I waited forever to Bean to offer a caramel color and, wanting to layer, I ordered one size larger (PXL) than last time. Unfortunately, after the initial wash in cold and hung to dry it is now tighter and shorter than my original PL which looks boxy and ridiculous and cannot be layered beneath at all for the skimpy tight arms, plus the hems curl, the collar and button placket look sloppy and wavy. I am so disappointed! The current just make it cheaper for a higher price business model is NOT working! It just makes people stop buying. Go back to Bean quality!

I really wanted to like this, but the shape was all wrong for me. Good fabric, well-made, but had to go back. Those large pockets in the front were the problem. It looked like I was wearing a tent.

About 3 year ago, the corduroy shirts were changed. I keep coming back every year to see if they were back to the old "Boxy" style. The answer is still "no".

I never placed an order for this shirt - waiting patiently for the old version of the corduroy shirt to come back.. Do not care for the double breast pockets, the side pockets, the inside pocket or the banded bottom.. Checking every year to see if the style has changed back. Possibly, do both versions in your next catalog. Thank you

I was very disappointed with the overall quality of this shirt. I purchased one probably ten years ago (pink with one pocket) not only am I still wearing it but also receiving compliments. Sadly this shirt didn't come close so I returned it.

I bought this shirt Fall of 2022 in the store in Mashpee, MA. I thought it fit me but when I got home so that this new style isn't as flattering as the old one. I have the old style on right now in a size Medium. I the new style because of the band on the bottom I had to go up 2 sizes because it is more fitted around the hips. Changing the style of this shirt wasn't an improvement. Also, I have a jacket I bought from LL Bean 4 years ago that used to have a hood. I'd like to buy another one but won't as there is no longer a hood on the jacket!

Quality was lacking for the price. Held up, I could see through it; thin for corduroy. Was expecting a substantial layer for winter

I was so happy when they brought these shirts back, but the pockets really take away the way the shirt feels. It feels more like a jacket. Just not the same.

Adding the pockets ruined the formerly wonderful corduroy shirts you carried. Maybe some women need added bulk there, but I don't. Also, making the shirt an inch or two longer and a little more generously cut in the waist to hip area would be great. After a 15# weight loss my old beloved size large corduroy shirt was too big. This new medium fits but with the pockets and length it is unflattering and will be given away. I love the fabric and the colors and would really like this to be available in a llittle onger, big shirt look sans pockets.

I was thrilled to see that side pockets had been added to the corduroy shirtI have 2 older corduroy shirts (w/no side pockets) that I wear often. This new shirt didn't seem to be the same fabric or fit. The design of the pockets needs to be changed. I returned it.

I ordered the pale pink color and the lining of the pockets are such a dark color that it shows through the pink corduroy. I was disappointed but am keeping it.

I bought several of these corduroy shirts because of the lovely colors. They appeared to be soft, plush, durable. In fact, they are well made but not cut for curves. This means even if you go up a size to accommodate your female form, you will only find that the items are larger, and remain disproportionate rather than following the lines of the body in a flattering way. I'm a plus size but proportioned exactly evenly, so the weight is not an issue. It is the cut. Just not hanging down properly when open and not comfortable when closed. The other thing that disappointed me with all of the shirts was the texture. Not at all soft inside, all the softness was reserved for the outside. Yet that outside was not at all that plush. I felt a bit scratchy and not at all cozy in the shirt, even though it was thin enough that it should not have felt stifling. The sleeves were the smallest bit short, which tells me After I wash and dry this it will be quite a bit smaller and no longer fit at all. If you are tall, very slender with a rather straight figure, or willowy instead of voluptuous, and you are not buying it for the texture, you will enjoy wearing the colors.

I adore LLBean clothes, but this shirt was not my cup of tea. Doesnt fit right and just hangs. Not attractive. Very awkward.

I had many of these shirts from years ago. I decided to buy a new one and was pretty disappointed in the structure. The material was much stiffer and bulkier than the older made shirts. And this one has a very strange partial inner liner in the front, kind of like giant floppy pockets. I have no idea why these are necessary. Also the buttoned cuffs were kind of tight around the wrists. I loved the pink color but I will return this.

This shirt is disappointing. Sleeves very tight, and the pockets distort the front closure. I got a tall and its same length as a similar shirt I already have. The fabric is nice and soft, but due to fit, sent it back.

I normally wear an XL shirt from LL Bean. This one I tried XL 1X and 2X. When the largest size fit my body the shoulders were a quarter of the way down my arms and the sleeves hung 3" below my hands. I have several Bean corduroy shirts size XL that I love. I just wanted another color. Very disappointed.

I couldn't wait to try this on. I love the finished look so I could wear it as a jacket, or shirt. Unfortunately, once again, there's a funky blue material sewn to form the pockets. Llbean, please stop mixing this blue fabric with these cute tops. I could actually see the blue through the front of the white shirt!

I still wear two shirts like this that I've had for 10 years. They wash well, and colors (deep pink and teal) have not faded, and shirts are still a long way from wearing out. However, the new shirts have HUGE pockets set into the side seams. Bulky and unnecessary. I'm going to remove them and will not be ordering another shirt. So sad, as these were a timeless design before the pockets were added.

I have had these shirts before and this one shrunk up and is now too short! Don't like the look of it at all. Will be going back!

This was the replacement for my older corduroy shirt. Had to return it for a larger size than my usual. This shirt has fabric that doesn't even resemble corduroy on outside. It looks more like a chenille bedspread. The inside feels rough and uneven, more like hardware cloth on the chicken house. It's also heavy. Glad it's lined around the neck for softness. Doesn't look like wide wale corduroy, but some hybrid fabric. The inside sleeve seam at the shoulder is rough to touch. The stitching on inside pockets on the side seam are hurting the back of my hand when I put my hands in. The same inside pocket is blue chambray ? I will be donating this to the local clothes closet.

Love the fit, color, and relaxed look and feel. (I ordered a petite XS and the sleeve and shirt length were excellent.) The only thing I would change is the color of the pocket lining which is potentially visible if the shirt is worn unbuttoned. Rather than make the lining a contrasting color (my rose-colored shirt has a light denim pocket lining), please consider making the garment the same color throughout. Otherwise, a nearly perfect shirt and a new favorite in my wardrobe!

The quality is not great. The color and fabric used for the pockets does not match the shirt at all. Returned it.

Loved the weight of the shirt but should have read the reviews. The pockets are a hideous blue that show when you wear the shirt.

Not the quality or fit I expected. The corduroy is thinner than my old comfort corduroy big shirts, and the choice of dark blue fabric for the pockets was ill-advised; the pockets show through the white corduroy. Fit is odd--sleeves are too long and hips are snug. I was looking forward to the return of the Big Shirts (I'd still give those a "5") but am disappointed. I doubt that this will hold up as well as my old ones. Sorry, LL Bean. I love the idea and the memory better than the reality.
