I originally got a medium. I am over 38 inches in the bust. But I have thin arms, small shoulders and a narrow ribcage. The fit was really loose. I exchanged it for a small, and the fit is much more flattering. There is still room to wear a sweater underneath! It's not snug anywhere. It's not very warm, but I didn't get it with that expectation, though some high tech thinsulate or something would have been nice at this price point.

A early fall and spring jacket when a lot of weight is not needed. I have long arms and the sleeves are good. I like the idea of the snaps when a warmer day with no wind.

This is a really nice coat. Light weight. More for fall in Michigan weather. It is a fit cut so you may want to size up if you want to layer underneath. I would give it 5 stars but it lacks secure pockets. An inside pocket would add a lot. . The outside pockets are deep but I wish they zipped. I stopped carrying a purse with Covid so I need good pockets.

Loved the style. Not bulky at all. Comfortable for driving. Have to get used to the zipper. If you're not careful it gets stuck do to the two zippers so you can open for more comfort sitting. I felt it ran a bit small so I ordered a size bigger so you can wear bulky sweaters underneath for really cold days.

I purchased a Petite Medium as I need a shorter length in the arms. The jacket fits perfect, ordered it in Black.
I did however think it would be a bit heavier or warmer. Which is why I didn't give it 5 stars.
It is very thin, and really meant for fall or early spring. At least here in suburban New York. Great for wearing in the car and running errands. Not meant for winter wear.

I treated myself to this lovely quilted jacket which is very appropriate for the fall in Connecticut, for my birthday in September 2020. The orange color is very lovely, and the interior is a very nice plaid, making the sleeves able to be cuffed for added style.
It is warm yet not too warm. I can fit a light sweater underneath it.
I wore it probably about 8 times before I experienced a sudden problem with the zipper, which is very curious. The zipper goes together, but when I attempt to pull it upwards to close the coat, it will not budge. Then, other times, after several attempts, the zipper itself moves up, but the two sides with the teeth remaine open. (sorry, I do not know zipper lingo). In other words, the zipper is broken, and the jacket will not close unless I use the snaps, but I prefer that zipper! I am disappointed about this because this was an expensive jacket and my birthday gift! I have yet to contact LL Bean but I need to do so soon because I want to wear this jacket. The zipper is my only complaint. Otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.

This is a very nice jacket. It has a plaid lining and corduroy under the collar. It is quilted to keep you warm. I do wish the lining had been flannel. I have been able to wear it in the 40's. I do think it was a bit pricey.

The coat fits comfortably over a sweater. The style could be a bit more flattering. Despite the snaps in the back the coat is loose in the waist.

This is a great light jacket, I bought it for this spring season for the in between temps and all the walking we are doing during quarantine. My only complaint is the angle of the pockets is slightly awkward. I have shorter arms and sleeves are frequently too long on me. These need to be cuffed over for me, but the lining is a decorative plaid, so I actually think the sleeves are meant to be folded back. It's very tailored and with a 36F chest, It zips with no problem in a size medium.

Just loved the classy, semi-dressy look of this jacket right out of the package. The tailoring is really nice with extra features such as the adjustable tab at the side and those pretty snaps. And I've been looking for something like this in cream. It fits me perfectly except the sleeves are way too long by 1 1/2 inches; they would be easy to turn under and shorten, even just an inch would make them work HOWEVER due to the snap at the bottom of the sleeve, this isn't doable. Then the second issue is that 2-way zipper. Laying the jacket on the dining room table, I spent 15 minutes trying to get it zipped - no way would the bottom and top zipper parts go together! And I even found some videos on YouTube on how 2-way zippers work; but they were no help. So with these two issues, I'm returning this lovely jacket.
Please, LL Bean consider just putting a regular one-way zipper on this jacket AND make the sleeves shorter in the Petite. (And I did read lots of other customer reviews before my purchase, but figured a zipper certainly couldn't be an issue for me (Ha! Ha!) and sleeve lengths have never been an issue. I have two other older LL Bean winter jackets with NORMAL zippers and the sleeve lengths are just fine; one I purchased 10 years ago in size Regular (perhaps it wasn't available in Petite). The newer one is Petite.
So I am sad to be returning this lovely jacket. Been an LLBean customer since the 70's!

