I really like this jacket. I ordered it in a large petite, I usually wear a medium but I wanted to be able to have a lot of layers under it. I ordered black but I wish it had come in brighter colors.

A great quilted pullover for working outside or hiking. Wore this under overalls while hunting with over a foot of snow on the ground. Stayed dry and warm. The deep, front pocket with zipper provided a great, dry space

Purchased this item in my usual LL Bean petite medium in the fatigue green. The petite large would have been ridiculously too big. I am typically a medium on tops for reference 34D chest, 30 waist, 5'2", 150lbs. PROS: Absolutely love the practicality of this jacket. Insulation is just right, roomy and warm. Love the color. The hem slightly brushes the lower hip. Ample room to layer up. CONS: Tricky to put on and off but that's expected with a pullover. The hem is not stretchy which makes putting on/off tricky. Would be nice if it had a side zipper.

I had to return the large I originally ordered for a medium. The medium is exactly the same size as a large #TA504141. The medium is still quite roomy, but there's plenty of room for a sweater or fleece top.

Based on other reviews I sized down and I am glad that I did. Depending on clothing (brand and type) I wear a medium for items that should be fitted or a large. This medium is not form fitted, but a little boxy in design. It is very comfortable and flattering. I can wear a thin and fitted fleece under it and still move comfortably, but anything thicker wouldn't work. I have been using this to shop and run errands this fall/early winter wearing a tank, short sleeved, or long sleeved shirt underneath (depending on temperature of the day). It is perfect for running about town. It is warm enough that I am not cold (even when the temperature is in the 30's, but I am not hot when I get inside a store (if I am wearing a long sleeved shirt I might unzip to the kangaroo pocket). I have worn this when the temperature rose into the high 50's/low 60's and until I was in direct sunlight with no breeze did I start to feel too warm. I love having the kangaroo pocket. I am able to secure my keys, wallet, and holiday receipts, while in a store and I keep my phone in the slide pocket (which goes behind the kangaroo zip) along with my hand sanitizer for quicker access. The hood has come in handy when it rains or snows. The material of this jacket is lightweight, warm, and wind/water resistant (I am only walking in rain for short distances (from my car into a store for example) and I have remained dry. I know that other reviews have complained that the jacket is not waterproof- if you are a mom trying to get stuff done, this is perfect. If you are a true outdoors-woman who is hiking for hours or days at a time, you may need to pack additional gear for sustained rain. I have not experienced insulation coming out of the jacket like in other reviews, but I will keep a close eye as I continue to wash and wear. I figure that within a year (the warranty) the problem with either appear or it won't. There are so many things I love about this jacket I am hoping that the insulation doesn't become a problem.

I bought this coat in green, 35 plus yrs ago. I still have it and the windbreaker like it. It's the best. I love the half zip and the kangaroo pocket in the front. Very convenient for stashing keys, phone etc. PS, I like my clothes roomy, so I always buy bigger.

This is an incredible product. It fits well, however if I could go back I'd get a Large. I bought one for me and my boyfriend for a recent trip we took. For two Florida kids, we stayed pretty cozy in the snow just wearing this and a single layer underneath. My only two complaints are this attracted static like crazy and the insulation within seemed to gather in little balls outside of the jacket. That last one is a complaint I saw in the reviews before I bought, so I was expecting that to an extent. I'd say it is still worth the buy just because of how well it worked keeping us warm, as well as how functional it was while climbing the mountains.

I really love this jacket! It is perfect for fall and spring weather when I am walking my dog, hiking trails, or running errands around town. I love the big front pocket, muffler pockets, and hood. It's very roomy for a fleece top underneath. Thank you, LL Bean, for another great product!

First, let me expound on the great fit giving me full range of motion for walking, hiking, yard work, you name it, from the minute I pulled it on it was pure comfort, not too tight, not too big. Second, the warmth plus breathability is incredible - the insulation has kept me pleasantly warm on breezy 50*F days to frigid 15*F days. Third, the fitted hood. I love the way it fits, snug, but not too tight, really providing great protection from the wind and driving snow. Finally, I love the rugged material. I've pushed through bramble bushes, slipped in the mud, and rubbed up against you name it - and every time this jacket comes out of the washer and dryer looking like new. LOVE this Anorak --- Let me count the ways!

