I've been a long time user of the Escalante. The front section is a little more rigid than the 2.5 but I like the structure. Unfortunately, after less than 5 runs, I left my new shoes on the curb, after changing into sandals. Not the shoe designs fault, gonna have to bite the bullet and reinvest.

I have been wearing Altra escalante 1.5 for a few years...I did not like the escalante 2 at all! I am loving the plush feel of the escalante 3! Easy to get on and off! Lots of room in the toe box, as usual for Altra!

I'm an OR nurse on my feet all day. These shoes are so comfortable. I love the wide toes in them. They make my feet so happy! Would & will be buying another pair!

So far I've put about 20 miles on these and I'm really enjoying them so far. I prefer firmer feeling shoes, so these are great compared to previous models of Escalantes that always felt just too squishy/soggy to me. I was previously running (half marathon training) in the Vanish XCs, which were super firm and thin. These are obviously less thin, but their stiffness is on point. Very smooth ride so far.

I was a true fan of the Escalante 1.5 until I could literally not find them anywhere in the world in my size any longer. After trying several other Altra style I was so discouraged. Until these! The width feels great, the toe box feels great, and the tongue doesn't slice my foot. They don't feel as cushioned as the 1.5s but there is enough to make my knees happy. I've run over 100 road miles in them so they've been well tested.

Best Escalante yet! Plenty of cushioning, with a nice ground feel. Wide enough to give room, but not so wide that it feels sloppy. SUPER cute color-way - go women!

I've been a loyal Altra customer for the past five years and find it difficult to find another shoe as comfortable for my activities and training. I got so excited about the Fierce Color scheme on these - more combos like this please Altra! They are comfortable for pavement running for me. I do think the sole is more like the 2021Torin and so was a little different than the cushioning I'm used to with the last 3 models of Escalante. But I liked it! The bottoms are built sturdier so the rounded portion of the heel doesn't tear away. However, I would consider this a different shoe than the Escalante. Feels like a Torin-Escalante hybrid.

The 8-1/2 felt too small. The 9 is very comfy, almost too big in the toe area. The flatter sole makes my balance seem better and keeps my heel step first easier. I just started wearing them yesterday.

LOVE these running shoes. Light weight, but comfortable cushioning. Natural shape of the foot, no bulk. Perfect.

I absolutely love these shoes. I was first drawn to them because of the fun pattern, but once I tried them I was happily surprised that they were just as comfortable. As for the sizing, I luckily had a friend who had bought altra before and suggested I buy half size smaller than I normally wear (8). This shoe is pretty wide so even with a 7.5 I still feel like I have some room

I've had this shoe for about 2 weeks and I've worn it every day. Very comfortable and great for both road runs and everyday use. Also the colors are amazing, I got the Navy and have gotten so many compliments.

I've been a big fan of the Escalante over the years, and the 3 is no exception. It's definitely a little less stretchy in the upper, but I think it just makes the shoe more versatile because it holds the foot better. Great for the gym, a run, or casual wear. I have the Fierce special edition and I get comments on how great it looks every time I wear it!

I'm a big fan of Altra shoes and have tried many of the different styles from hiking, running and every day wear. I really like the escalate for every day west because they are light ( less cushion than other models like the torin I wear for running distance) I'm really happy to see fun colors and patterns and I'm very pleased with the fit , function and style of these shoes

I have so much trouble finding running shoes that don't irritate my Morton's neuroma, and I am so excited to find these shoes. I noticed the difference immediately- no need to break them in. These shoes have let the inflammation in my feet die down, and I have doubled the distance I can go before I feel pain. I wish they had a smidge more padding and a higher volume to contain my high arches- I get pretty bad lace bite with these. And speaking of laces- ugh, please, why is it so hard to get laces that stay tied?? These issues are minor compared to the improvement in my feet since I got these. I am considering getting another pair just for daily, non-running use.

I've owned every iteration of the Escalante. A few I haven't totally loved. This is not one of them. Be wary of reviews that say anything about the upper being sick like or the foot shape feeling weird or the cushioning off. You need to be used to a minimalist style shoe to appreciate the escalate. I've struggled with stress fractures and over pronation for many years. Until I switched to the escalante that is! The 3 solved many issues of the past including heel slipping. Just like the other versions I've had zero break in period. I love the three! Don't let the bad reviews scare you, there's a 30 day trial, so you can get all your runs in and then decide and I'm betting your body will thank you!

I use these for running and also for working. I find them supportive AND cushioned, which is a difficult combination to get. My heel is securely locked in place while my forefoot has plenty of room.

Have been an Escalante purist since only running in Altra. With the Escalante 3 they've finally swapped to flat-laces, so finally less frequently laces untying on the run. Seems to be a bit more cushion in the 3s than I remember the 2s having. The upper feels like there is more fabric than before and less stiff than the 2s. Bottomline - yes, it's different than the prior version and still works for me to provide 0 drop cushioning while still have some rebound from the ground.

I usually wear a 7.5 in a running shoe but needed a 7 in these. It may have to do with the front being so wide for the toe splay. The 7.5 was bunching up where it bends and seemed like too much shoe for me in that area so I tried the 7 and that solved the big shoe feel in the front. These are really comfortable and feel like I don't really have shoes on. I wear them all day after I run because it feels like I am barefoot but have protection on my foot. My times are fast when I run and they offer pretty good support. If you run a lot of miles everyday, you may need to alternate with a more supportive shoe unless you really like that low profile racer type feel then these will be good for you. I don't use the last shoestring hole at the top because it seems too snug and pulls too much across the top of my ankle. I have a high arch so could use more arch support for me but other than that, these are comfy. Glad they offer these in white!

At first when I went to the site, they were sold out of Fierce size 9. I was pretty disappointed and decided to think over an alternate color. After a couple of weeks, I returned and to my surprise Fierce size 9 was available! It fits really well. I'm thrilled with my purchase. I use the Escalante for running and in the gym.

I beg to differ on all these poor reviewsif you're doing any kind of running that includes speed intervals/twists and turns, these are wonderful because they take the cushion and lightweight aspects of the previous Escalante and add a little more stability so your foot is less likely to slide around inside the shoe. I also never have to adjust the tongue on this shoe, which I often have to do with the older versions. Also, the sole redesign is built to last! Love the Fierce color combo!!

I been wearing these since v1 and my favorite was the 1.5s but this version is a bit different but a dream to run in they havehaded little bit of width and stiffness and it allows me to run feeling a bit more stable. Not everyone agrees but I love them ,they fit my foot perfectly length and width. thank you altra!

I've been running in the Escalante for 2 years now. They've become my go-to sneaker to grab for a run. This version, while, yes, has it's slight differences, still feels great on my feet. I went with my normal size, and no issues.
