I love the vista camp pants so figured I'd try out the shorts. They are comfortable with a nice amount of stretch and a good length for me, I'm 5'2". I also love that they come in the darker colors.

I have been searching for a pair of quick dry shorts to use for bathing suit bottoms for multiple tops that I have and for Kyaking, etc. I ordered from several other companies and had to return. I happened to stop at L.L. Bean on my way to the airport at 1:30 in the morning and found these gems. They do run large so if you want something tighter you may want to go down a size I love the zip side pockets the expandable waist band and everything about the shorts. I might need them in all colors!

Easy fit and wash. Material does pill between thighs if thighs are not thin. Does not make swishing noise when walking if upper thighs are large.

These are great shorts for paddling, they dry quick and work over my thin wet suit. While I like them they are a bit high priced considering their simple construction.

I love these shorts, but that said, the leg openings could be a bit narrower (reason for the 4 stars). I have heavy thighs and they are still a tad wide for me, but I still love them. I have two pair. For those of you that love narrower legs the bermuda shorts in the vista camp selection are awesome as well and the legs are narrower. I have five pairs of those and absolutely love them. I've had those for 3 years and haven't pilled, so I'm not sure what a lot of people are complaining about. For the record, I have 8 pairs of the pants as well. I can't get enough of these. Super comfortable. I am 5'4" and about 55-60 lbs and pear shaped. Don't iron without a cloth over it. They will get scorch marks if the iron is too hot. I give the pants and bermuda shorts a rating of 5.

Lightweight and very comfortable. Would have preferred them in a true khaki color - this is pretty much BROWN (- meh!) The one real disappointment, and the loss of a star: the 'drawstring' is elastic, not a woven/no-give band, so there is no sense of snugging it around your waist. Whoever had that les-than-bright idea needs a D'Nozzo smack to the back of the head.

Material is cheap, rough, harsh on the skin. Couldn't wear a shirt or long pants of this material. But okay for shorts because my underwear protects my skin. Shorts are loose and comfortable with 2 large zippered front pockets that even my cell phone fits into. Don't use the back pockets,. Everything will fall out of them.

Very comfortable for hiking in merciless humidity. Previous pairs lasted forever without as much pilling and top stitch unravelling a a the Vista Camp Pants.

These shorts are SO comfortable that I have 5 pairs! They're super light & cool in hot weather and easy care. Maybe they're not sexy, but they're not bad. (I wear them for house and yard work in summer.)

Great shorts and well made, however the fabric is a bit too slippery for my needs.

I bought a pair of these shorts last year and absolutely loved everything about them - the fabric, the fit, the ease of care. So this year I decided to buy two more pair. When I received them, they seemed rather large, so I held them up against last year's pair. The new ones, even though the tags said they were the same size, were 2" wider in the waist. They were also a couple inches shorter, but are definitely the 6" advertised. I returned them both for the next size smaller, and they are the same waist size as last year's. Maybe last year's were marked wrong? Either way, I'm now happy with all three pairs.

Comfortable and well made shorts. A bit baggier than I'd like, so I should have ordered a size smaller.

Love everything about these except on the first wearing, a pulled thread/snap appeared on the back side. I did nothing unusual wearing them and don't recall anything that could have snagged them. Otherwise, love the fabric, feels silky, love the zipped pocket, perfect length. will buy again.

These shorts are very comfortable. They aren't too long or too short. I do think that when it's hot out they stick to you a little. I haven't walked or hiked in them yet so I'm not sure if they will ride up but I have a feeling they might just because I wore them on a really hot day and just walking inside to get a drink they stuck to me and I had to pull them down a bit. Not a huge dealI'm still going to wear them on a walk/hike to see if my theory is correct. That's the only reason I took a star off. Very stylish, comfy, washed nicely.

Nice lightweight shorts. Zipper pockets ensures stuff doesn't fall out. There is a fly flap in front, where a zipper should be but isn't. Seems a bit odd. Also, could just be my pair, but on left side, there's a scratchy section of stitching which irritates skin. Thought maybe one of those plastic tags was imbedded- nope. Washes well, hang dry. Would buy again.

Love almost everything about these shorts - the fit, the pockets, the length. What I don't like is that with a price around $65, the material seems good, until it begins to 'pill'. Despite the inherent material flaws, I have purchased 8 pairs and would buy more if you had more color choices!! I don't like that the colors you offer are so dark and blah! How about some light neutrals like white and light gray and some pastels - Please!!!

The first time I bought these shorts I washed them with several towels and the shorts ended up pilling rather badly. Since I used them for swimming mostly, it didn't matter. With the purchase of these shorts I made recently, I decided ahead of time to hand wash these shorts when dirty instead of throwing them in the washer with other clothes that might make them pill. A certain amount of pilling happens just from wearing them, but I have found that hand washing these shorts doesn't take long and doesn't seem to make the shorts pill at all. These shorts dry quickly as well. They are very comfortable and light and perfect for very hot days.

Comfortable fit. Like the drawstring waist, allows for them to not sink down off hips if there are heavy items in pockets. They do have a little issue with static cling though.

I love these shorts, but why are the drawstrings so long!? I've bought these in a different color a couple years ago and the drawstrings were shorter. They are comfortable shorts and great for summer.

These are perfect for those really hot days-very lightweight and comfortable. I wish they were just an inch or two longer but not as long as the Bermuda length. I knew they ran a bit large so I purchased medium instead the large I wear in other shorts.
