Well, the black socks were the size I ordered. The gray socks were not. The too-big gray socks are going back, along with the too-small boots I ordered.

Bought these socks several years ago. They're too short and, I assume due to the spandex, they slide down so much that when I take my shoes off, the heel of the sock is down under my arch! Please bring back the longer cotton Ragg socks without the spandex and nylon. They were wonderful!

Too Tight After Washing Socks !! Fit was never the same!!

These must be women or children size. I wear size 12 men's I ordered XL and they are like size small men's. Too much trouble to return so I'll donate them. I'd buy them if they had men's sizes though.

These are not the same cotton ragg socks I've ordered a few years ago. They feel tight and hot. They do not breathe like I expect cotton should. I'm sending them back.

These are not the cotton Ragg socks I bought for years they are smaller, much shorter, hugely disappointing, especially for the high price I paid. I washed in cold water, dried low temp, and just made it worse. They literally look like children's socks. I don't have an LL Bean in my area, and being senior citizen, it's difficult to get out, trying to mail back, which they probably wouldn't take anyway since I've washed one of the two pairs. Disappointing, chalking up a pricey loss. Won't be ordering any more of the socks that used to be great.

Socks weren't very thick or comfortable. Stitching line along top of toes caused blisters.

I wear a mens 101/2, well within the size range for these socks. Right out of the package they looked small. They went on marginally well. However, after washing as directed they are way too small. Went right into the donation bag.

I found these socks to be way to small and uncomfortable. They are a size 10-12, I wear size 10. Just too difficult to stretch onto my foot, they feel very tight and small. Sorry, not good for me. In the past, I've purchased black mens ragg socks and I'm still wearing them !!

The socks themselves are nice, but the sizing chart is wrong. I followed the chart precisely, which puts my own shoe size (women's 9) clearly within the medium range. The medium socks are much too small. The sock heel came nowhere near my own heel. I ended up giving the socks to someone else, because after spending to have them shipped to me, I was not willing to spend more to ship them back. Disappointed.

Got medium as that's what the size guide recommended, but they ended up fitting way smaller. The heel of the sock doesn't reach the heel of my foot. Also, heads up that the return/exchange terms aren't great.

These are not the heavy rag socks I was hoping for. They are also very short.

A few years back, these socks were fantastic. Now they're way too small. I ordered the largest size (XL) even though my shoe size is a 10, and they were still too small. I can get them on, but I have to stretch them and they feel tight -- not a feeling a particularly like in socks. I wish Bean would go back to the way they made them before, ESPECIALLY since so many of the reviews complain about this.

They seem like very nice socks but they are way smaller than my older LL Bean Cotton Ragg socks. I ordered an XL because I read the reviews that said they run small. The new ones are actually smaller in the foot than the Large I ordered before. Due to multiple foot surgeries I can't tolerate socks that pull against my toes. Will send them back.

I was so excited to replace my LL Bean rag socks that I have purchased before (exact ones) but there must be a new formula for length and quality. I even put the old ones next to the new ones, and no comparison. New ones super stretchy- possibly less cotton and don't pull up as far. Same socks ordered ~2 years ago. Disappointed!

Had to return. Even though I ordered a size up the elastic around the ankles was too tight.

Have been searching a long time for Ragg Wool socks. These were on sale @alow price, so i bought a set. They are cotton but with heft of wool. Washed once, they shrank. Dont even think about a dryer..these need to be linne hung with shapers in them.( wide shampoo bottles, balloons or wrapped around a small log. Once the shaping is done & dry, theyre ok but still snugger than i care for around legs.

I had to double check my original order, and then the packaging, to make sure these were actually "XL"! Although they will S-T-R-E-T-C-H to get on my foot, I could not imagine wearing them all day, or having them stay up, after being stretched to fit. I wear a size 13 shoe, and these socks would be better suited for a size 8 to 10, max. Very disappointed and frankly--surprised, Mr. Bean.

Sock material is excellent. Unfortunately, the sizing isn't right. I wear a size 9 shoe and ordered XL. Disappointed with the sizing. I probably should have returned them.

Too small and tight weave. I ordered extra large as I am a women's 11 and they fit too snug for comfort

The sizing on this product is just off. Order one size larger than you need if you want a comfy fit.

I ordered one size larger than what I usually wear because so many people here said that these socks run small. Well they run SUPER small!!! My toes were scrunched and after wearing them 5 minutes there were indents on my calves from the squeezing. I am not a large person and wear size 7 shoes and the sock size I ordered for ladies shoes 10 to 12 were WAY too small. I have neuropathy in my feet and legs so I need a roomier sock. These were very disappointing and now I have to lose $6.50 from my refund when I return them!!! Insult upon injury!!! I have now ordered the mens size extra large, so God willing these will work for me - I can't afford to keep losing money on returns...I am retired and living on social security so money is tight!

I bought these from Zappos because I assumed I would get was the same socks that were on the LL Bean online store. Zappos ships much quicker. However, these run very small - much smaller than the larges I bought from LL Bean even though they are named the same and even have the same pics. They seem to be a similar thickness but the Zappos versions feel like a tighter knit. They don't look like the same socks when you put them side by side. So, I am a bit disappointed.

Purchased the two pack. The ones that developed a hole were worn about twice a week. For the price, disappointing. Other the hole, they were a five in comfort and a five in warmth.
