neglected to read the reviews before purchasing. I wouldn't recommend.

Deceptive because it's not 100% cotton but a blend with spandex and nylon which voids out them being "cotton" - they are a "cotton blend". Clothing has frequency and when you blend linen or wool or cotton with other synthetic petroleum based materials, you wipe out the benefits which comes with only 100% Synthetic materials have adverse health consequences because they are petroleum based. So I don't wear them. This is deceptive marketing because had I not looked at the fabric care, I wouldn't have known they aren't 100% anything.

I've ordered the cotton ragg sock for years because of the fit and long wear. This year I ordered an extra large that should be too large but I like that for around the house. These socks are tight and very stretchy, not at all like the old ones. I would'nt even call them ragg socks.

These socks are not true to size. I bought the large size. I am 11.5 and large is to size 12. They don't fit and I cannot wear them at all. Very very unhappy. I am in NJ

I've been meaning to call in. Both 3/4 pairs of the socks I made with this order are started to unravel after the first wash. I know this is uncommon since my ragg socks usually last a couple years!

These socks are WAY too small, WAY too short, almost miniature socks. Too tight on the foot! Nowhere close in quality to the way they used to be. They feel like children's socks.

One washing and drying turned these into socks fit for a 7-year-old. Maybe younger. The shrinkage -- permanent -- was breathtaking. Despite machine drying on "cool" setting. These should be labeled "dry clean only" in online description so potential adult buyers know to avoid them. I tossed mine in trash as sad lesson learned.

I loved these socks when they arrived but after only 8 weeks after receiving, I was surprised and disappointed that they already had holes in the heels. It's not as though I wear them every day. More like once or twice a week and I always wear shoes or slippers, so I'm not walking around the house in just the socks. When I contacted customer service and asked if it was an unreasonable expectation that they should hold up longer than 8 weeks, the reply was essentially a shipping label with an invitation to send them back. Appreciate the gesture, but would much prefer socks that last.

I bought Adult X Large Adult Ragg Sock . They do have a great deal of stretch in the too narrow foot...but ankle/calf part of sock is sooo narrow it is ridiculously small even with the stretchability. I do not recommend this sock.

These socks are way too small. Bean items used to be generously sized, so something went badly wrong here. Also would have expect higher cotton content in raggs.

After a few washes, there are holes in the material at the heels. At this price, the socks should last longer and the quality should be better.
