Shorts are light and comfortable. Like the gray color. Easy wash and wear.

Love these shorts. I now have 5. Like to wear them when I go kayaking because they dry so quickly and are very comfortable.

These shorts are perfect: they fit well, wash & dry easily, and above all, THEY HAVE SO MANY POCKETS! I can put my wallet, keys, and phone in these pockets and have more room (and pockets!) left over. I don't need a purse when I wear them! These get my highest recommendation. Aside: there are capris in this same style, but for some reason the capris don't fit my body type correctly. The shorts do, though!

I have every color of these shorts available. I love them!!! Need more colors. Also why is the Vista Trekking Skirt not offered in a size 20 like these shorts are?

These shorts are awesome!! I bought them last year for a camping trip and they were so comfortable that as soon as I got home, I ordered another pair in a different color and the pants! I do find they fit big and ordered a size down. They are so lightweight that they are very cool in the tropics and dry extremely quickly. Also the perfect choice for travelling because they are so light and don't easily wrinkle! Am back to buy another pair!

I needed a new pair of hiking shorts, and went to my local L.L. Bean Store to try some on. It's a good thing that I did, since these shorts ran several sizes larger than the comfort trail shorts/pants. I tried on a pair of comfort trail shorts in size 10, and while they fit in the waist, they were baggy in the rear and legs. Besides, I wanted something in a lighter material. I ended up with these shorts in a size FOUR! They fit great, and were very comfortable on a recent 9 mile hike. However, there should be more consistency in sizing. If I hadn't had a store close to me, I would have spent a lot of time re-ordering shorts. As an aside, when I spoke to someone online and give them my measurements, they suggested I order a size 12. Obviously there is something seriously wrong. I don't care what size I end up with, as long as the product fits.

I first purchased the Vista Trekking Shorts because I am a woman who does not carry a purse so I look for pockets. These shorts are not short on pockets! Love all of them and the fact that they zip closed for security. These are so perfect that I purchased 2 more in different colors. They really are all I wear. LL Bean's customer service is fantastic, also. When one of the zippers broke on my original pair (after about 2 years) they replaced them for free!!!! They have something called the 'Quick Exchange' that allows you to purchase a new pair, send back the old pair, and they reimburse you totally. How's THAT for service!!

These are the best shorts I have ever owned! The fit is perfect. The fabric is so soft you feel like you could be in your pj's, and yet they are sturdy. The shorts are flattering to the figure. They dry quickly and wash up well. I just couldn't be any happier!

This garment is wonderful. It's lightweight, flexible, the inseam is long enough that they do not ride up, there are plenty of pockets, the length is perfect, and it fits like it was made just for me. It is appropriate for going for a walk, doing yard work, meeting a friend for lunch, running errands, or just to look nice while staying at home. They would also make a perfect item to bring along on vacation as they weigh very little and take very little room to pack, and are so versatile.These are really a great buy.

Just got back from a 33 mile hike in Lake Tahoe... these shorts were awesome! Light weight, super comfortable, and lots of pockets that were very convenient!! Will buy another pair and highly reccomend them for any outdoor excursion!

I love the fabric these shorts are made of. It is light and comfortable but seems durable. Great combination! They are cut well for me although I could have went down a size, but they are very comfortable and don't fall off me. I appreciate the little extra room in the waist. I would love them in a few more colors.

I reside in a hot, humid climate and found these shorts to be the ones I always pull out of my closet. ( I purchased them in every color) They're light weight, wash very well and the sizing is accurate. So far they have also worn well and are sturdy for such a light weight material.

for these shorts. Fabric is very light and stretchy, but the shorts are roomy in the hips and legs so they don't hug to the body. I got them for hiking, but I wear them all the time now. They come out of the washer and drier like new--the seams don't shrink. The pockets are adequate to the needs of a day hike and there are loops for a belt at the waist. Best of all, and though the waist is dropped, the shorts never feel as is they are falling off, even with full pockets.

Best hiking shorts that I have owned. Not binding around the waist. If between sizes these run just slightly large. Plenty of pockets with zippers. Great for travel as they dry quickly.

These shorts are nice looking and the fit is awesome. Wish they came in even more colors. I have four of the 5 colors. I just don't know if I have the olive green or the other shade of green so I don't know which ones to order...more colors please!!! Navy Blue, Burnt Orange/Rust color, Black

These shorts are light and comfortable. I have the Vista pants, too. These have a nice length (not too long or short) and the waistband is lined.

I recently ordered two pairs of these shorts along with other shorts, a pair of cargo pants and lots of t-shirts. I am returning all the other shorts/pants and have ordered another pair of these along with a pair of the Vista Trekking pants. They are a bit loose in the waist but that works for me with the drape of the fabric that skims my hips and thighs. The fabric is so lightweight and comfortable! I haven't experienced the sheerness problem that others have commented on, probably because the fit is not snug anywhere on my body. I could probably order down a size but I love the way these fit, not tight anywhere, slimming and neat looking. A bit expensive for "play" clothes but I think they'll be worth it.

I searched a long time for woman's shorts that had both decent pockets and decent length! These fit the bill. I work outdoors and do a ton of walking. I have to be able to store everything I need in my pockets. I can do this in these shorts. My Galaxy NOTE 4 fit in the pocket. I had chapstick, car keys, handsanitizer, a pack of gum and my ID and debit card in my zipper pocket. The material is great for super hot days. going to order another pair.

This is the same review I gave for the pant version of these shorts. I always have problems with pants fitting my long rise. I have been searching for a hiking pant that works for my fit problem. I always order a size up to get the rise long enough. But that has not worked on other LL Bean hiking pants until I tried these. Although I did order a size larger than usual, the stride is perfect for me. I also love the light weight fabric and stretch. I know I will enjoy these. Plan to order another color!!

I like these shorts so much that I gave up waiting for more colors and bought a second pair in the tan. I really like the light weight, but sturdy fabric. Just toss in the washer and on low in the dryer - no shrinkage and no wrinkles. The waist has a soft mesh lining. There is a snap and zipper closing. And the pockets are deep enough to let you carry a few essentials (like a cell phone and your keys). The length falls just right on the thigh. Buy your regular size.

These are wonderful shorts. I bought them in 3 colors. Zippered pockets galore, light. I can wear them for hiking, golf or working out. I did have to send my usual size back for one smaller, however.

Although these shorts are designed for hiking, they don't "look" like hiking shorts. I like them as casual wear. The inseam is a bit longer than on most LL Bean shorts, and I find the length to be flattering. Appreciate the lightweight fabric as I live in an area that is quite hot and humid during the summer. They fit fine, but a belt is a must.
