I bought another pair of "large" shorts (Tropicwear) and both pair were VERY big for size "large". These shorts are cute though and not too short. Sorry I had to return them.

Wow, I hated these shorts! I was looking for a pair of shorts I could wear wear to bike and walk around in this summer but that could also work for coffee or lunch or errands. These are not those shorts! The fabric was really thin, and the nylon was more apparent than I'd thought (they make a slight swishing noise when you walk). They were also long! I don't know why the plus sized shorts are a whole inch longer than the regular size. Such a bummer!

Cute style, but didn't work for me. They run a little large. They are stretchy and have a drawstring, but the drawstring itself is stretchy, so its not very functional in tightening the waistband. The fabric is very thin and pills easily.

If you get these because you like the pants and capris order 2 sizes up. Not the same

These are cool and light weight. Fit great. My issue is they pill very bad. I wash them inside out and do not dry them in the dryer. I have several pairs and colors. They all pilled. Because of this I cannot recommend these shorts. Not the quality I expect from LLBean.

These shorts are lightweight and great in very warm weather. They are extremely comfortable to wear. I liked them and bought one in each color. My advice in the care of these shorts: - Turn inside out before placing in the washer. - Wash using delicate cycle. - Line dry only. I've had to replace each pair because the pilling was very so bad... after one wash (which is why I advised the above). If I hadn't found them so comfortable and flattering, I would not have replaced them.

I really wanted to love these shorts. They just fit a bit oddly, especially at the zippered pockets

I bought these shorts last summer and wore them several times because they are very comfortable. Unfortunately, the fabric is not as durable as the description would lead you to believe. They don't rip if they get caught on a branch or briar, they just get a large pull in the fabric. I walk well groomed trails, that it's a stretch to even call hiking. I would not recommend buying these for anything mentioned in the description, but sitting on the beach. The photo shows the pull after I carefully pulled the fabric back down at the hem.

I have many pair of these shorts, the regular ones and the shorter pairs. Every one has pulled. I wash in cold and hang to dry. These shorts are so cute but the pilling is terrible.

I bought several pair of these shorts. Very disappointed in the fabric NOT llbean quality, the fabric pills they have never been in the dryer, washed in cold where and hang to dry. I absolutely love the style and fit, I haven't returned because of that , and I don't take advantage if great businesses I have never bought any products from llbean I have not liked except the quality of the fabric of these shorts they fit great and love the light weight fabric, but it is not good quality fabric. I Hate to give bad reviews but this one needs to be sent.

Have 2 pairs of shorts made out of this fabric (tan & graphite). Both have pilled so badly, they cannot we worn in public. Love the shorts, BUT. Have you changed the fabric or done anything to address this? For the price and coming from llbean, I expect better.

I thought these would be the same great camp shorts I ordered last year and love, but they for some insane reason decided to change the fabric from a comfy tencel blend to a shiny nylon/spandex blend. They restyled it too. I use last year's shorts for gardening mainly and loved using the front patch pockets for shoving my dandelion digger, pruner, etc in, and they did away with that too, remaking these with side zip pockets that bulge out and don't fit anything. They also seem to fit smaller and with no give whatsoever. A gigantic disappointment.

I bought these shorts two weeks ago. Wore them twice and washed them once, hung them to dry and the back is already pilling so much I feel uncomfortable wearing them. They were expensive shorts so getting two wears out of them is so frustrating They fit well and I like the style but if you want shorts that will last long DONT BUY THESE

Wore them one time - threads unraveled in waistband and tie string twisted and shriveled. I will be returning them

I returned them because I didn't like the fabric or the style. They may be fine on someone else, but they did not flatter my body type at all.

I wanted to love these. Very comfortable and nice long length (I'm tall and that is often a problem for me). However, I wore them once (hadn't even washed them yet) around the house and for a short walk around the neighborhood and they were already pilled on the backside by the end of the day. I hadn't sat on anything rough/abrasive. I can't recommend them for actual outdoor use if they can't even hold up to sitting on a couch. Disappointed, especially at this price point.

These are the perfect summer shorts with zip pockets. I would have kept them and even ordered a second pair, but they are way too big and unfortunately do not come in petite sizes. LLBean, please consider making some shorts that are in petite sizes!

I bought thes shorts mid April and they are already pilling after only 2 months of about weekly wear. This makes me so sad because these are by far the most comfortable shorts I've ever owned and they are the perfect length for me too. When I first got them I wanted to buy the pants and capris too, but not anymore. Buyer beware.

these fit way too large, both in the over all size and also in the leg opening. (leg meaning above the knee). The material would have been fine for summer weather, however with the fit being so off, they're not keepers.

I bought these black shorts in July '20 only to be so disappointed with their wear. I realized when I brought them on vacation that they are pilling -- so unfortunate! I loved the fit but it seems the material does not wear well at all.

I had such high hopes for these shorts. I am tall and curvy and these were just awful on me.
