I prefer soft cotton clothes, especially something like a robe, and my now well worn Nautica all cotton flannel really spoiled me from the day it was new. This LL Bean robe is all but its clone, though its all cotton flannel while very comfortable is not quite as soft. If a new and improved version ever appears I'm up for it. Meanwhile, this one does the job.

quite thin for use as a "winter" robe; belt loops are only anchored in on spot, not two; pockets are large; sleeves aren't too long for my height.

This was a gift for my boyfriend and he really likes it. "Soft, comfortable, and airy."

Warm and comfortable in correct size, but the length is at the knee, which is a few inches shorter than I like. It took more than 4 washing to get rid of the excessive lint, which does not happen with the flannel shirts.

Sleeves were a little tight. Very soft, comfortable and warm.

My husband liked it but he finds it a little long for his height :) He's name is on it so a plus!

Ordered the smith tartan plaid robe and pajama bottoms, fit was good however the flannel was very lightweight - really thought that it was going to be a little heavier for a winter robe and pj bottoms.

I bought two of these for my sons. 13 and 16 years old. They wear them all the time. They are a little thinner than I expected, but still very warm.

Great quality, perfect fit, but watch out for the laundering instructions. They indicate you can put this robe in the dryer, but DON'T. It will shrink. My nice tall-sized robe now had my wrists sticking out of the sleeves, I had to return and re-order. No more dryer for me, drip dry is the only way to go. This robe is 100% cotton and it WILL shrink in the dryer.

its a nice lightweight robe, needs a belt loop in the middle of the back for sure however, and the old LL bean flannel robes were at least twice as thick if not more, but for the price its a good product overall, Please add the belt loop, thats a real pain

Very nice feel BUT NO BELT LOOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BACK MAKES IT A PROBLEM.

Expected same, winter, robe, different color, as purchased three years ago. Disappointed. Flannel, definitely lighter weight but not indicated in catalog. Otherwise, quality is excellent. Keep it but may look elsewhere for heavier one.

I've had this lightweight, comfortable robe for six weeks, and I'm quite happy with it. I might have been a bit better off with an XL, but that's not LL Bean's fault. I may want to get a more traditional terrycloth robe for winter wear. We'll see. Bottom line: I would get it again.

Robe fits well, looks good, fair price. I'm happy.

After first laundry, robe did not require ironing, except the belt. It came out looking like a rope.

How much is there to say about a bathrobe? It was a gift for my husband and he was quite pleased with it. I had hoped to find one in red but.......

Soft and well made...

I am an average build with broad shoulders, but finally found the right size. I have bought a medium in the past but that was also way too big in the shoulders. I worried a small, regular, might be too short in the sleeves, but it is just right. Although, I have made sure not to machine dry, and wash in cold to keep the fit perfect. The flannel is medium weight, but is warmer than I expected. It seems like it will work for any season. So if you are usually a 42 inch, large in all your other clothes. I recommend the size SMALL in these flannel robes. I took off a star because the sizes are wrong, and that is a pain.

This is my second LL Bean robe. My old one served me well but the pockets started to give way. The new robe is very nice though the lining is not as heavy as the older one. Living in Wisconsin a heavy robe is very nice in the winter! With that said, I like my new robe and would recommend it to others. LL Bean makes a good product and I've been a customer for 40 plus years.

I went on a robe hunt this past year to find the most comfortable one, and I finally tried this one after reading Wirecutter's recommendation. The robe is great, and flannel is really soft after it's first wash. I went with a Small in this robe (I wear a Medium in their t-shirts) because robes tend to be pretty generously cut and I'm not super overweight. I'm happy with the small, but I could see it shrinking with enough washes that I might have been better off with a Medium. However, the small fits great and the sleeves aren't so long that they get in the way of making food or eating, and it looks more like I appreciate nice things as opposed to experiencing a mid-life crisis. My only complaint is that I wish they would have more modern colors. I ordered the Black Watch Tartan, and while it's probably the best color of the lot, I would prefer to see some nicer color schemes in the future.

This robe is very comfortable and warm; the only thing I wish it did not wrinkle so much . I have not washed it yet, so maybe it won't wrinkle as much after washing and drying.

This robe is so soft and cozy. Fit my 6'2'' boyfriend perfectly. Clearly I need to buy one for myself now because I steal his all the time. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because I got it monogrammed, and didn't realize how HUGE the monogram would be on the robe. The monogram is not all that nice looking in the end (slightly tacky, I think), and I wish I had just gotten it for him without the monogram.

size a little big but I like things loose. the only complaint I have is that product leaves ball of lint everywhere, after 5 or 6 washings getting better but still sheds

I bought this for my husband who has never worn a robe before and to my surprise, he wears it most mornings. He loves it!!!
