This is a great addition to my outdoor clothing. It is extremely warm, too warm for indoor use and fits true to size.

Overall, this sweater had the features that I wanted: wool, well made, tightly woven, not bulky, high neck, beautiful brown color. Nevertheless, I returned it because the number one feature for which I purchased the sweater, the high neck, was very uncomfortable when zipped closed. This was because the material used to line the neck is doubled where it joins the zipper and the wool, and makes two sharp corners at the top that become one very stiff, sharp point right under the Adam's apple when the sweater is zipped. The sweater is great unzipped.

I've only tried this on since I got it but haven't worn much yet..it's been unseasonably warm in Chicago. Quality looks very good. Most of the reviews are dead on, it's a bit scratchy so expect to wear something under this. The soft inner collar is a nice touch and it blends in nicely.

This well-designed sweater combines function and style in a lightweight package. Perfect for layering, both under an outer garment or as the principal covering over a shirt, it provides comfortable warmth in the lower 30's and teens. My choice of color was the darker brown. Because of the tightness of knit, it drapes well, responds to hand-wash and dry cleaning with no trace of sag or pill. I'm back for the lighter color as well.

5 stars on construction, fit, an looks. I took a couple stars off due the the fact that the sweater smells a little weird (it's 100% wool), and you can't dry it in the dryer. You have too let it air dry, which takes a day and a half.

I bought this sweater in Jan. And have worn it a couple times and know it will be a staple in my winter closet. I'll be able to use it as an outter layer until the dead of winter rolls in. And it will be a great layering sweater for the really cold times. Size is true and the quailty is fantastic. You'll be pround to wear this sweater hunting or socializing. Hope to buy the blue one to if they come back in stock. The swarer is a bit stick buut I think that will softnen in time.

I just bought this sweater for my husband who walks 30 minutes to work. Although it appears heavy and impenetrable to wind, he says he can feel wind getting through, especially on the chest where the weave is different. He has other sweaters that block the wind better. However, its great looking and warm enough for an average winter walk in New England.

I have been looking for a sweater like this since living in Europe, where people don't always wear jackets or polartec. It is warm, it is good looking, it fits nicely. Can be worn with a T shirt or over something nicer, and fits under a wool coat when really cold. Does what LL Bean said it does.

I ordered the sweater in the color Lodin. I Received it yesterday, only worn once. Warm, not itchy, looks good. The only fault I can find is the color. In bright light the sweater looks green but at night it looks brown, otherwise a great sweater, it runs a little larger than the XL I ordered. I'm 6' 210 lbs

Great sweater, but I am considered an XL by measurements(athletic build). It is a little baggy and long in the torso. I would probably get more of a L. However, still on the fence about returning it, since I do like it! Wore in back in my hometown where temps were -5 at night and okay, but not for too long. When I was out walking in temps of the 30's w/o wind felt manageable.

I recently purchased this sweater as a gift. I feel the weight, color and style and appearance are great, awaiting the receivers reaction to it!

I recently got this for my husband and we both love it. He is always cold and wears more layers than anyone else around. Recently, we went to an outdoor concert and he wore the sweater. Our friend saw him sitting there in only the sweater with no jacket. She asked him what was wrong with him because he is always cold. The sweater was keeping my husband warm - no jacket required! It is handsome, rugged and warm. Here is the only caution - the sweater arrived with 2 defective stitches on the back that we feared would unravel overtime. So, we sent it back and are waiting for a new one. Hopefully, it will be perfect and wear well for many years to come.

Very good quality sweater, good fit, it will be warm; love the yarn-it has a good hand. The only down is the zipper at the neck is a little "poky", it doesn't lay down at the neck and jabs a bit. But the rest of the attributes override the slight neckline issue

Great buy and great styling. Love the suede-like contrasting near the neck area. Very European in styling yet classic.

I would have given it a five but the color was not an exact match to the catalog. However, my son liked it very much. It is warm and well made.

This is a very nice warm sweater. It seems to be appropriately rugged and looks very good.
I have not shouldered a shotgun in many years, but I work at a lab that is surrounded by park lands that are frequented by geese, and since I started wearing this sweater, I firmly believe they have shown me increased respect.

I really like the Waterfowl sweater; however, I wanted the old design from a couple of years ago, but it was back-ordered at the time, and I didn't pursue it. The sweater is warm, fits well, and I like the color, but it's a little scratchy if not worn with a long-sleeve shirt underneath. Maybe that will change with washing and wearing.

I recently gave my husband this sweater for his birthday. He loves it. It's warm and hefty, but the loden color is much darker than the picture. On screen it appears to be a mix of green and tan, but it is actually green and brown.

Given the price and L.L. Bean's typically good value for the dollar, I had high expectations for this sweater. I have not been disappointed. The wool is thick, the fit is athletic and the workmanship is excellent.

Great quality, fits large / wide. Unfortunate because it looks good, just too wide

I have had waterfowl sweaters for 10 years and had to give them away as they shrunk, so I purchased a new one. This latest sweater that I purchased is no where as warm as my previous sweaters, Would I recommend this sweater? NO.

beautiful sweat. er. Heavy yet roomy and comfortable. Bad thing. I noticed after taking it out the bag it smelled awful after hanging it up. I washed it at the laundry and still have a lingering odor. Smelled sour. It's now at the dry cleaners and hopefully they can get the odor out of it. Other than that, perfect and sharp

The fit is great and very warm. However the sweater smells like it was bathed in perfume three attempt at cleaning and the sweater still has a perfume smell.
