Perfect for running and just about anything casual.

After researching and testing lots of hikers and trail runners, this one was one of my two "go to's" for an 8 day walk on the Camino Frances. The Lone Peak, a favorite for many, was too flat for me. This one has great cushioning and fits my regular heel and medium+ forefoot perfectly! The roomy toe box is just right for wearing toe socks liners and cushioned socks to protect my feet - no blisters or hot spots after 95 miles! I didn't have any issues with the soles as mentioned by others. And thanks Altra for offering large sizes for women in great colors, it's so nice to be included!

I love this shoe even more than the Lone Peak's I have been wearing. Just the right amount of cushion, and no "sloppy" feel. Fits mostly true to size, though I feel like I might try 1/2 size up on my next pair. Haven't had any toe issues yet, but it feels like it might get too small doing a super long event. Love how the upper fits!!! I have high arch and high instep.

I'm a dental hygienist with a very fast pace work environment and I'm on my feet often, love the support I have when I'm wearing these!

In love! I got the white ones and they are the prettiest shoes in my collection. I will be getting a darker color for trails. In comparison to the Olympus 4, they are a titch narrower and a titch shorter. Not a complete half size. The support in the back of the shoe was much needed when compared to the 4. These feel much more supportive around my entire foot and ankle. Did I mention they are beautiful! Broke them in around the house for 2 weeks. First run this morning and it was awesome!

I've been buying Olympus for years, and I was a little concerned about this iteration because of some of the reviews, but I decided to give it a try. The padding around the collar feels snug but very comfortable, and the big pull tab in the back doesn't rub at all. I am very happy with this version of Olympus, which feels just as comfy on my feet as previous ones. A+, would recommend!

My previous Olympus always felt a little big,had to wear thicker socks,these new Olympus feel snugger and great, the shoes gives my toes room, but my heel doesn't slip out etc. nice and light but great rugged sole for trails .

Years ago I gave up trying to find a good trail running shoe that would provide enough cushion along with extra stability off road. My road runners are size 7.5 Brooks Glycerin, and yes, I really do need *that* much cushion. Lately however, my dogs and I have been spending our weekends wogging around Delaware's robust state park trails, so I decided to try again. I'm so glad I did! I wear a size 7 in this shoe, and I could not imagine a more perfect trail runner for my gimpy little feet. Please don't change a thing about this shoe!

I love these shoes so much....I have multiple pairs of the Olympus 5. I have neuropathy from spinal issues and these shoes work so well....I was able to walk in NYC on a recent trip there...for miles!

I purchased the Raspberry color and love them. Definitely better then the last model. Thank you for making a bright color as when you are running and looking at the ground it's nice to have some color energy!

I like shoes for trails- but forget they are half size smaller than my hokas . So I can only use on shorter runs . Next time maybe I'll remember to size up a half

I am an avid hiker, but with age my body is breaking down easier. After the second foot surgery, I really struggled to find shoes that were comfortable, wide, supportive, and as close to zero drop as I could find. Just as I was about to give up I found Altras. Now I'm back to hiking, thanks!

I use the product for daily gym sessions ranging from heavy weightlifting to cardio running on pavement short distances. I liked the feel for toe box in Olympus 4 better.

I've worn the Olympus 5 for a few weeks and my pair are comfortable and provide good support. Construction is sturdy. For over a year I've really enjoyed wearing the Olympus 4. By comparison my 5 pair has the same length and room around the toes as the 4. Space between eyelets is wider on the 5 than the 4 so laces can just barely tie. But they stay tied and overall fit and comfort of my 5 is good.

Wide widths are not really too available in Altra shoes. My first pair was the Paradign 7 and they're very comfortable but the blue is the only wide choice. I found these black & purple Olympus 5's and thought they really cute, but before ordering, I contacted customer service to see how the "original" (widest without being called wide) would feel compared to the wide width, and was assured they would be the same. I ordered, and could tell immediately by looking at them that they were much narrower. I sent them back, ordered up 1/2 size and removed the insole, and they feel pretty good. Would really love more wide widths with more color options.

I have worn Olympus for many years. Bought the light blue one this time and Altra changed the shoe. The heel is no longer supportive. For an unknown reason it is much shorter in height. My heel feels unsupported. Why change a good thing. It WAS the perfect shoe! Unbelievably I have been considering changing to HOKAs.

I wear them every day. I wear a different pair each day. I buy the same size but there is always one pair that feels shorter than the others. This last time I bought 3 pair then a few weeks later I bought 3 more pair.

I was looking for a trail shoe with more cushion after wishing my Lone Peak 7 had just a touch more. I do really like this shoe and the increased cushion. Color options are good, and I really appreciate the heel loop for pulling the shoes on. My only complaint--and I thought I was alone in this--is hating the sharp edge of the tongue, which I another reviewer has mentioned. Take the kindness of the heel pull and apply it to the tongue, please!

Altra ( and most every other show out there....). Why aren't you offering this and so many others in a 11.5? Do you think that half sizes just stop at 10.5? That doesn't make any sense!!!! I tried the 11 in this and it's just too close to the end for comfort on the trail, but the 12 was too big. Just felt like it was going to be clunky with such a large shoe. I love your Olympus and I have been able to make others work with minimal injury to my toes, but I need that 11.5. Please consider offering this in all your big shoes!!!!! I shout Altra praises from the roof tops, got my family hooked and have owned around 8 pair. Please consider that 11.5!!!!!
