Wow, this is bad. I have purchased seven (7) of these corduroy shirts in the past. The styling has changed from a shirt to a very unflattering boxy jacket thing. The fabric is nice, but the cut is absolutely awful, especially on a petite person. No thanks.

If you decide to add side pockets to a garment WHY would use a different color and make the pocket liner gap open when the shirt is not buttoned up?????? Very disappointing! Otherwise it fits perfectly but will return it!

I love corduroy shirts and shirt jackets, but this was shaped so strangely that I looked like a pumpkin. It made me look really wide.

the side pockets are a drag, they make the shirt look bad. I have 2 others, older, they are better

I ordered two of these, in Bright Blue and Saddle Tan. The colors are gorgeous and I really wanted to like them, but ended up returning them because of poor construction. The puckered seams on one garment caused the side slits to curve up and out, affecting the shape of the garment; on the other the puckering caused the bottom front above the hem to sag into permanent wrinkles. I also didn't like the boxy cut, which made the garment shapeless and saggy.

I have a half dozen of these shirts from before they added pockets, and I really like them. As much as I like pockets, the shirts are now too stiff and have a band on the bottom to secure the voluminous pocket fabric, which adds bulk. I am disappointed.

I was looking forward to wearing this lovely, well constructed corduroy shirt this fall until I saw the tear in the fabric right out of the package! I was disappointed that it was not caught by quality control. L.L. Bean customer service was great to work with, so there was no problem returning the shirt.

I was so excited thinking you'd finally brought back my favorite corduroy shirt, but no. The pockets are weird - they sit on the side seam, which is further back than I would normally put my hands in my pockets. They also made it unflatteringly bulky and snug across my hips. Please please bring back the old shirt that was so well loved.

Beautiful gold corduroy. I so wanted the shirt to work. But the shape was too short and boxy -- and the inside fabric was weird. At first I thought I was sent a used shirt, that a customer had sewn a light blue fabric across the lower inside part of the shirt for some unknown reason. So, then I went on the LLB site and learned from other customers that this strange blue fabric was a part of the shirt's pocket design. Maybe this is a typical design outside the US? Anyway, I wish I'd read the comments before buying. Sadly, I sent the shirt back.

For me it was thicker and stiffer than I expected. I returned thinking that it was going to be too warm if worn indoors.

Very disappointed that they have changed this "Shirt" into a "Jacket" with lower side pocket slits and cheap material on the inside functioning as the pocket itself. Please return to the original design.

Like so many of you I wanted the old corduroy big shirt and this is nothing like it. The chest measurement is 2" smaller than the old style. The fit is very different. The pockets at the hem are very poorly constructed and a distraction. They clash with the shirt. The fabric is nice but still not as thick as old one. I wanted it to work but this shirt was not worth keeping.

I liked the color but the wide wale made it look to masculine. Also did not care for the band at the bottom.! Fit was perfect for me. I returned the shirt.

Nothing like the originals. I'd bought 2 before and loved them. What ever possessed someone to add the inside colored pockets. I've cut the pockets out. Not good.

Disappointing. I was thrilled to see the return of an old favorite. But unfortunately the new style isn't anywhere near as nice as the original. The fit of it is entirely different. I wear my old one often at this time of year, ordered one in same size and it doesn't fit as nicely at all. Also the weight of the fabric on the new one is much lighter, doesn't feel like it will stand the test of time. Love the idea of the pockets, but they are in a weird fabric that doesn't coordinate with the outside of the shirt/jacket. PLEASE bring back the original in fit and quality but add the pockets!

Not the same as before sadly. Large pockets on the sides. Double breasted pocket. Narrow fit. So prefer the older version. Don't know why they changed a great shirt but have found that llbean is always changing and not for the better. On the upside I love the color! Just wish it was the old shirt!

I have two of the OLD style corduroy shirts which I love. I ordered this one in the hope that it would be much the same. It Isn't! It is shorter, more boxy, the side slits are too short, the side slit pocket sits right on top of it, the top pockets are too large and they cover the entire front seemingly. I returned the shirt - please bring back the old style. I loved it and it looks like a lot of other women did too.

I have had this shirt before, and thought I would really like the change of pockets. The pockets are nice and big, but my brown shirt as light blue pockets-huge ones, and if you wear it open, it looks silly with blue floppy fabric hanging out. I did keep the shirt, but honestly, I should have returned it because the only way to wear it is buttoned, and because it is like a jacket, sometimes wearing it open would have been good! It has an unfinished look inside, as if it was meant to be lined, but someone forgot. My first disappointment from LL Bean ever.

Agree with so many others. I have 6 of the old school design and have loved them, was upset when they were discontinued. I am a pocket fan, but the side pockets are pretty useless--they are awkward and this isn't really a "shirt jac." I am happy there are now 2 chest pockets, though. Listen, LL Bean: Why mess with a great thing? Lose the side pockets. Maybe streamline the old design a tad. But get rid of this "new" fit/ design.

I purchased this corduroy shirt last year and was excited to add another color. Unfortunately, they redesigned the hand pocket area this year. If you like to layer and plan on leaving this shirt UNBUTTONED, beware, the inside pockets are HUGE...so huge that they are floppy and frumpy looking and draw negative attention. The color of the inside pocket did not even match the color of the shirt! The inside pocket was like a chambray blue and the color of the shirt I bought was saddle (brown). Very disappointed in this new design. Returned this item. I wish I had a picture to show, but I packaged it up and shipped it back too quickly. My shirt from last year did not have this issue.

This shirt is extremely short. No ability to purchase one in a tall size, which even a petite woman might like for an over the hip fit. They used to be cut longer, therefore the newer length and boxy cut, just don't cut it.
