I read reviews about this shirt and the cheaper pocket liners and how they lay. I couldn't agree more that the pockets are really poorly designed, puckering and sort of ruin the look. Regardless, I still like the fabric, gorgeous berry color and it fits perfectly.

The workmanship on this article is very high quality L.L.Bean,, however, the new styling is unnecessary and creates an unflattering and bulky silhouette. I have two similar shirts that I have bought in the past, actually many years ago, and they're still in great shape. I am disappointed but I wanted this color and I may make some alterations to see if I can make it fit better.

This jacket is beautiful. Except for one thing: inside, the pockets are lined in a cheap-looking LIGHT BLUE denim that hangs like a rag. Really!! LLBean I have loved your products for years, for the style and attention to detail. This one is horrible. I'm keeping it because I know how to sew and will cut off these horrible rags off my beautiful shirt and make myself some decent pockets in a dark red or black fabric that will look much better.

This is a high quality, really nicely made item. It is just ugly and boxy - can't imagine who this would look good on.

I love the color (slate blue) but after only a couple of washes, the hem of one of the cuffs started to come unstitched. The pockets are nice to have, but the shirt would have been much better if it were lined.

There are pockets in this jacket. You will need to size up if you have hips like mine. I did not realize that there were pockets - I must have missed that in the description. They used to have a chest pocket and they hung very nicely. Wish I could have gotten that style.

This is my third Big Shirt. The added pockets and neck path in cheap light blue fabric have taken a great garment and made it look cheap and junky. Not even the same color as the shirt. When I take it off in front of others I am embarrassed by the inner junk looking tacky . And you ruined the chamois shirt in the same way!!! I bought two for Christmas presents and there was that lousy light blue chambray. Whoever is designing for LL Bean should go. And the bad colors and styles for the past ten years are dismal. What has happened to my wonderful Beans?

I love everything I have ever bought from LL Bean over countless years. But this shirt is okay but not great. It is just really stiff.

I have several other LL BEAN corduroy shirts that i LOVE but needed a larger size and I liked the side pocket idea. This shirt is NOT soft and actually feels rough on the inside even after multiple washings- due to some sort of small raised dots on all the fabric, it even almost itches. The color is great and it is warm but is too tight in the shoulders and the collar area is not large enough-- the collar seems to be cut funny.

Collar needs to be same as original shirt which was better looking being wider. The color of pocket liners should match the shirt color for a classier look and 4 pockets goes overboard.Disappointed in the changes from original shirt.Fit is the same and good

If you are going to advertise this item on social media sites I would advise stocking enough so that half of the color options aren't sold outor take them off the site, OR don't specifically advertise the color that is sold out. I notice this happens frequently with this brand. Either take the advertisements down or stock more product please so that shopping with you isn't so misleading.

I have several of these I've bought over the years. They changed the design. It's a little more fitted and they added side pockets. The inside of the pockets aren't attached and the fabric hangs loose, especially if you have it unbuttoned. Really terrible design in my opinion. To me the side pockets are unnecessary and should just be eliminated altogether. I love the color so I might take it to get the pockets removed and sides seamed.

The side seam stitching is poor causing the hem to bunch up. Returned the teal top. I purchased 2 other colors recently and their hems lay nicely.

If you have an older version of this shirt, be aware that this one is different. The material is thicker; the shoulders are more narrow; & there is a pocket along the hem in the side seam on both sides adding bulk to the product. If your hips are slightly larger than normal it adds bulk in that area making your hips appear large, I would size up if you purchase one. Wish I had done so. I used my older shirt as a jacket. Because the shoulders on new one are more narrow it is uncomfortable as a jacket.

Nice jacket. Heavier than what I wanted. Not made well: On one side, the jacket front at the pocket was larger than the pocket lining, so the jacket front puckered. I used to work for a shop that manufactured clothing, and that would have never passed our quality control. I sent it back.

These new corduroy sorts aren't made to the high standards of the shirts they were making until about 3 years ago. They now have lower pockets at the bottom that do nothing but make you look larger in the hips.

I've been wearing Bean's corduroy Big Shirts for years and have been very happy with them -- they are just the right size for me (petite small), including the sleeve length, and roomy enough to wear a light sweater underneath in cold weather. The new version, however, is not up to snuff. The sleeve length and body length are fine but it is too narrow around the middle to button comfortably. Also, the lower set of pockets adds too much material -- they feel like padding. Please, give us the old style again!

I treated myself to a new corduroy big shirt after finally tossing the one I've had for years. Loved the color, put it on - and discovered that the "improved" design now includes pockets at EXACTLY the place I need no extra padding - my hips. Why, Bean? Why do you redesign what's worked? Who actually needs pockets in their shirt? It's not a jacket. Don't even get me started on the princess seam you introduced in your (formerly perfect) barn coat, making it fitted and thus less useful for actual work. By all means bring aboard new products, but maybe give more consideration to redesigning classics that nobody's complained about.

I have previously purchased six corduroy shirts from ll bean they were top quality and nice looking. For some crazy reason they changed the style and added an ugly band at the bottom that serves no purpose but to look stupid.I don't understand why they would mess up a perfectly good design. The side pockets are a good idea but I'm glad I bought the good shirts as I won't be ordering any of these new ones

I purchased this in two beautiful colors. Although it appears very well made, I found the cut to be too boxy on my short waisted frame. I have returned both.

I love the shirt but I should have returned for another. The material of the hem was kind of twisted in the front. Disappointing but I didn't want to have to deal with shipping it back.

This shirt is a smaller in 2x size than two other same style 2x corduroy shirts I ordered from LLBean in the last 6 -12 months. I have to wear it unbuttoned or it is too snug.
