Love the warmth and they are so comfortable. They are so comfy I actually wear them everyday however they are not good in high snow. The snow gets in and my legs get cold. So I use them as everyday boots when there's little snow and I have another pair of boots for high snow days. If you're looking for good daily winter boots for cold whether this is your boot! I will never wear anything else throughout the winter daily.

Great boots so far! My feet are warm and dry. Would have been 5 stars if the laces were longer. If you want to lace the boots all they way to the top rather than folding them down, you will need longer laces.

Absolutely love these boots! They were so great for several years. Eventually the upper detached from the rubber bottom.

Quality of boot looks great. I haven't worn them out yet. I'm a 7.5, ordered a 7 based on reviews. With thick socks they just fit. 7.5 would have been perfect. 8 probably would have been fine too. So True to Size IMO.
The packaging was bad. The boots are just in the shipping box with no protection or shoe box. The box had been torn open in transit and thankfully the boots were ok. I'd expect better packing with a $300 pair of shoes. Also wish they came laced up. And like others have said, the laces should be at least 6" longer.

The laces are WAY too thin and difficult to pull tight.

An excellent, warm boot. Very comfortable but I had to also wear a thin cotton sock to protect my foot from the break in the shearling where the back stitching goes across. I somehow thought the shearling would cover that, but doesn't. It's a bit rough on the inside but the socks did the trick! Excellent boot!

I'm a 7.5 and ordered an 8. It was way too big. Waiting on the exchange for a 7. Cannot really rate until I wear them.

I really like these boots. They are very comfortable although, like others said, the laces are too short. I'm able to lace up and put a bow in the laces but I have smaller than average calves. The boots are good in the snow and keep my feet dry in water.
On the other hand, the moment my foot is in the snow, I can feel the cold. Fortunately I have heated insoles so that does work. Some day there will be a warm boot. I haven't found it yet. The reason I chose LL Bean is because they are made in the US. Others had pictures of manufacturing flaws but my boots look great. No stitching issues or separation. I like them and would order them again.
Do order at least a size smaller if you wear socks. I wear thick wool socks and I ordered a size smaller. They fit perfect.

I love them. I wear an 8.5 and bought a 9 for comfort and to wear thick socks in snow. I never tied them all the way up so far because it is not snowing yet. But they are so comfy you can wear without socks. My only reason for doing less then 5 is the laces seem thin and may not hold up all winter. Not a biggie as I can buy new laces. Other than that they are warm, easy to walk in and have some traction. I would recommend to freinds. Height was great too. width perfect. NMot too wide nor too narrow. Im in CT

I love these boots. They run a little big - im usually a 5.5-6. Since size 6 is the smallest their making thats what i went with. I feel like if i wore some thicker socks it would help fill the shoe up more. The boots are nice and warm and waterproof. I use them to walk my dog every morning. I keep them on for most of the day they instantly warm me up in my old drafty house. Even though i would prefer they be smaller in size i would still highly recommend these boots.

These boots are very comfortable and fit as I hoped they would. Many boots are too narrow for me, but these were good. Not as warm as I had hoped - toes got cold in Minnesota northland but ankles were warm.

I have wanted a pair of these boots for a while but the price was more than I believed they were worth. I tried to purchase them during their 20% off sale time but they were out of stock. Prior to the sale they had narrow's in stock but not during the sale. I asked if I could buy them on back order but they said they wouldn't be making them again this season (this was in Jan). The day after the 20% sale had ended there was a pair of narrows in stock. I tried to speak to customer service but just got, so sorry they are full price and wouldn't honor the discount. I do like LLBean in general but through the years they have become less customer oriented.

