The LL Bean Gumshoe was everything I had expected. I followed the LL Bean fitting guide and was happy I did. I wear 10.5, but took a chance and ordered a 9. I only wear the Gumshoe with thick wool socks and the 9's fit perfect. I would highly recommend the Gumshoe to anyone who is looking for a waterproof boot, but doesn't want the high feel of the traditional LL Bean Boot. Overall, I couldn't be happier.

Finally got a size that fits after 3 trys. Shoes are going to be used for fishing. Fit is OK

I purchased the Gumshoe for our son to wear on Campus during rainy weather in Florida. I have personaly had Gumshoes for 20 years and highly recommend them. The do round big so you may need to order 1 size below your normal shoe size.

These shoes are great and I can't wait to wear them more. Given my job these will get a lot of weekend wear and night wear when it's cold/wet. If you're reading this review you know about the sizes already so I didn't adjust anything on those ratings although I think the width scale is on target with my normal shoes (length not even close).i wear a normal shoe 13-14 in my largest foot and a 12M is great even with Ragwool socks. I bought a pair of 8 inch Bean Boot too and find myself wearing the Gumshoes a little more at nights for quick dog walks but the boots are the choice when it's really cold/wind/heavy rains and more than a little bit of snow. Lastly, I live in Southern CT and debated about lined vs unlined and went with unlined. I'm glad I did. I bought some rag wool socks for when it's really cold, but so far the boots and thin athletic socks have been fine for dog walks and normal outdoor stuff so far this year. These will be go to's for rain, light snow, and the 8 inch ones for more rain/wind/light snow. My Sorel Caribou boots are there for lots of snow and winter play with the kids. Love the Gumshoe and 8 inch boots!

After ordering and returning three times, finally got what I was looking for (not the fault of LLBean). The Gumshoe is what I finally wound up with, since the others (Moc, 6 in. Boot) just didn't work (fit). Customer service is what makes this process of buying shoes online work. Without their dedication, one couldn't possibly buy with confidence that they were getting the right fit. Very pleased with the shoes. Will stay with LLBean for any future wants and needs. My first pair only lasted 40 years. Just bought my second pair but I probably won't need them for another 40.

My husband is from Italy and wasn't familiar with Bean Boots until he saw me tromping through last year's snow and slush in mine. In October, I ordered him his very first pair (did the Gumshoe version) and I haven't been able to get him to take them off. Like me, he thinks you just can't beat the Bean Boots. He has gotten so many complements and wonders where these shoes have been all his life. He wears a US 10 normally and I ordered the 9 for him. The fit is perfect with thick socks

These Muckers hand made in Maine are just perfect !!! Finally after many imported imitations LL Bean brings back a "Made in USA" quality product that fits like a glove. I admit that I followed the sales/customer service instructions and ordered a half size smaller as the leather and rubber mucker is just formed on a last that is a little bit larger than the average size to allow for a better fit. He was absolutely correct. Thank You LL Bean this is one pair that I am not returning.

I have owned Bean boots for many years. I got the gumshoes to replace a pair of mocs a large puppy used for a chew toy. Fortunately I learned to order Bean boot products in one to one and a half sizes smaller than regular shoe size. I have not worn the gunshoes very much at this time, but the fit is good and build quality what I have come to expect from LL Bean products.

Since college, the duck shoe has been a necessity for rainy days. Don't avoid the puddles with these waterproof shoes (as long as you don't step into a small pond). LL Bean's quality make these the one and only you will need.

I took no chances this year in getting a pair. I missed out last year and ordered these mid summer on back order! LL Bean can be counted on to stand behind their product, guaranteeing satisfaction. I have only worn them 1 time to check fit and comfort before the wet/snow season sets in.I chose the unlined, rather than Thinsulated, so I am able to wear them all year round.

Well I own there boots a couple of weeks now and never wore them. It's been dry here in NJ. We'll I'm a school bus driver and we just had a lot of rain and some winds from a hurricane. So the large lot where we keep the busses gets real messy with mud and late puddles of water. My sneakers would for sure be soaked if I wore them. So I told my wife time to break out my new Duck Boots :) They worked like a charm . My feet were kept dry all day long. Thanks LLBEAN . My first pair of your boots and I love them !

I bought these shoes at the flagship store in Freeport on my way back from Nova Scotia on Thursday Aug 27th, 2015. I have had them on every morning since to walk my dog and play Frisbee with her. They are far better than anything else I have tried for this purpose including waterproof hikers, which eventually stopped being waterproof. Just as you say on your web site "..warm, dry feet haven't gone out of style in 100 years.."

These Maine Hunting Shoes were well worth waiting for. They're very comfortable, and appear to be very well constructed. I like the fact that they're made in Maine. I own another pair, ankle high, and used them in winter, also great.

I have been wearing your gumshoes for decades and they are an excellent product with a long life. I have one request. Please re-examine your selection of thread used for stitching the uppers to the rubber base of the shoe. The thread always wears out and breaks before the rest of the shoe is worn out and leaves gaps between the leather and rubber where water can get in. It is a minor issue with an otherwise outstanding product.

I bought these over 35 years ago and they're still the best shoes I've ever owned. Granted I don't wear them every day but for working around the yard and wearing to work on a snowy day in the winter they are great. I even wore them back when we wore suits to work on winter days to get through the slush on the downtown streets. Not only the best shoes but also the most versatile shoe I have owned. The only thing that is wearing out are the shoe laces - do you think LL Bean will replace those?

This is my second pair of gumshoe boots. The first pair lasted over 6 years, and were indispensable during the winter weather. My only disappointment was the very long waiting time for the shoes to arrive..which took several months. As a result, I continued wearing my original pair which barely got me through the long winter ! These boots are most definitely the best pair one needs as an all-purpose boot for all-year around weather..

This is my third pair of Bean gumshoes. Wear them all the time for different purposes. Lightweight and comfortable to wear all day. Great for wet days and work outdoors.

I found my first pair of bean boots at a sidewalk sale for $2. They were the most functional shoes ever! I wore them slam out in about a year. These shoes are comfortable as well as rugged. No other shoe I've worn can handle the wear of all terrain shenanigans like bean boots.

Rainy, snowy, wet days have met their match. I wear these to work and change into "street shoes" at the office. We don't live in Boston so we don't have to deal with deep snow too often....these take care of business.

I ordered a size 7 wide for my son who wears a size 7 shoe. That is as small as they come. They fit pretty well and he is happy with them. If they wear as well as my pair the investment will be worth it. Only problem is the thick ties are hard to keep tied.

Arrived intact just as ordered. Take note of L.L. Bean's sizing advisory - I normally wear a size 10-10.5 shoe, but ordered these in size 9 per the advisory and am very satisfied with the fit when wearing winter socks. Had I ordered my usual size (10-10.5) these shoes would be far too large for my feet. These shoes keep my feet dry in the nasty slush, The only issue is that the laces don't have much friction against one another when tied so they can be loose in the knot.

Simply the best boots you can buy. A great value at $99.00! These boots are so well constructed that they should last a minimum of 10years. Great to see that made in America still works. Buy one size down since the boots are made to fit with a pair of thick socks. I will buy again.

I bought these to replace a pair purchased some 20 years ago; the upper parts of those shoes were in great shape but the bottoms had worn smooth and became quite slippery. These seem very similar but I do think they are made larger today. I wear a 9 - 9.5 shoe and only an 8 in these duck shoes. The catalogue states they run big . . . and they do!

My shoes arrived today and I have had them on since I opened the box. I LOVE 'EM!
