I just threw away the gum shoes I bought with snow shoveling money when I was 14 years old. I'm 59 now. They held up all these years until the foam ankle pads started disintegrating. I patched them with duct tape for a year or two, and even considered sending them back to get repaired. But having spent the first half of my life in New England and the second half in California, I decided to give myself the pleasure of opening the box and inhaling the smell of a brand new pair here on the West Coast. These are the Maine equivalent of Birkenstocks: The ugliest shoes you'll ever love. And they will never let you down.

I have love my Bean boots and now my shoes perfect for working my job on rainy days in SC.

Solid footing. Keeps feet dry in light snow. (I also have the 8" bean boots for deep snow) Really love the gumshoes. I wear size 12 shoes so I bought the gumshoes in size 12. They are definitely bigger than a standard 12, feel more like a 13. I wear with thick socks so the fit is pretty good. I also find that I can drive a car with these shoes. My old not bean snow boots were too clunky to drive in. Also love wearing the Bean shoes for dog walks thru the mud/snow in the park. Feet stay dry and the treads help prevent slipping. Highly recommend

Best Shoes for foul, wet weather or muddy conditions. I bought this pair to replace a pair I have had for over 20 years, which are still going strong. The bottoms have worn down and are a little slick on wet surfaces otherwise still prefect. The quality looks the same as the pair I am replacing and I expect to get 20 years out of the new pair. I hope I'm still around when this pair wears down. They will most likely go in my will.

Warm and Comfortable best describes these boots. I already had a pair of Rubber Mocs for working out in my yard. But when i used them for weed-whacking or chain-sawing, stuff would invariably get inside. Gumshoes to the rescue! Not only do they keep the stuff out, but they are warmer and more comfortable for the more rugged use - even at 40 degrees I could focus on my work and not on the elements. They are worth every cent.

These are great, high quality boots, that are comfortable right out of the box. Wonderful bonus that they are handmade right in Maine.

I was tired of messing up my gym shoes while gardening or even mowing. After some real muddy work finally trashed my gym shoes, I decided to get some dedicated shoes or boots that could get muddy or wet. I went to the local LLBean store, and they had the Bean Boot Moc but they were loose fitting over my ankle and I could slip out too easily. They didn't have the Gumshoe in stock, so I ordered on line. Size 10 to fit my normally size 11 somewhat wide feet. These fit great! Comfortable, even for walking while mowing! Mud washes off easier than from the bottom of my gym shoes. These lace up around my ankles and stay on. One note, the laces on the moc shoes are leather strips. Laces on these Gumshoes are the woven lanyard, which are easier to tie / untie imo. These will be the last yard shoes I will ever need to buy!

Outstanding footwear for wet weather. My last pair lasted 5 years of daily wear.

I've had Bean Boots my whole life, but these are my first pair of gumshoes. Great fit! Very comfortable! Great shoe for a warm SC rainy summer day.

It rains a lot in New Zealand where I live. For 42 years since I came here I have wearing my gum shoes in the garden and for walks after storms. They are perfect and each pair last more than a decade. Highly recommend for similar climates.

These shoes are great! Amazing for wearing during a rainstorm or dealing with small amounts of snow. Do your research about sizing, stop complaining about how these don't fit!!! Comfortable from the first wear and I trudged around the Brimfield flea markets wet grass and mud for 3 mornings and they worked wonderfully!

They are great shoes. They usually last me a year. I wear them 6 days a week 12 hours a day.

These are great shoes, and speaking with the representative, was advised about proper sizing and the delay due to backorder. The wait was so worth it. Be sure to call for advice on sizing.

I wear bilateral leg braces that fit inside the shoes because I have foot drop. I normally wear size 12 medium and these shoes fit well. They'd be better with a pull loop on the back.

I've own a pair of 10" version of this boot for 30 years; sole replaced once after 12 years. And, these lower boots are just as comfortable, reliable, and comfortable as my first ones. I use them all the time in the yard, at work, and for leisure. I was a little worried they'd fit right, but it was good advice to buy them a size smaller. I'm looking forward to having these boots as long as my other ones.

These shoes have passed the rest of time. These are my go to shoes on wet / snowy days. They're so well made and show little signs of wear & tear despite the usage I have put them through. I want to get another pair of bean boots, but these ones aren't anywhere near time to replace !

These are great winter weather shoes and they last forever. This is the second pair I've owned in my 76 years of life.

Outstanding if you wear a size ten you need to go down to a size eight because they run extremely big unless you have a narrow foot like I do