I have been looking for a pair of boots to throw on to walk the dog barefoot for winter so was so excited to see these all shearling lined boots.
I ordered my regular size and they fit fine except: my issue with this particular boot is the tongue at the base. I have a high arch, so not sure if that is part of the issue, but there is a lot of leather in that area that won't lay flat so there is a bunch of leather the laces don't straighten out. For me it was annoying, maybe once you wear the boots the leather will soften? This coupled with the stiff laces, that will soften up as they are used, make bad combo. Note too the laces aren't long enough to tie, LLBEAN pay attention when selecting the lace length please! They are pricey so didn't want to risk it and am sending back. On a side note: I also ordered the 16" boots like this and noted they have a dart across the tongue in this area and there is no issue with the bunching leather so recommend this be done to these boots too.
The other reason these are not the boots for me because I realized it's too much to lace all that up just to run around the block with the dog!! You may not experience the same problem so recommend giving them a try. They are great barefoot and so wish they would have worked out for me.
LLBEAN, if you are listening I highly recommend you make a pair of 6" boots fully lined with shearling, not partially lined as is offered currently. I am waiting, please let me know if there is anything in the works!!!

I ordered these shearling lined boots in a woman's size 11d, which is the wide. I have long narrow feet and is hard to find boots and or shoes to fit, so I took a chance on these. The width was great, but unfortunately they once again were too short, I wish companies would take in account that not every female wears a size 8. It would be nice if these boots would be made up to a size 12, instead I usually have to look at men's boots which are more clunky and heavy. I can't comment on warmth or comfort, but they looked nice.

I love the fit, they fit better than any other snow boot I've ever owned. I do have two things that weren't exactly the best.
1) My toes get too cold, the rest of the boot is great. I'm not outside too terribly long but enough for my toes to start getting a little numb.
2) The boot laces are way too short, I noticed others seem to have the same concerns.
Other than those items, I think they are durable and comfortable. Just can't stay out very long.

I love the insulation, the waterproofing and the height of the boot. I love how warm they promise to be. They run very, very large though. I followed the guide and it says wearing thick heavy socks to order up. I normally wear a 10.5 to 11 and with my thickest winter wool hiking socks I figured I would have to order an 11. It's like a 5 year old trying on mom's high heels, I am swimming in them. Even with the massive socks on there is at least an inch of space between my big toe and the front of the boot. The regular width is a big wide too. I want to exchange them for a 10 since I really love the idea of these boots!

SIZING: I wear an 8 or 8.5 normally and have size 8 in these boots. They are on the roomy side, especially if I don't wear very thick socks. The 7 was great with regular socks, but tight with thick socks.
PROS:
-Super warm for walking. If it's not 30s or below, I don't wear these because they get too warm. (Caveat to this below).
-Do not leak. Although not technically waterproof, I have not had issues with water getting in even in heavy rain or lots of snow.
-Durable. Look brand new after 2 winters in Denver and Philadelphia.
-Good support and traction even with lots of walking.
CONS:
-The shearling is only on the uppers. If you are standing outdoors, cold from the ground seeps into the boots.
-Laces are too short to reach through all of the holes. They barely get through the second to top row of holes.
-Noticed some color transfer from the leather onto a pair of white pants.
OVERALL: These are high-quality boots and a good value for the price and durability. To make them work best, they need shearling footbed liners and longer laces.

This is a great boot, but unfortunately I ordered too large of a size. Be sure that if you are a half size that you order DOWN. I did not take the advice of the product info so it's nobody's fault but my own.
The leather is very stiff, and not at all broken in, which was unfortunate. I just ordered a different pair of LLBean Boots and the leather is awesome, soft, and amazing.

