It fits great, is incredibly warm, and looks awesome. Only downside is that the wool is itchy on bare skin.

Beautiful looking sweater that functions the way an outdoor wool sweater should. Exceptionally comfortable. This is my second waterfowl sweater and I use it all the time, including hunting ducks and geese as well as kayaking.

Nice sweater, except LL Bean had to make it too baggy.

Handsome. Fabric is heavy. But remarkably warm. Wore it for a boat ride on a Georgia lake this past weekend and was quite comfortable.

This product is NOT made in China, like other reviewers have posted.

Great sweater. The large was too big for me. I'm 6' 0" and 195 lbs.

Nice and warm. Size fits as expected based on order so that is pleasing. Sharp looking so much so that it will be reserved for nice events instead of just around the house.

I really like this sweater a lot. I did buy size that ended up being a little large so it hangs a little loose, but it is very comfortable that way. It's very warm and fun to wear. It does tend to pill easily, but not too badly. I'd definitely order it again.

Excellent sweater but had a reaction to it. I washed it and will give it away. I would like to see LLBean get no items from China, the source of this one.

Did not like the way the collar fit

This is really great sweater! Thick enough to keep warm on cold days. The first day I wore it it was 18 out with a high of 23 with intermittent snow. I was perfectly comfy but was still comfortable in doors at work and left it on most of the day even! Looks great and well made, will last for years! My only complaint is that it seemed to run a little large. I have wide shoulders and usually need XXL Tall to accommodate them but this one is borderline too big. If I order another I'll try a XL Tall since it has plenty of stretch.

I have worn the sweater about 4 times over a tee shirt. It is very warm and great looking. I have not washed it yet and I am a bit concerned as it seems to be starting to pill on the elbows already. In light of that, I would definitely steer away from washing in the wash machine!

Normally, I take a medium. This was way too large. I had to return for a size small. I like the sweater but by the time LL Bean processed the return I ended up having to pay for both sweaters. Now I have a large credit on my credit card.

Size down! My husband is a big man who wears XL or even XXL sometime. He was swimming in the XL. Returned it for the large and it was the correct size.

Nice warm and soft sweater. Looks good enough to wear over business casual at work but rugged enough for the outdoors. Says made in China. I saw recently that LL Bean was included in a list of 83 companies that use or benefit from forced/slave whyger labor in China. I hope it.is not true and this sweater isn't from there. Really.like Bean to declare the point of manufacture in the item description.

The recent purchase is my husband's second sweater, which wore out at the neck after several years of wear. But it's such a good sweater I got him another one as a gift. The brown lining inside the collar is the weak link in the design. If it were real suede it would probably hold up better than the soft material. (See photo)

I bought two, the blue and green. Both are comfortable and exceptionally well made, stitching, weave, collar, zipper, etc. Perfectly functional as a midlayer under a raincoat in the PNW... I have been totally comfortable outside during the winter months so far. Only con was the green version had a ridiculously bad odor that smelled like stale motor oil mixed with rotten fish carcass. The first time I wore it was on a road trip, and my companion made me take it off as it stunk up the car; we had to seal it in a Hefty bag for the remainder of the trip as the odor made us nauseous. After a washing and letting it air out for a few weeks, the smell isn't quite as putrid/pungent. Works fine if you're really serious about social distancing.

The arms and upper part feel like a medium size. I may take it to a tailor because I really like the insulation and color. The length is perfect.

This is a very nice wool sweater. Heavy knit yarn is thick and fairly rugged. The collar is a little tight right in front and loose in the back when zipped all the way up. Overall the size is correct in all lengths, but oversized in the diameter of the torso and arms. This results in a baggy fit. All that being said, I wear this rather than a jacket now when we go on long hikes. It is breathable enough to vent heat when hiking uphill and warm enough the rest of the time.

While I love the warmth of this sweater, But that is where it ends. The crinkly sounds of the "Gortex" liner, makes a sound like its lined with plastic. But, that does keep the wind out, and the wool keeps me warm outside even in temps below freezing. Inside it can become too warm, but also by the second time I wore it, I noticed pills starting to form. So that is disappointing to say the least, considering what it cost. But that , I suppose is typical of wool products. Over all It's okay, but not as good as other famous brands that prioritize in woolen clothes.

I love the look and fit but the second I put it on I realized the only way I could wear it was with a long sleeve shirt underneath. I know they make a version that has a liner so I will probably try that one, but it's much more expensive.

My son received this sweater for Christmas. It is a great fit and super warm. He did say the material is a little itchy, however, he will wear an Oxford or T-shirt under it and it will be fine. It is a classic sweater and very versatile.

My husband did not think he would like it ,but he loved it and wants the next step up lol thank you
