It's hard to find shorts that are higher waisted. I also like pockets and cargo pockets for when I go walking. These fit the bill. The material is a little lightweight and can snag, but I like a wicking material which these are. I have all five colors. This year's Royal Plum is very pretty and on sale right now!

These shorts are so light and comfortable that I wear them everywhere. The weather has been very hot and humid and these are perfect for outdoor activities. I just wish they came in more colors.

I really like how cool this fabric is. It's breathable and moisture-wicking. The fit is great. These shorts launder well too. They have great zip pockets for storage.

I have been searching for two years for a pair of hiking shorts that had zippered pockets and light weight quick dry fabric. These are perfect! They wash very well and I hope to use them for years and will buy another pair because they are that good.

I adore these shorts! They are so light weight, cool on these hot muggy days, don't stain and they are durable. I have one in each color -- I only wish they came in more colors!

I bought size 6 and loved these shorts so much that I immediately bought two more in different colors. They are literally so comfortable I don't feel like I have anything on. These shorts are cute enough to wear everyday with a cute top because the side pockets are not big like a cargo short. Yet, these shorts are rugged enough to bring camping / hiking with me. I wish they came in more colors....the plum is my favorite.

So lightweight and functional! I got these right before Boston's shelter in place, and when it got hot and humid & I had no gym to retreat to, these were perfect for my daily walks on hilly sidestreets! They carry my cell ph, id, keys well! I have the plum in 14, and would love another pair in 12. I was losing weight, near goal, and misjudged my size but still wear these WELL!

These shorts fit me great! Actually, I might have gone down a size to an 8 but they are roomy without being baggy. The fabri they are made of is very breathable and the most sweat resisting shorts I have ever had. Oh there are so many pockets, freeing me from having to have a fanny pack to carry my phone or sunglasses. These are the BOMB! I got gray. I might go back for another color. Pricey but beyond anything I have owned before. I wear them for hiking and walking.

These are FANTASTIC. It gets downright hot where I live but those days are also prime for hiking the foothills, paddling the river or sitting on a patio with a cold beverage. These shorts can handle it all! The material is VERY light and feels as though it would wick sweat and dry water very quickly (haven't tested either yet). I found the pockets to be of ample size and my phone fits into each of the zippered pockets just fine, even with its protective case on! (Samsung S10 for reference) I ordered the plum color and they are vibrant and would pair nicely with a slightly more dressed up top to transition to a casual outing instead of an outdoor adventure.

Another reviewer mentioned that these Vista Trekking Shorts were much better than the Comfort Trail Shorts and the reviewer was 100% right. The waistband is much better on the Vista Trekking. The Comfort Trail shorts are too fitted (even with setting it on the most generous setting) than the Trekking Shorts. When you are hiking, the fit on the Vista Trekking short is just more comfortable. The fabric is great and dries super fast. The only shortcoming is that I wish there were more/better colors for this short. I have two Comfort Trail shorts, so I already have those colors and would like something different, like Navy or white. Highly recommend and would buy more if better/not duplicate to Comfort Trail colors.

I have several pairs in different colors - very comfortable. Only wish the zippered pocket was a little longer so my phone would be more secure.

The shorts are a great fit, comfortable. I wanted a lot of pockets and they have a lot. I would recommend these shorts to everyone

These shorts fit so well and they are cool in the heat. I highly recommend them for everyday or hiking.

Just got my first pair today and love, love, love them. They fit like a glove. Nothing fits me like a glove. I took the advice of others and ordered a size down from what I would normally order and am glad I did. I will be ordering another pair in a different color.

I bought these for a trip that didn't happen but find myself wearing them as everyday shorts. I like the fit and the pockets deep enough for my iPhone. I love the adjustable waist feature as I am an apple shape and have trouble with tight waistbands. I only wish they were a bit longer.

I have more of a straight torso and these shorts fit great. They look nice and are flattering. They are so comfortable. I got the purple color and love it. I will be purchasing more colors. I am a young athletic 63 year old who likes not having to wear "mature" looking shorts. These can be worn by any age.

I mostly wear LLBean petite medium/petite10 but in these shorts, I size down to an 8. I do have a curvy build with very big, powerful quads and a small waist. I love the freedom of movement in these, the length is great for me and love the beltloops because I have a small waist. What also makes these so great beyond the flattering drape of these shorts, are the details such as the durability and quick dry nature of these light as a feather shorts, the wide soft interior waistband material and the many pockets.

I love these shorts so much I bought a second pair in a different color. They are light weight and attractive in appearance. I bought them for hiking but I like them so much that I wear them around town.

I wanted these for a very hot climate. They were perfect: fit well, had useful pockets, and washed and dried quickly. Exactly what I needed.

I purchased these shorts in olive 6 weeks ago. Have worn them on vacation. Pack well. Super light weight, but durable. Pockets are great for active wear. Able to move around easily and are long enough to cover my thighs without being too snug. Just what I was looking for!!
