I ordered the same item last year as a gift and was well received. Person I gave it to wanted another one, so I ordered this hear in a different color. Sweater has maintained its shape and was even washed . We have had a very good result.

Good and durable sweater that I wear everyday mostly at work. After three years the sweater body shows little wear. It keeps me warm and dry. The only gripe is the collar lining. It started showing wear soon after I started wearing the sweater. Eventually wearing holes.

Good product. The Dark Logan is much lighter than appears on the website. Returned for another color.

Color advisory: The "dark cinder" is neither. More like medium cocoa -- quite different from the dark, yes "cindery" color my eMac shows. Wanted warm, seems like it would be. Heavy, dense knit, snug zip-up collar. Good fit in upper half. Lower half a bit baggy on me (I'm fairly average size). If you want warm, possibly have a bit of extra girth, and don't want dark as much as I did, you'll probably love it. I sent mine back.

I am 5ft 10 and about 290 lbs. Im wide in the shoulders and heavy in the arms and chest with a bit of a gut. This sweater in 2xl regular fit very well for a casual wearing fit. I really wish it was just 2 inches longer in the torso for true active wear. I wear this sweater hunting primarily waterfowl over a cabellas baselayer and under waders or bibs and it works very well but as i mentioned its just a hair short in the torso. The arms fit great with plenty of range of motion for swinging a gun. I would have ordered the tall version but then the arms would certainly be too long. I would give this product 5 stars if it were just a touch longer in the torso but as it is i give it 4 with a confident recommendation for a traditional solution to the cold of hunting season.

This would have gotten a 5 star review except for the fact that the XL I ordered was a tad small. I had to return it for an XXL I never order anything in an XXL. I called customer service and got quick exemplary results. This is a heavy duty sweater and well made. Again, if it weren't for the size problem, it would get a 5. Thanks, Bean

Nice warm comfortable sweater. The only issue is that it does pill a little bit.

I rated this a 4 out of 5 only because I have not worn it yet. I purchased this for out door activities we have in the Fall. I know I will like this and if it does not live up to expectations I know LL Bean will take it back and give me full credit. You can not beat their customer service.

I am very pleased with this sweater. It is sized comfortably to wear over other long sleeve shirts but is not itchy when wearing short sleeves. The weight is excellent for cool evenings without being too warm. I haven't had the chance to try out in cold temperatures yet. I didn't give an excellent because there were a couple of loose threads that had to be carefully removed. For the price this is worth every cent.

I'm 6' 4" 205 lbs..and just purchased the Waterfowl Sweater in Large-Tall. The body and sleeve length are very good. Would do for someone 6' 3"-6'5". However it is a bit wide. Maybe 2" on each side. This could not be worn under most jackets, it's too bulky. I guess it'll be the outer layer #with a windshell#. Heavy, well-made. But not a luxurious wool. Should be a very warm outdoor sweater.

This is a beautiful sweater, and I have one in brown. The "loden" is indistinguishable from brown. I was expecting a greenish shade.

This is my new favorite sweater, good luck getting me to take it off this year as our Michigan winter is beginning. It is heavy enough for me to leave my coat at home while going in and out of the car or outside to rake some leaves. I wore it under my warm coat to duck hunt on a really cold windy day and this is the first time I did not get cold. The zipper works and never hangs up. The build quality is such that this should last me a lifetime. I will be buying more so people don't think I wear the same thing every day this winter. I ordered the "Loden" color and its basically a dark army green color. Will go with pretty much any color of pants. Anyway my only "complaint" which is very minor is that I think the collar comes up just a touch to high if you have a beard. So the collar is basically rubbing on the ends of my beard all the time, took a minute to get used to. I am sure that if I didn't have a beard it wouldn't bother me at all. They use some very soft material on the inside of the collar and it overhangs enough that the metal from the zipper never touches my face or beard. Overall I would recommend this to anyone, especially if you spend some time outdoors hunting and fishing. I will be buying more of these sweaters over time. It is definitely worth the money you spend on this sweater. Lets just say I liked it enough to write a good review about it, which I rarely do unless I am very pleased with the product.

