The other reviewers are correct about the zipper on this jacket. I, too, thought it was just this particular jacket, but all of them have zippers that get stuck. I ordered the deep olive color, but when it arrived the color was lighter than the photo. It is more of a cactus color than a deep olive. The jacket fit me really well, so it's unfortunate that I will be returning because of the faulty zipper and color.

The zipper doesn't work well. It gets stuck and can't unzip. I returned it. Seemed like a great jacket if it didn't have such a critical flaw.

I just didn't think this jacket was worth what is being charged - at all. I don't like nylon linings, they're too slick and cold in the winter. Just not up to LL Bean's normal quality. Returning.

The coat was just what I wanted . . .but the very first (and only) time that I put the jacket on, the zipper jammed. Try as I might, I couldn't open it. When I returned my purchase to the local LL Bean store, the salesperson couldn't fix it either. This is not the first problem that I've had with LL Bean zippers. I usually don't order a jacket unless it has buttons as a fallback plan. Took a chance with this coat . . .and lost.

This coat has no give once you put it on, it is impossible to move your arms., as it is tight across the shoulders. Nice looking coat, but not wearable.

I wanted to love this coat so much, and I ordered it online at full price. A button literally popped off when I opened it to try it on. Cheap. You'd expect more at this price point.

I gave it a low rating because although I ordered an XL, the cost should have been loose on me for layering other clothes underneath, but it was too small. The problem was in the shoulders. They were so narrow for a coat that was fuller everywhere else. It was a nice looking garment though. Sad it didn't work out.

Had this jacket for about a year. I purchased in petite and even then it was a loose fit, which I did not mind. High price but was willing to pay to get years' worth of use. But after about a year, the lining came apart from inside the jacket which became a much larger tear. I returned and requested a refund. Initially, customer service was unwilling to accept the return and, while respectful, tried to insinuate that it was my fault the seems came undone, that the jacket must have been too tight for me which clearly was not the case. Ultimately they did accept the return. I will not be purchasing from this brand again. Not worth the price for cheap materials.

This is yet another negative customer review based on the zipper used in an LL Bean coat. I returned the first jacket that I bought after the zipper jammed repeatedly. Ever the optimist, I bought a second coat in the same style. . .again, the zipper(s) caught and went off the track(s). So, this one will also be going back. I don't understand why LL Bean continues to use this type of zipper. Certainly, there have been numerous complaints! Such a great company should do better by their customers.

I should have read the reviews before I purchased this because I see people have complained about the same thing but the jacket is very thin and the lining is polyester printed with a flannel print it's not actually flannel. I used the size guide for my size but the jacket is cut way too narrow in the shoulders and hips, looks cute in the picture but unfortunately it's going back.

I was so very happy to find a jacket that did not have a stand-up collar. But..for size xl petite, the sleeves were much longer than the other LLB jackets I own. The shoulders were too wide, The zipper could not be zipped . It has 3 components. I could not get them to line up. The reddish color is gorgeous! I am returning it.

I was extremely disappointed in this purchase. For the price it's very thin, cheap looking and not warm at all. It's not even a good windbreaker. Would not recommend at all.

I'm tallish, slimmish, and have a significant bust, so I always order the largest sizes in coats and try to make adjustments as needed. But as other reviewers have pointed out, the shoulders are much too narrow. Out of curiosity, I laid it across an old size 10 suit jacket I have -- same width, pretty much. In what universe is an "extra large" equivalent to a size 10? Pretty irritating. And feeing disinclined to try any of the other coats here, for the same reason. Beautiful color. (orange.) It's a pity.

I started with this jacket in a medium because of the size chart, everything fit great except the shoulders, this is a common problem for me so I decided to reorder in the large. Literally everything got larger except the the shoulders. I am sending this one back as well. I'm very disappointed in this jacket and LL Bean for manufacturing something so disproportionate. If you aren't a small, this won't fit you.

Disappointed with this jacket. Way overpriced for the quality and features. No zip up pockets. Very lightweight. Sorry I purchased it. Runs small so at least I am happy with fit.

Very nice jacket - lightweight yet warm with a cute lining material and style. . .BUT the zippers are difficult to use (there is a double zipper and the top zipper has an odd, thin "handle" that flops around and is difficult to hold) and also constantly jam during zipping. Frustrating! So, as nice as the jacket is I returned the product because of the awful zipper.

Ordered this in medium blue. I'm 55 years old, 5'5" & 150lbs, thought this would be a no brainer success. Disappointed for two reasons: fit and quality. The shoulders are so narrow I couldn't lift my arms, yet the waist and hip are much wider than me. Made me look like a giant blue bell. The bust, the only measurment they give you, was just fine once I put a sweater under. Jacket: shoulders 16 across" - I'm 20", bust 42" - I'm 38.5 (rib cage is 32"), waist 40" - I'm 34" hips 46" - I'm 39" Shoulders fit like an XSMALL and the rest fit like an XLARGE. THey should provide waist and hip measurements for outerwear. Would save a lot of return shipping fees. The nylon lining was cold to the touch. Nylon is used in summer clothes to keep you cool. Should be a poly or wool lining. The insulation was non-existent. Quilting is purely decorative, not to keep you warm on a cool autumn day. Returning immediately. The photos look great, but the sizing off.

For reference, I am 5'4", 120lbs, and 32B. I typically wear size a US 0/ UK 4 and a size S in other outdoor brands such as Patagonia and North Face. After reading some reviews prior ordering this, I expected the jacket have a roomier fit, but I don't think I've ever tried on anything that was this large and claimed to be XS. I ordered both the Misses' and Petite XS and it fit like a Medium. I couldn't get it fit properly unless I wore at least a hoodie and a fleece zip up underneath it - needless to say I was swimming in it. I'm disappointed because the jacket is exactly what I have looking for and the design and style is great. I just hope they have plans to make XXS and XXXS in the future or make sizing more accurate!

I never expected to be making my first return with this jacket. I knew I was going to be disappointed when I saw the package. Light weight and so thin there was no way there was a jacket in there!! I was right. My first impression was that they sent me the wrong color. I ordered black, but this jacket looks dark brown. The fit is way off, and tight across the back and arms, and as a taller shopper, I find it is way to short...but I can't really hold that against LLBEAN. The jacket is NOT warm. It is thin, like a quilted bathrobe. This is a spring jacket, and will not keep you warm in a temperature below 45 degrees. It is completely unflattering, and honestly quite ugly when on. The price is way too high, even on sale.