I have lived my entire adult life in two cities with serious weather: Boston and Pittsburgh. I searched for years at a multitude of price points to find a comfortable coat that would work well in a cold, rainy climate. I am petite, but ordered the regular XXS for more room to put a thick fleece on underneath on colder days. Great to wear to the gym, running errands, or even in the backyard around the fire pit. Own it in two colors! Husband saw how much I loved it and ordered the mens' version.

I purchased the Sea Pine and it is a very pretty color. Bit darker then the website (which is always the case), but in this case, I like how it is darker. This pullover runs a bit large. I purchased my normal size of SM and could have easily fit into an XS if I wanted a "perfect" fit. However, the SM allows for layering, and although it is roomy, it is not sloppy so I prefer it this way. I hope I do not experience the "pilling" some people have noted. This is a great all around fall, winter, spring jacket. Buy it!!

I bought this anorak in two colors, the Spruce and the Navy. I live in Alaska's Arctic and these are perfect for our spring and fall cool and rainy seasons. There is just enough insulation and the anoraks are roomy enough for layering, if needed. I love the length! I am extremely happy with the fit and with the garments. Would definitely purchase again.

I received this jacket as a birthday gift (January birthday) a couple of years ago and it is still one of my most worn jackets. I cannot stress how amazing this jacket is. When I wear it no wind or rain can penetrate through. I've been fine on the tops of mountains while my friends have been freezing. I try to convince everyone that they too need this jacket because it is a life saver. I bought small yet it is a little big which is okay because I can wear a layer underneath if needed. I liked this so much I have ordered the classic non-insulated version and I am going to buy my boyfriend one too because I am sick of him not having a real well-made wind breaker.

I also have the uninsulated version that is always the first thing I pack to go on any trip. A friend has this insulated jacket and raved about it. I went back a forth on buying the large or x-large. I have big shoulders and long arms. The large fit better through the body and was more flattering, but I thought I might ski in it on warmer days so wanted the extra room for layering and being able to move freely. Well it turned out it became my regular choice for skiing all winter. With a fleece under it, along with thermal underwear and a turtleneck, I was plenty warm even on the coldest days. There was still room enough that I could have added a light down jacket under it if it got colder. I love the kangaroo pocket! It's big enough to carry a water bottle and a snack. The open pocket is deep enough that things don't fall out. The hood is big enough to pull up over my helmet. It's the ski jacket I didn't know I was looking for! The only (slight) negative is with so many black jackets on the mountain, the people I ski with had a hard time picking me out. I've also used this jacket for taking walks and hikes. It's warm enough, and water resistant enough to be great! I would love more color choices, solid and/or color block. I would definitely buy another one of these.

Love this anorak. I was worried it would be too small, considering that people my size or bigger were getting a smaller size than I ordered. I'm 5'2'' and around 100-103 lbs. I honestly don't know how people that are bigger than me were getting an XXS Petite. I like my stuff to be loose, but not oversized. This was the perfect fit for me. I can definitely layer things under it, but I don't think that would have been possible with an XXSP. With that being said, I feel like if you are my size and you are on the fence about an xxs or the xs, go with the xs! It also keeps me dry, and warm. The hood is a great, perfect size. I love how it actually covers my entire head and can be adjusted. The kangaroo pocket is also a plus. I love how roomy and big it is. I can literally fit so much stuff in it! This is definitely one of my favorite purchases this year. :)

The windproof, LL Bean fleece anorak jacket I had been wearing for cross-country skiing for nearly 20 years finally gave up this year when the interior fell apart during a washing. It was a great ski jacket and served me well for all of those years, so I again turned to LL Bean for its replacement. I haven't worn this new anorak jacket to ski in yet, but I think it will be great. The fit and weight of the jacket are just right for skiing and other outdoor activities where you are active and get too hot in a heavy jacket. I love to have a hood - especially on windy days; and you can tuck your chin into the top of the jacket with the zipper all the way up if needs be. The anorak style provides enough room for skiing, and is long enough to cover your bottom. The only thing missing that I liked on my old jacket is armpit zippers. If you are a skier, you know that it can be a real workout and you need to let body heat escape sometimes. The front zipper, however, zips down far enough that I think I can still get a necessary cool-down. Overall, I think it's a really nice jacket. I hope it, (and me), survive for another 20 years of cross-country skiing!

Good fit, pockets keep phone & keys secure. Nice mid weight jacket. Can wear long sleeve tee underneath without feeling tight. I always wear fleece, so this is a nice change. Hood has good coverage, very pleased with my purchase.
