I've had the vista line of bottoms for several years so far. ALL is a medium. I already had two pair of these vista shorts and decided this year to buy another pair. The medium was almost two inches wider on the waist. I had to return and purchase a small, which felt weird because I was so used to buying mediums. I'm hoping someone figures this out before I have to purchase another pair. One other note I've been meaning to comment onthe drawstring is made of a stretch material. When one wants to tighten the waste band in, it is difficult if the cord is made of a stretch material. It should not be made to stretch.

I wanted the longer version of these shorts but Bean was sold out, so I tried these. Too short! Please get the longer ones back before summer is over!

These are great shorts for camping, but too short to wear in town to run errands, go shopping, etc. The fabric and drape are nice, they're lightweight and pack well, but just too short. And the Bermuda shorts are all sold out! Please, Mr. Bean, get some more Bermudas!

I REALLY like these shorts - they fit perfectly and make me look sharp. They're a little shorter than the Treking Shorts which I feel gives me more flexibility in clambering around. I also like the zippered pockets. I would give them a 5 but would prefer them to be made out of recycled material, if possible.

While I'm not a fan of drawstrings (they add more bulk to my already-bulky waist), I've really enjoyed these shorts. I have them in 2 colors and am considering a third. After gaining a few Covid pounds, I really appreciate the elastic waist - the shorts fit now, but should also work well when/if I eventually shed those pounds. The very lightweight fabric takes a little getting used to, but is very comfortable for hot Southern summers.

Good pants. Wish they had velcro or a zipper on the back pockets to make them more "useable". The middle tends to fold over when tied so they'll stay up. (The middle ends up looking like a scrunchy around my waist.) Other than that, I put my money in one front pocket, my phone in the other, zip and go.

Lightweight and plenty of pockets. Just two minor complaints: (1) the back pockets are too low, and (2) the pants wrinkle. Taking advice from other reviewers, I ordered a size smaller than I normally wear. I usually wear medium bottoms, so I ordered small. The small fits just right.

These shorts are great but I wish that the ties had been made shorter. Even though I tie them before washing, they always seem to come undone and then get caught in my dryer. One set has already been destroyed. I cut them off and am still wearing the shorts.

I love these shorts. I've always found LLBean to be very true to size, so I'm surprised to see some reviews stating they run large. Maybe it's just my wishful thinking, but I think they are right-on regarding size. Does anyone know how they feel if they get wet? Planning on wearing them to an amusement park that has some water rides. Wondering if I need to bring a change of clothes. Want to avoid chafing.

Shorts are very comfortable and light. I would like to see these with a 4 inch length for those of us who wear petite sizes. I had to hem them for the desired length. Otherwise I'd purchase again.

I am a medium in pretty much every other bottom, but these were unwearably large. Need to size down to a small. Material is very soft - can see why these shorts have such great review

These shorts are feather light and so comfortable, but I should have ordered down one size from my usual. Now I've worn them several times and thrown away the tag and packaging, so I'm not going to return them because that would be wasteful (I think they would be thrown away). I am a short woman, so the crotch is also a little long on me, thus I cinch up tie and wear them a little above my waist. I think these will be my favorite shorts for lounging in the house this summer, but they aren't very flattering for me to wear out. They are baggy and a bit too long. When I have another $60 to spend on a discretionary purchase, I'll order a smaller size. I wish they came in khaki for us plus-sized ladies. I bought the black which I like and I'll order the navy next time, but the olive doesn't go with any of my shirts like a pair of neutral khaki ones would. I do recommend these comfortable shorts if you like a loose fitting style.

soft and comfy, a little tighter in the waist than the capri and pant vista camp. the pockets zip, which is great, but b/c these are so light weight the zipper doesn't lay flat and it's a little uncomfortable at times putting my hand in and out of the pocket, not uncomfortable enough to keep me from wearing these A LOT.

I wanted some comfy shorts to lounge around my home, and these are very comfortable. The fabric is light and stretchy, and the waistband is not constricting at all. I do wish they were shorter. I think the inseam on these is 7 inches in a plus size. I would have preferred something closer to 5 inches.

I would like to see another version of these shorts with a 9 inch inseam and no back pockets. They aren't very flattering and side pockets are enough. Otherwise, very nice.

These are comfortable nylon shorts. Didn't give it a 5 because drawstring in waist is way too long, and if you cut it, you have a ragged edge.

I have a really difficult time finding shorts that fit and are long enough for my standards. I'm 5'11" and generally wear a size 14/16. But, I have The Hips and The Thighs...if you know what I mean. I bought 2 pair of these shorts (blue and the camp green). The colors are neutral and the pockets are large enough for a wallet or your average cell phone. I do wish there was a little more give in the hip/thigh area. I think if I'd ordered an XL, that would probably be a better fit - but I worry the waist would be too large then. (That happens a lot.) The main thing for me was the length; they're about mid thigh!! The material is super light and great for hiking, etc. Though, I'll honestly just be wearing these all summer - biking, grocery store, hanging around the house.

I am so happy with these shorts, the elastic waist is super comfortable, they wash and dry easily, the zipper pockets are great to hold my oversized phone. I have two pairs (black and gray) and they are all I've worn since it's become warmer. These are the perfect shorts to wear during the pandemic. I call them my comfy shorts.

Fit and fabric are great . I wish you had a longer version...just a few inches; not capri, but Bermuda shorts length.. And how about some light colors? kacki, medium blue? I would buy more.

The fabric is wonderful, worth the price. It gives without looking like it stretches. The material is light and non-bulky, good for racket sports, among other things, and very light weight in feel.

As per other reviews I ordered a size smaller and it was perfect. Only olive available in my size but its very nice. pockets have zippers but I wish maybe they didnt or only one side maybe. however, my cell phone did slide out of the pocket in the car so probably good to use the zipper in such cases. The material is slick so easy for cell phones to slide out when sitting. Otherwise a great pair of shorts.

The Vista Camp Shorts are light weight and comfortable. I bought them for working in the yard, among other things, and they appear durable, are cool, and wash well. I usually order clothing from LL Bean in size small (reg or petite) and usually the fit is great. The small for these shorts is slightly roomy in the waist (even thought there's a drawstring), but still OK since they are relaxed in style and a slightly looser fit works OK for hot weather activities. I liked them enough to order a second pair!

I am 59 years old, and I have looked for exercise shorts literally for years. When I found these, I bought all 4 colors. They come up to the waist, are the perfect length, and have zippered pockets that will fit a cell phone. They dry very quickly. One word of caution: when I first tried them on, they were too big, but they shrunk in the dryer, so now they are true to size. I no longer put them in the dryer.

I love the comfort and length of these shorts. As others have mentioned, these pockets are not deep enough. Please LL Bean, make these pockets deeper!
