Well made. Color is spot on. With its large volume, this can double as a hiking day pack.

I am an older adult who has been commuting to college with this backpack. I have now been using it for about 3 days a week for the past year. This backpack has been great overall. As a kid growing up we could never afford L.L. Bean backpacks for school but I did inherit a cousins hand me down backpack, which was the prior version of this bag. I used her old bag for a few years, after very carefully cutting out the stitching of the embroidered initials, which of course weren't mine. When I decided to go back to school I knew exactly which backpack I was going to get myself. It is durable, very spacious, comfortable and high quality. The one issue I have noticed is that the size of the mesh bottle holders have caused so many bottles to fall out due to the lack of height of the mesh. I now just use an insulated lunchbag for drinks/bottles, that I carry inside one of the compartments of the backpack, along with my 16 in laptop, notebooks and usually a sweater, plus so much more. It would be nice if they were more water proof/water resistant. I do love this backpack and I'm very happy with my purchase.

Spacious for all books, chromebook/case, lunchbox, etc. Also very comfortable on my 9th graders back!

We bought one last year and the zipper broke, there was no hassle bringing it back and getting one exactly like it!

My kids have always used LL Bean for their backpacks. They all have a ton of books and my 9th grader wanted a larger one. He used one from 1-8 and it still looks great. Let's hope this one takes him through college

Great School backpack. I wait a about a month before typing the review because I want to be sure I can give an accurate opinion. My son tells me it is comfortable and has plenty of space. I can tell it is made with good quality materials. And I like the design/style.

My son really likes the quality and comfort of this pack he said the only thing he would change would be making the water bottle sleeve on the side out of fabric, not mesh. Definitely not a deal breaker, though. Other than that, he's a fan.

Very roomy backpack that should last my highschooler through college and beyond. It is roomy enough for a weekend getaway. He can fit a lot into it and it looks like LL Bean's typical quality. I got him his first LL Bean backpack in elementary and he used it until now, although he wasn't using it daily in middle school because our school district has a clear bag policy, but he would take it everywhere else. We got this backpack about a month ago and I told him I expect it to be the last one i buy him until he's buying his own backpacks! I would recommend it.
