Best thing ever. I own the tall boots and needed something to slip on and off quickly to bring my two puppies outside quickly. Just perfect. Fit is great and very comfortable.

I needed a pair of water proof boots for work. I looked around and could not find any that felt good on my feet and have the arch support I need for my back. A couple months ago, my wife found these on L.L. Bean and I sent for a pair. I usually take a 12 E, but the 12 D width fit better. Very good workmanship, very comfortable, looks great. I am 6'3", 275# and can be hard on footwear. I did not want insulated boots. Some days I work in the office and many days out in fields in all types of weather. I have been wearing the first pair ever since they came. These boots keep my feet dry, heel does not slip, has good traction. When you find great fitting footwear, best to get a second pair. That is what I did recently and I am set for a couple years.

Perfect comfortable waterproof shoes.

Should have purchase this a long time ago. Ideal for working in the garden and around the yard. I order the right size which was suggested one size down of my fit.

Got my gumshoes April 6th, manufacture date on tongue says 032213. These are some fresh shoes. Added shearling insole, and they fit and feel perfect. I followed the LL Bean fit recommendations in that I normally wear a 10, so I ordered 9's, and with the insoles they are an exact fit. These will be by go-to shoes for the Alaskan spring season.

Great outdoor boot for all the tramping around we do with our dogs in the fields. The only issue we had was that my husband is generally closer to a 9.5 size, and we ordered up to the 10 and he was swimming in these, so his wear was delayed due to making an exchange for the 9. If it is possible, perhaps they can provide this guidance in the purchasing info about the suggestions for 1/2 sizing. Otherwise, the construction of the boot/shoe is solid and we know with LLBean reputation these will last for years to come! Thanks

I wear these almost daily. I have had several pairs over the years because they are so comfortable and handy.

My original gumshoes are 25 years old, and finally "gave up the ghost." Bought this pair as a replacement, and they are made just beautifully. Well sown, quality materials, and just as comfortable as my original pair. I couldn't ask for a better pair of outdoor shoes for boating, hiking, gardening, or just plain loafing.

These shoes run a little wide, but that's a small blemish. They're very nice. I wear them every weekend and most evenings after work. Excellent for walking through the late-winter slush.

I have a "vintage" pair of the 6" version of these that has provided good service. I like the gum shoe even better as it is easier to put on and take off for those times when the snow or puddles aren't too deep. I followed the recommended sizing instruction for a good and comfortable fit.

Good purchase for rainey days.

Made in USA, durable and comfortable

This was a backordered item, but I was kept informed of progress and it actually came quicker than I was told. The boots are classic! The fit is perfect (I followed the sizing suggestions and ordered 1 1/2 sizes smaller than normal). They are comfortable and sturdy, just like I have come to expect from LLBean items.

This is the second pair of Bean Gumshoes that I've owned. I bought my first pair in the fall of 1979. I have yet to wear them out but I simply couldn't pass up the 30% off offer that was emailed to me. Please keep up the great workmanship and reasonable prices. I hope that I live long enough to own a third pair of these fine shoes.

I do yard work in my Gumshoes almost every weekend all year round. This is my third pair over at least 20 years, not to mention one or two old pairs that I inherited! These are the classics. Others are OK but they are not Gunshoes! Two suggestions. If the heal could be widened a bit, side-to-side stability would be improved. And bring back "Maine Hunting Shoe" on the back of the heal for Pete's sake!

These shoes are a great addition to any guy's wardrobe since they can go with practically anything. They are well-made, roomy for my wide feet, and are actually made in the States in Maine! I can't wait to stroll around campus in these shoes, especially on those rainy days. I definitely recommend these shoes, though I would recommend ordering a size down from your regular size if you are going to wear the shoes with light or medium weight socks.

Love these gumshoes. Remind me of the ones I had almost thirty years ago. I also have to comment on how great the customer service is at LL Bean. I had a problem with the size of this shoe--which I ordered the correct size the second time, and the customer service rep honored Christmas deal of the day discount. The customer service reps are very polite, knowledgeable, and make me want to call and order on the phone even if I could just do it online!

The original pair I wore out can't say enough good things about this pair of shoes. They are great for snow and rain and look good at work.

MY NEW LL BEAN GUMSHOES ARE TYPICAL OF ALL BEAN BOOTS. THEY'RE THE BEST EVERMADE AND WILL LAST FOREVER. SEVERAL YEARS BACK, I ORDERED A PAIR OF 6" BEAN BOOTS (IN 2005 I THINK) AND THEY ARE STILL GOING STRONG. I WORE MY GUMSHOES THE OTHER DAY MOWING AND WEEDEATING AND BY THE TIME I WAS DONE, I COULD SEE THAT THEY WILL PAY FOR THEMSELVES BY SUMMER'S END. AS OTHERS HAVE ALREADY SAID, IT IS ABSOLUTLEY VITAL THAT YOU GO BY THE SIZING INFORMATION ON THE WEBSITE. I DID FOR BOTH MY BOOTS AND GUMSHOES AND THEY FIT PERFECTLY RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX. WHILE OTHERS MAY OFFER SIMILAR BOOTS FOR A CHEAPER PRICE, BEAN BOOTS ARE WORTH THE MONEY AND WILL LAST FOREVER!

The shoe that made LLBean famous. Yea, I'm on my third pair of Gumshoes over the past 25 years. The darn things just don't ware out. My second pair of gumshoes just started to stink after 12+ years, they looked and felt great, just stunk. I hated to throw them but had to. So thank goodness LLBean still makes the Gold Standard. They also make the La-tee-Daa stuff just for the Yuppies but I will always love their gumshoes. I deer hunt, turkey hunt, walk long distances and canoe / boat with these things. They run large so be careful. I wear an 11 shoe with bunions but wear a 10D Gumshoe. Enjoy them. I do!

Being a beef cattle farmer I'm pretty hard on boots. For the last 10 years I have purchased a similar item from one of the biggest mail order outfitters. Unfortunately, each pair of their boots hasn't lasted much more than a year. So I decided to try these Bean Boots. I read all the online reviews and followed the advice about the boot sizing. When the boots arrived, not only do they look really good, they fit perfectly. So far they have proven to be extremely dry, comfortable, and durable. I'll put these boots to the test.

They fit like my old house slippers, letting me dance on the snow & ice. I did make one modification. I removed (I'm glad it was easily removed) the support insole & replaced it with carpeting (ice-fisher trick). The carpet amps up the cushioning & is a great insulator between my skinny, always cold (except in these) feet & our Wisconsin slush, snow & ice. These take the brunt of winter salted slush instead of my regular shoes.