I bought these a couple of months ago after I had been pining after them for a few years. I live in Canada so the price tag was rather high, when I can buy tried and true Sorel boots for a fraction of that price (although sorel boots are not as aesthetically pleasing). I went for it knowing that LLBean boots are known for their quality and workmanship.
My friend had a pair so I knew roughly what size I needed (I'm a size 9.5 or 10 depending on the company. In open toed sandals my size is 9 and I have narrow feet). I got the size 9-so sizing down a half size is not a bad idea.
The boots are definitely water proof which is essential in northern ontario (I live in north bay ontario where winter conditions include piles of snow, and -35 Celsius days on the regular). So I was very pleased to read that these were warm and advertised as such.
However, the first day I wore them (it was about -5) my toes were absolutely frozen in under an hour. I was fairly disappointed but thought it was just my horrible circulation at fault. Every time I wear them outside however my toes suffer the consequences. The rest of my foot is fairly warm. I still wear them because I love them, and I wouldn't trade them for anything, but I wish there was some extra lining at the toe or something so that my poor feet wouldn't suffer! In my old Sorel boots my toes and feet were never cold. If it gets to below -10 I will have to bust out those ugly puppies again because these just don't cut it unfortunately.

I absolutely love the feel of my boots, they are comfortable and super cute but they are NOT good in snow. They are good to go from place to place but I learned my lesson I will NOT wear them in the snow again for long periods of time. There is no warmth in the toe area. I guess I underestimated the power of the bean boot. Dont get me wrong I love them just not for the snow.

All-in-all, I think these boots are good. Right out of the box they fit well (slightly large, but not too bad) and they look great. They are not nearly as warm as I was hoping they would be, but they will be fine for all but the coldest days. The few times that I wore them it was about 20 degrees Fahrenheit with heavy wool socks and my toes were definitely feeling a little chill after a few of hours. I'm hoping that some new wool insoles will help with this. The only other comment I would make was that I definitely received the wrong size laces, as I am only able to lace them up about 2/3 of the way up. So far it's been fine, but for the amount of money that was spent on these boots, that was a small disappointment. Since these boots were made in the Maine factory, I am hopeful that they will last a very long time.

Sizing: I wear a 7 1/2, but have a wide foot. I have LLBean storm-chasers, and a 7 Wide fits great. I originally ordered an 8 wide (after reading some reviews), and they were WAY too big. Exchanged for 7 wide - I can wear thick wool socks and still have plenty of room.
Water Proof -- Excellent. I wore these out in wet, deep snow, shoveling and trudging around for a couple of hours. My feet stayed completely dry.
Warmth -- Good. The temp during the wet deep snow was in the mid 20's. My feet stayed warm, but I was moving the entire time. Also wore them for an hour in 6 degree weather, and deep, cold, dry snow. Feet started getting a little chilled at the end. Again, I was moving the entire time. My feeling is that if I was just standing around in sub-freezing temperatures, they would not be warm enough.
Quality of Materials -- Excellent. These are very well made boots, with high quality material and craftsmanship. I have had multiple pairs of boots with a polyurethane layer that has disintegrated before the boots even showed any wear. These will never do that (which is the reason I bought them!)
Design -- Good. I like the height of the boot, the fit, the lacing, the materials... The only thing that could make them a little better would be another layer of cushion in the inside foot bed of the boot. I will add an insert which I think will help, but the inner sole seems to be thin for a winter boot.

I got these for Christmas and love them! I work in film and often have to work outside during the cold winter temperatures of VA for upwards of 12+ hours a day. I definitely needed something that was going to keep my feet warm and were durable. So far, these have been great. I wore them out in the snow this past weekend and had no problem. They do run large, though. I wear an 8.5, but the 8 was just fine. My only complaint is that the laces aren't long enough. They only go up to the hole second from the top and barely lace up on that one. I would buy longer ones from LL Bean, but I don't even think they sell them:(

I purchase a pair of WS 10 Shearling Bean Boots on 11/22/16. I believe LL Bean should use stronger boxes. The weak recycle box was badly damage by UPS. My boots resembled reject boots or poorly made boots. Not LL bean quality. I call LL Bean Company and they apologized and agreed to send me another pair of WS 10 Shearling Bean Boots. My boots came today a week later 11/29/2016 and the experience was VERY PEASANT. The recycle box was not damage and my boots fits well and the quality was excellent. I can't wait to wear them in this winter.