I wear a petite XL and the jacket was too tight for me. It's beautiful and well made, I wish I could have kept it but I would not have ever warn it.

I love the look of the jacket. Nice comfortable not to heavy for everyday activities. Just wish the inside was actual flannel and not print.

I really like this jacket, so much so this purchase was my second one. I now have a green and blue one. Fit is perfect.
My only negative is the zipper. It sticks. Can be hard to pull up so I just use the snaps when in a hurry. The same with my first jacket which I bought last year. I was hoping the zipper was improved. I must say it has improved greatly with use

I was hoping for a more flattering fit from a petite XS but this was still very roomy and square. Tightening the back buttons just gave it an hourglass look.

The jacket is well made and the fit was good, but the navy color is drab, and I would prefer
no snaps in the back. I would recommend the jacket to a friend if she prefers a fitted look and uses both snaps, which I think looks better than having the other plain snap showing.

Reviewers who were my height/weight had ordered petite smalls that fit them perfectly. When I got mine, it was tight across the shoulders and in the hips. Loved the coat, good quality and classic style, so I'm returning for a medium regular.

Jacket fit is flattering with tabbed back and nice long sleeves. Not bulky; tailored and casual lean. Purchased, in part, because of the sleeve length review commentary. If they were shorter, I'd probably return. As it is, considering the purchase of another color, as well!

I purposely ordered a regular medium thinking I would wear a thick cardigan under this on colder days. I saw that it was deemed a more relaxed fit. Well, I can say there must not be a large delta between small and medium because I will likely not be fitting the thick cardi I had planned under it! I don't think it will fit comfortably. Would I say relaxed fit? No, but it is very nice looking and I am very pleased overall with it. Supposedly it can be warn in low 30's without a sweater so I guess I won't be needing one, but I am a pretty standard sized person and this is by no means "relaxed".
I was able to roll up a cuff once to show off the cute lining, which as someone that borders on "petite" I have to do that on all my clothes, so I wonder if someone that really wears a medium is able to roll it up to show the lining.
Anyways, I am happy I have it, I may be ordering it when it comes in a white tone later this winter since I like white jackets too. The navy is quite beautiful and the lining is adorable.

First of all, there is no way this jacket is going to keep my warm when it's 32 degrees out. Maybe, and only maybe, with a thermal undershirt and cashmere turtleneck. It's not heavy enough for the for anything under 45 degrees (assuming - I'm in Boston, it's not that cold yet.) The plaid inside is a cute feature, but at my height, the sleeves aren't long enough to fold back the cuff so it will never be seen. I hadn't decided the jacket's fate before starting this review, but now I've talked myself out of it. At this price, even on sale, it just doesn't have enough going for it. That said, the fit of the body was perfect.

what's with the sleeve length of this jacket? Are they to be worn only rolled up? Regular sleeve lengths are at times a little too long on me, but this was really excessive. I literally have to fold them up about 2 inches, and this is the size small. Yes, the lining is pretty, but it is not how i want to have to wear it always. Will try a petite, but i kind of like the longer length of the jacket, just the sleeves are way over. Bummer

Actually the large fit body just fine but the sleeves were too long. I returned it for a large Petite and the sleeves are perfect, they are 1 1/2 inches different. And I thought the Cayene was too orange so I also swapped out for the Cream color offered as petite not in the regular sizes.

I do really love the look of this jacket. For some reason, the quilting inside made me think it would be slightly warmer but it is really super lightweight. The color is also a duller navy than I thought...much closer to black than blue. Other than that though, great fit and looks nice. Warm enough with a fleece underneath.

The coat fits reasonably well--not a custom fit, of course. I put the side belts on the most fitted snaps because I don't like snaps showing. Since I'm not fond of coats that zip, I was happy to have the snap closure option. I'd rather the zipper didn't show, however. The sleeves are too long for me, so I use the option I've use with earlier versions, which is to tuck the extra length under, since I prefer a dressier look. All in all, I'm satisfied with the coat.
