It is beyond me why LL Bean would take a good product and remake it into something inferior. I have several of the original design. The side pockets on this would have been OK, if they had been well done. They should have been a nuetral color and much smaller to fit well in this garmet. All of the extra bulk the pockets create just add bulk to your hip area. I am also disappointed to see a company that creates an All-American image, has manufacturing done in Shri Lanka. The new version is just poor craftsmanship and oversight by LL Bean's quality control. I will keep it because I like the saddle color, but would not buy another one with this design.

I returned this shirt because the blue pockets showed through the white corduroy; next time I'll try to remember to read reviews before ordering

This used to be called the" Big Shirt" b but they put in side pockets & two front pockets(instead of one), and a different color lining to the side pocket which takes up space inside the shirt. Then they made it shorter and called " Comfort". Now I am 5'6" & 250# & cannot wear this shirt at all comfortably! Now I would need a 3X to be at all comfortable. I own 4 "Big Shirts" that I bought several years ago in green, ivory, hot pink, and aqua. They are size 2X corduroy & have been worn & washed many, many times, yet they still fit wonderfully well, have not faded or shrunk, and they are my favorite shirts by far. What can I do to get you to bring back the original " Big Shirt?

Really bright, not a nice pastel, peach! Also why are inside of pockets blue. If jacket is work open, the blue is a really awful color showing. Poor color optionfor the price of a corduroy shirt, why aren't the pocket linings matching the jacket? It looks cheap.

Great color blue and nice fabric. Too short and boxy for me.

The bright blue appears to be a bit mottled and not all the same blue. Areas of slightly lighter blue throughout. Is this the way it is supposed to look?

The shirt fit and color are lovely. Unfortunately the inner pocket fabric was the color blue and are an odd contrast with peach outer color. I will only wear buttoned up, so pockets don't show.

Very nice and of good quality, as most of the LL Bean clothing is, but I returned it because it was more casual looking once I received it and tried it on. I still wear a similar one I purchased a few years ago because it is a little more dressy and suits most of my needs better. I was hoping to replace it with this version, but decided it wasn't quite what I was looking for.

I love my gray Corduroy Shirt-Jac so much, I ordered the cream colored one. The gray one has wonderful fleece pockets in a matching color. It was exactly what I wanted!! I was so disappointed when I received the cream one. It has large blue pockets. Why? It totally looks like a mistake and I am still deciding if I will keep it. Total design error. You can see the blue pocket.

I had hoped for a replacement for my comfort corduroy big shirts, which I love but are wearing out. This is more a shirt-jac. Because of the lower pockets, it doesn't hang well unbuttoned and buttoned it exaggerates sloppy tailoring at the placket (ie the two sides don't hang at the same level).. The body is narrower than I like, so are the sleeves. I like it well enough to wear it and not send it back, but I am disappointed in the changes.

If I were to rate the shirt itself I would give it 5 stars. Comfy, warm, soft. But then, there are the POCKETS-they would not rate ANY stars. They look like they are an afterthought and very poorly done, material that looks like it won't hold up-thin and the stitching at the top of the inside pocket (approx. 10" x 8") has a very unfinished look-not at all LLBean quality. Pleased and disappointed at the same time.

Nice jacket but uncomfortably warm, reminds me of rayon when I put it on. I'm keeping it, because I like the idea of a white shirt jacket, and it looks okay.

I kept this even though the sleeves are too short and I feel frumpy in it. I love the soft corduroy.

The pockets on the inside of this shirt are pointless. They seem like an after thought and are made cheaply with cheap material. They do not work to hold anything and the shirt does not lay flat because the pockets get bunched up. Really poor design and cheaply made, not up to llbean standards.

It's not as soft and cozy as the one I bought a couple of years and I really don't like the big pockets on the side. Bulky and not very useful. The color is nice.

The shirt has nice aspects: nice corduroy, nice color, fits true. The only thing I don't like is the very strange side pockets. LL Bean really cheaped out on the quality control for the side, hip pockets. Although a nice idea, the construction is subpar. The lining of the pockets is a cheap, thin denim. The darker blue color does shoe through the front of the shirt, taking away from the style. The pocket lining on the inside is thin and floppy. If you wear the shirt open, like a jacket, the lining flaps open and the blue denim shows. The top of pocket lining is not even tacked down properly. I have to decide if I want to return the shirt, or cut out the pocket lining, which will leave useless slits at the side. Very disappointed as I like everything else; better to just leave out those side pockets---usless.

I have many of the earlier version of this shirt and love them. This one was slightly smaller and the sewing was sloppy. The pockets are a joke. Way too large and there is no way you can wear this shirt open. The denim pockets are an eyesore. The stitching on the pockets - in white thread - was a mess. Will never consider this shirt again.

This is not the same soft corduroy shirt I bought before. This is styled as a jacket, with side pockets--and the pockets really make it look and feel bulky. I may not keep it.

It's a cute shirt but I found it to be too boxy for me. I am 5'10" and weigh about 130 lbs. I ordered the small tall.

Purchased 2 of these shirts to wear as light jackets. Regular length is perfect for that purpose. The bright blue and berry colors are beautiful. I ordered these shirts particularly for the side pockets, however, the inside pocket lining of both shirts is not sewn down securely and is unsightly with the shirts unbuttoned. And the blue lining in the berry shirt is an eyesore; very disappointing. Who approved that??

This shirt has very odd colored blue cotton fabric inside pockets that take away from the quality of the shirt.. I bought a white one with the same blue pockets.

I have one of the original corduroy shirts and it is is a bit longer and roomier than my new one. However, the new one does have pockets inside.
