I wanted this in black to layer over other shirts, but the pocket, which is large and on the inside, is a light chambray color, so unattractive to wear it open like a jacket.

Don't like the changes you made to this shirt. 2 large inside pockets make it too bulky. Small ones would have been fine. Way too large!!

This is a well-made garment but the wide hem and side pockets make it feel more like a jacket than a shirt. The added weight of the pockets and styling aren't as comfortable or flattering as the original shirt. I would love to see the plain corduroy wide wale shirt come back - it had nice clean lines and was so comfy!

I was disappointed that the shirt had inside pockets of a different cheaper fabric and color. Not good!

Beautiful color (teal) and soft feel, but be aware that it's more of a jacket than a shirt: it has a band around the bottom. I wear a large but ordered an XL wanting room to wear something underneath. I knew when I tried it on that it was too big but I kept it, thinking it would shrink a little. It did not. So I'd recommend buying your regular size.

I have bought lovely corduroy shirts from L.L. Bean before and I love their fit. This one is much different. It runs a little small so I don't have as much room as the previous shirts. I don't need an internal long pocket. Conversely, I do appreciate the outer deep pockets in this shirt as opposed to no pockets in the original shirts. It seems this shirt is also a bit shorter. The front hem area also does not iron easily because it has a long pucker which is difficult to iron out.

Akwars pocket seams pulled tight that the pucker up right at the hip of the small the telephone operator suggested makescit look boxy, I bought another medium in another color better fit but still that thick pulled a little tight pocket seem that makes it flare, not like the design of of your corduroy shirt of the past, that i loved, also the pink of old was much prettier than the washed orchid

Great fabric and color, but returned because of uneven and lumpy hemline. Heavy fabric, low pocket and deep hem did not work well together.

Love the color. Love the fabric. HATE the side pockets. Really LLBean, you couldn't just do patch pockets like the breast pockets? The pockets stretch from the side-seam to the front placket and are just a little wider than the shirt itself. This causes bulk, affects the drape and makes the hip area bulky while the chest and shoulders are normal. Ironing does help (see photos) but causes its own problems. I don't intend to return because I will tack the pockets in place so they hang better. Or, failing that, will remove them altogether. I would not recommend to a friend unless they had the sewing skills and the time to make such a fix.

I have several of your corduroy shirts and have given several as gifts, but this new style is not up to par. The side pockets are very poorly made; the cheesy blue fabric that make up the inside of the pocket is just a cheap blue cotton fabric and doesn't match the shirt color. Please bring back the old style with no side pockets. In all the years I've been buying L.L. Bean merchandise, this is the first time I have been unhappy with a product. I definitely will not buy it again.

The 2 good things about this shirt: 1. The colors ( larkspur was my pick) 2. The wide wale corduroy is nice. This is the first time I've bought the shirt with pockets. The pockets make the shirt's drape awkward. It "pooks out" in the middle and makes the hem curl up. Bad design. I like the color but I won't buy any more of these with pockets. Summary: Let me know when your design and marketing teams decide to lose the pockets. Hopefully, next year.

This shirt just isn't for me. I prefer the "old" style without pockets. The new style is bottom heavy because of the pockets and a wide hem. Quality is great. For me, the updated style is somewhere between an awkward jacket and the previous easygoing shirt.

Love this as an over shirt, but size runs very small and different shape. I bought this for a friend who loves several of the older corduroy shirts size XL fit perfectly. Not with this new one. XL didn't fit, 1X was too small, currently waiting for size 2X to arrive. She liked the pockets, but really prefers the older style.

WARNING TO OTHERS; do NOT hit RETURN after entering a PHOTO, you will have to start over! I have several of these in different colors, in the version without side pockets, and I live in them all winter. This is LLBean's second effort at adding side pockets, and it too is disappointing. I will not buy another. A suggestion would be to replace the horizontal inside cut with a diagonal cut that reaches up two buttons further - that might hold it in place better. Adding: when I preview, it shows more 3.5 stars; I gave it 3.

the size medium petite sleeves of the 2023 version of the corduroy shirt are longer then last years. I have ordered the shirt twice this year and returned both. Another negative: the sleeves are very wide. On the plus side the fabric is thick and sturdy as evidenced by my last years well worn and washed shirt. Great colors also.

Love the cut and style and I ordered two shirts, One in black and one in green. Returned the green shirt because the color wasn't flattering and a bit lighter than what the website showed.

I had several of these shirts a decade ago. These used to be a nice medium weight over shirt. The corduroy seems less substantial and the side pockets make the shirt blouse out at the bottom and is not flattering at all. The green color is nice. The size seems right.

The color is lovely and the fabric is very soft. I found it too bulky for me and returned it.

I like these shirts and will probably buy another, but liked the old style better. The second chest pocket, side seam pockets, and the thicker hem make it more bulky than the old style and less comfortable to wear. I don't need 4 pockets as I wear these shirts in the house in place of a sweater. The shirt seems a tad more fitted in the sleeves, but not by much. That being said I still recommend this shirt, but definitely like the older style better. The other option in a corduroy shirt from LLBean is too long. Please bring back the older style.

I did not like this corduroy shirt compared to all the previous ones I have purchased. It is not as well made overall, but especially the bottom hem not lying flat in back. I don't like the new side pockets, especially the dark lining color on a lighter coral shirt.

I ended up keeping two of these shirts in different colors, but I think the design is a bit too long. They would be way more "hip" if they were about 2 inches shorter in the body length. Just my opinion.

This shirt over all is just what I wanted, soft and a great layer for around the house or when there is a slight chill. However, the cuffs are too tight and uncomfortable! I like to leave them buttoned but have to 'push' my hands through and cannot turn them up as I like to do when around the house. The buttonholes are small, making it difficult to keep buttoning and unbuttoning them. Thought I could move the buttons over a bit but no room to do so. Sadly, I don't wear it very often.
