Great pair of boots, bought them for work. I work as an assistant superintendent on a golf course so they go throughout the day being wet and dry. So far so good. I would definitely follow the size directions as they run big. Other than that I'm very happy

This is a high quality shoe and not comparable with knock off brands that sell for half the price. I have owned both and know the difference. My shoe size is 13 narrow and I ordered the Gumshoe medium D in size 13 Medium D because it was the closest fit available. I did not order the shoe a full size smaller as suggested by LL Bean (recommended for wear with street socks) because I wanted to make sure I received a size with a size 13 length. I wear my gumshoes with althletic socks.because i don't own any wool socks. The Gumshoe length is a perfect fit for me. I find the width just a tad to wide but then I have a narrow foot. My only suggestion is to increase the length of the high quality boot laces. The shoe laces that came with the shoes are too short for the double bow tie which I prefer. Carl

I wear these around the house and go for hikes in them. Also, great for wet days working around in the yard. Fit true to size, make sure you order one size smaller than your normal shoe size! I wear a medium to thin thickness in hiking socks (Darn Tough) and they fit great.

Recently bought a pair of these shoes as we were headed up to snow country and really like them. They are comfortable and fit well (I followed the fitting recommendations on the web site and have not been disappointed)! I have worn them for a while now and have not had any issues and they continue to be my go to shoes in inclement weather. Love the fact that they are still made in Maine! Would definitely purchase them again!!! Highly recommended.

I am 90 years old and I have been wearing LL Bean gumshoes for years. I find them comfortable and perfect for the job. When the tread finally wears out I get another pair. Thank you for a quality product.

Bought these for wearing out in snow and ice and I have been pleased. I wear an 8.5 shoe so ordered an 8 as recommended. They fit well with winter-weight socks. A little stiff at first but break in nicely. Another nice feature is they're not that heavy for a waterproof shoe.

Very functional, is very light and comfortable.

There are imitations on the market of this Bean boot, but none comes close to the quality of the original. Don't try to save a few dollars; this shoe is worth the little extra you might pay.

Seems well built. Sole has good traction. The are a little hard to slip on due to the short tongue and lack of a heel strap, but those features would detract from their looks.

This order for new Gumshoes replaces a pair of gumshoes that is over twenty hears old and I have worn them down so that there is no tread at all on the soles. Having no tread left makes them unsafe to wear in the ice and snow, which is why I ordered the new gumshoes.

Great shoes

Perfect fit! My shoe size is 9 1/2 narrow. The Bean guidelines say if you're a half size order the smaller size. The fit is perfect, with room to wiggle my toes.

We've been getting sporadic wet/dry/snow here in NYC, so I never knew what to wear on my commute. Then I got a pair of these low LL Bean shoes and I'm set to go, snow, rain, or just cold, these shoes fit the bill.

Had an old LL Bean Gumshoe, think since 1992.......tread wore down the past few years but still have em! Needed the NEW and like very much.

I initially purchased a size 8 (which is my shoe size). I returned it for a size 7. So yes... one full size smaller did the trick. I wanted a boot that was snug so no movement... which can be a problem if moving on uneven terrain. I also wanted to be able to walk through snow (but not have to wear a full-sized boot). Very happy with my size 7 fit, and snow trials completed successfully.

May be my 4th or 5th pair over the past 50 years or so. The laces come up a little short when trying to double knot them. I would suggest making the laces by an inch or so. longer.

Love these. Wish I had bought them years ago. Perfect for walking the dog in rain or snow. I wear them to work on bad weather days and change at the office.

I had a pair of these gum shoes for about the last 25 to 30 years that had no tread left on them. I used those boots through all those Winters and on rainy days the rest of the year. I went to your store in Albany, NY and couldn't find new ones until I talked to a salesman and he was able to find them on your website. I was really happy to find that you still made this style. Thank you for a great product!!

My purchase was 45 years ago. They are seasonal shoes for me, and I wear them mostly camping in spring and fall and in the winter during very wet snows. While not insulated, I did get the insulated soles, and I find being dry equates to warmth. One of these days I will get the soles redone.

Have worn this style for 30+ years. Earlier style was designed like an athletic/running shoe. This shoe, while classic, is less comfortable than earlier model (no longer available) but I am satisfied with my purchase.

I have used this gumshoe during light snow in the winter and rain the spring , summer and fall. It performs well in these conditions. Order one size lower than your normal size (I ordered a size 10, although I wear an 11 in other shoes). This shoe is recommended.
