We chose the dark green. We havent used it yet, but the size and fit is perfect and the arm padding is conformable!

Durable fabric, plenty of pockets. Great color choices. The monogram adds the perfect detail. This bag is a great value compared to the multiple Amaz*n backpacks I've had to replace over the years, and compared to the price of athletic brand backpacks.

It is one of the best backpacks I have ever gotten.

I bought this backpack when I was 13 years old and now 27 years old. I recently brought it out to travel aboard and it did not disappoint. I love this backpack and holds so many memories. The only problem now is the nylon or sticky lining that is coming off and getting on my stuff when using, I hope that's not an issue with newer backpack, bc I am thinking about buying a new one!

Great and very roomy. Used for our cruise to Alaska.

My mother brought my son a LLBean backpack when he went into 3rd grade. He has carried it throughout elementary, middle school, high school, college at UT. Now he is 30 and still using it when he travels as over night bag or for hiking and/or fishing. It still amazes me that he hasn't destroyed it!! I always recommend LLBean backpacks , a true investment.

Absolutely love this bag! It is spacious and absolutely love the color! I have been using these backpacks for 30 years and they have only gotten better over the years. This was the only bag I used when I was a kid and now my own children get to enjoy them, too.

The color was much better than I expected, looks a little more bright online than in real life. An excellent backpack. no one makes them like LLBean!

Long message but I have to give you some backstory.... First, I would like to say that we love love love this backpack. It is large enough for everything for school... it even had wiggle room to squeeze in some extras. It has lots of pockets and a space for a water bottle. It has lots of sturdy zippers and it is an all around nice backpack. The kid had no issues carrying it and doing what she needed to do during the school year with the space in her backpack. And it is really durable. Imagine what one backpack endures in a school year... a lot!!! Now for why I decided to write this review.... So... my kid's backpack stitching was coming apart on one of the straps. I noticed it during the school year but knew I wouldn't be able to get it replaced in a short time span so she could still use it for school. She would have been devastated if I took her backpack away "for repair" or replacement. Mind you, the backpack did make it all the way through her 9th grade year of HS. I am sure the backpack saw a lot!!! LOL So... when I went online to submit for the warranty or for repair, it said it was out of warranty. I spoke to someone and they said an option would be to mail the backpack in for review to determine options. I was given a label at no cost to me. The person said, after they examine the issue they will determine if they can give us a new one because they don't fix them there because they are not made at L.L.Bean. Anyhoo, the lady just called to acknowledge receipt and their findings. Her name is Lisa. She was so pleasant and helpful. She even engaged in some chit chat as I am very chatty...LOL She stated, the backpack is not able to be repaired by them but she can send a new one. Unfortunately, they don't have the same color (vintage lavender) anymore and so she gave me the list of colors. I pulled it up online and we looked together. She said that color was super popular. I know when I ordered it (early...during her 8th grade year), it took like 2 months to come, but I knew I had plenty of time until the new school year began. Anyhoo, I couldn't make the decision without consulting the kid and so I had to wake her just to show her the color options and to let her pick. Lisa stayed on the line while I left to go wake the kid up and to get her opinion since it will be her backpack. I truly appreciate Lisa's patience and not making me feel rushed! So the kid chose Currant looks like burgundy. And Lisa said they will put her initials on the new one too. I say all this to say, I am very happy with L.L.Bean!! I love when companies stand by their product and not hassle the customers when something goes wrong to make it seem like it's the customer's fault. But instead the company makes it right It really is true when they say, you get what you pay for. You pay a little extra for a backpack and then you get good customer service as compared to buying a random backpack at some random store that does not specialize in backpacks. Actually, we have purchased backpacks for all of her stages of school (getting larger versions through the years) from L.L.Bean and I am still so happy with them!! Her other backpacks, which are smaller are still in good shape... just for the record. Anyhoo, I decided when I hung up with Lisa that I was gonna write a review because I am so happy with the product for the school year and even though it had a stitching issue, we had a good outcome... the need for customer service and warranty resolution.

I bought one 9 years ago my granddaughter for high school. She graduated h/s. & college is gong on her masters. Book bag still holding up Decided to order one for my 2nd granddaughter, she starting 7th grade

A little bigger than I expected it would be but I'm happy with it regardless

I bought one in 2001 to replace one that was stolen. Kept the replacement until 2018. Wonderful quality and worth the investment. Wish I could find the same color combination

My kids carry their entire HS work in these backpacks. It's crazy how durable these are - way beyond what is 'normal' usage.

Got this bag 8-10 years ago as a present. Have taken it literally everywhere from biking everyday to camping and have stuffed it til I don't know how the zipper has closed and had it jammed for the miles I've gone and up til about a week ago I have 2 rips in it they are in the pics and I can still jam it with the rips and have it still last. If you want your moneys worth for something then it's definitely this bag. It's not a book bag it's an on the go stressful life is hectic and crazy on the go bag that you can rely on and and get it done bag and not have to worry about bag

Very large and sturdy. My boys love them! A few weeks after receiving them I got a notice from the county stating clear back packs will be required, so bummed they can't use them this school year but happy they have a great backpack for anything else they may need to use them for! Knowing them, they will definitely put them to good use outside of school.

I got this for my son. He absolutely loves it. He likes the style, color, and he said it is very comfortable!

Great size for older kids/adults in school and/or travel. There are pockets for little items, well padded laptop/tablet spot, and plenty of open space. My kids are tough on zippers, so purchased these due to experience with durability on LL Bean backpacks. So far so good.