I bought this sweater for my son for Christmas. I like the way it looks, and think it will be warmbut was very disappointed it is made in China.

I can't quite give this 5 stars yet since I just ordered it and the temperature outside doesn't warrant wearing it. I'm 6'1", 270lbs. I ordered the XL Regular and it fits good. A little baggy(maybe an extra inch around the chest, mid and waist & a little extra room in the upper arms, which I wasn't expecting; nor a fan of), but I expect that in a sweater so I can dress in a couple layers. The wool is a little itchy (at first -- as they all are) and I was hoping that it was a little softer to start; but I've felt worse. Service is definitely 5 stars. Prior to placing this order (first time buyer at this vendor), I wanted to clarify a question regarding the duty and taxes. When I called, the phone didn't even ring...I was INSTANTLY connected to a rep who was very polite, knowledgable and attentive, answering all of my concerns with appropriate responses. I ordered with the 'free shipping' option and was pleasantly impressed with the speed of delivery. The order was placed on 28 May (around 1130pm) and I just received it today (31 May). I expected 5-7 business days and to receive the item within 2 it outstanding. I will definitely order from this vendor again and once the fall / winter arrives, I'll update my review to include the warmth and feel of the sweater. Great Job!

Yes. I bought this as a gift for my husband. It is a heavy, quality sweater with a stand up collar. Very comfortable to wear. He likes it very much. Nice color too.

This sweater looks great, is the perfect size, and very warm. Its not the softest wool you can buy, but for working around the house on drizzly days or going on trips, this is the one I wear the most.

I got this sweater a month ago. And as always the "LL Bean" quality is there. It has not been warm enough to wear though, so I am looking forward to colder weather!

Like nearly everything I have purchased from the Bean, this sweater is well made and met my expectations. Thick. Warm. Comfortable. Exactly what I needed. It got me through the tail end of this Afghanistan winter and I am looking forward to breaking it out next year. It does, however, fit a little on the large side. I'm usually a medium type of guy and the majority of the clothing I purchase from LL is just that. But this is at the upper limits of what I would consider wearable. On the bright side, it definitely allows for layering and if the dry-cleaner shrinks it up a bit when I get home, it'll fit perfectly. My only complaint is in the arms. The sleeves from shoulder to wrist are too tapered for my taste. By that I mean, the sleeves fit in a nice way and then it blossoms out to a very full upper arm and shoulder. Some people may prefer this especially gym rats with bulging muscles But this average Joe finds it a touch annoying. Regardless I would purchase this sweater again and will use it until it has holes in it (hopefully from wear and tear and not bullets).

I always order LLBean XL and it fits great. This fits large around the midsection. I would order smaller next time. Very warm.

Good color (Navy). Way too big around the middle. Waist band is too loose. Would like to see trimmer fitting clothes from LLBean. Did not improve after washing/air drying. Great fabric. Merino wool does not itch. Heavy weight knit is perfect for winter.

I got this sweater for my husband as a gift and overall it is a great sweater, hence the 4 stars. I was, however, expecting actual padding on the shoulders as listed in the bullet point description. In actuality it is only a different gauge of knit on both the shoulders and elbow/forearms. Also, in the photo of the man with the light sweater it looks as if his cuffs have the suede lining like the collar. This too is not true, he is actually wearing a shirt underneath that is rolled over the sweater. Again, I like the overall quality of this sweater, and it fits my husband well and looks great, it just was a little different than I expected.

This is a beautiful and high quality sweater. However, it is heavier than I thought and would likely be too heavy for inside use but perfect for a cool environment. May also be great for XC skiing or the like. I bought it for my husband for Xmas and we ended up returning it, simply because he was in need of a thinner sweater. This was also slightly itchy so would need a shirt underneath it.
