I had toe surgery back in April of last year with a plate and screws put in. Going from having the my feet scanned at a chained store which put me in a mizuno wave rider didn't help. I Continued with foot pain and also purchased the Nike Peg 39 which has been a good show but still presents problems with my feet due to the drop. The Torin6 has been a blessing to my feet with just enough cushion and stability. I have not had any issues with my feet since wearing these for daily use and running. The only issue with the shoe is the gusset on the left shoe twists up on me when I insert my foot into the shoe. I'm thinking this is a defect. Overall I am satisfied except for the gusset issue.

Ordered 2w. Not sure if was needed because of the existing wide shoe box of the shoes.

After wearing multiple Torin 4's to their end as well as a couple pairs of Rivera's, I am now enjoying the Torin 6. I like the overall feel of the upper, sole cushion and the lace quality.

Have Torin 4.5s that fit great. Bought Torin 6s in the same exact size and they are too small (LENGTH), and at least out-of-the-box-before break-in feel like some will find them a little snug across the mid-foot.

Love the midsole and fit of these shoes. Im on my 30th pair of Altra's and I just don't understand why they made the tongue sharp so that it causes a weird blister or chafe spot on the leg. I like to wear small socks but I have to wear taller socks to avoid rubbing my leg on the sharp edge of the tongue. I noticed this is their new go to tongue. Need to get away from it for sure. The rest of the torin 6 is great love it

I would recommend this shoe if you like a solid even shoe. I liked the even-ness of the shoe, it was stable for running outside. It was a little small for the size though

I really love the shoe however they are definitely not true to size. I normally an wear a size 11 but could barely get these on. Once I did get them on though they are very comfortable and supportive.

I use my Torin 6 for road runs. I run 20+ miles a week in them. The shoes are holding up great so far and I'm very satisfied with the cushioning. They are a very comfortable shoe. My only gripe is I wish they came in better color schemes, other than that I'm very pleased with my purchase. I also have the escalante racers in black and love those also.

Still early to review any further on the shoe. Other comments: the 10% discount did not work and customer services was no help. The size 14 was too small and when I sent them back I missed the fact that you don't automatically send the larger size as I requested. I waited 10 days and called and was told and then placed another order.

Love these shoes. Own two different colors, but one came with laces too long and not a huge fan

These shoes are very comfortable with lots of width for the forefoot and toes Felt very planted and stable with walking, running, lifting, etc. I would probably go with a 9.5 instead of a 9 for these shoes based on length, but they still work great. After running a few times one corner of the sole on the left shoe started to separate. I think it was just based on rub and isn't a big deal. I used a little shoe glue, and they are as good as new. Great all-around shoe.

This pair is a good option for running or jogging. Overall it is a great pair, it fits great around the feet. My finger next to the toe is longer than the toe so at times it hits the shoe border but otherwise a good comfortable pair of shoes. The sole cushioning provides comfort while running & helps to stay active for longer periods. The foot shape from the front is quite wide and lets the toes and feet well spread. They are not squeezed, unlike regular running shoes.

I love these sneakers. I've been running with them and they are extremely comfortable they hug your foot without feeling tight. It literally feels like the shoe becomes one with your foot. I've had Nike and Adidas runners and I also like those but the Altra Torin 6 is in a different class. The only complaint I have is that they make a squeaky noise walking on tile floor.

I used to run 4 miles a day but I had strained my calf muscle running with a reputable pair of running shoes. I took a month off, ran twice and strained it again. I took another month off and received the Torin 6 running shoes to test out and review, I've now run several times in the Torin 6 and have had no issues with my calf or any other muscle. My runs have felt smooth and I feel confident and we'll balanced in the shoes.
The shoes felt a bit stiff when I first started in them, I do have wider feet but overall I don't feel uncomfortable with the width. The ankle area feel a bit of an elastic feel - similar to my son's soccer cleats, I was suspect at first but now I like that component when putting them on. I will be wearing these over my other running shoes that I've sustained a few running injuries with.

I have wider feet and I feel this product is pretty good in my tests so far. It has nice cushioning and the unusual shape allows for some room in my feet. However, under more strenuous use it seems to be slightly too narrow for my feet, but I think people in the medium to narrow range would find it quite comfortable. Nice amount of support around the foot for running, jogging, and walking, and the fact that these are super breathable makes them eminently wearable for exercising in. Very grippy on the soles as well, so would be good for a variety of weather and track conditions. The styling is decent but could be hit or miss depending on the person. I tend to like them myself, and most of the time I don't care much anyway because of their comfort.

Since front of my feet is too wide it's really difficult to find comfortable shoes that won't be painful for my feet while running. These shoes are perfect for me since they are wider than other shoes at front and the overall feel is not loose. Torin 6 are perfect shoes for running and daily workout. I wish they were little better looking.

I have only worn these shoes for two days now and the toe cap has creased in on the left foot. Although annoying it does not hurt now...I imagine if I were running in these shoes it might. I'm sure it's just a fluke as every other pair of Altras I've owned have been perfect.

I liked this shoe more than the paradigm. The heel cushion is great and it's quite comfy. I have about 100 miles on my current pair and there's no sign of wear or damage so far.

This is the shoe I am running in while training for my first marathon, I am very satisfied with it! I had the Torin 5 prior to these, and I like these just as much. Wish there were more colorways though. I didn't experience the tongue issue with the 5 because I wear long socks, but my only complaints with the 6 is the tongue is maybe too thin and some of the stitchings are a little weak. Going to buy my race pair shortly!

These are great. Much better than the Torin 5s. The jacquard knit upper lends itself to a more sock-like feel, similar to the 4.5 Plush. The tongue is much improved over the ankle-eating abominations that were on the 5s, but it still could be better. Altra would have been smarter to just carry over the tongue design from the 4.5 Plush (also on the Olympus 4) with the anatomically placed cut-out.

Had 8.5 2E in the Torin 5 and had to go to an 8 2E in the new Torin 6. And though Altra made a small adjustment to the tongue from the razor sharp 5, the tongue on the 6 still rubbed me raw. Thought they would have gone with a tongue like they have on the Torin 5 Luxe, but they didn't. Still a great shoe, you just have to wear a little higher covering socks.

I've been running 50-60 miles per week in Altra Torins for the past 5 years, starting with the Torin 2.0. The original wide toe box that I came to love about Altra's has definitely been getting more narrow with each new shoe and the Torin 6 is the most narrow yet! In addition, the change in tongue design and higher heel collar took some getting used to, but it hasn't been an issue. With that said, the Torin 6 is a decent shoe which I've already ran about 150 miles in with no major problems. I will be buying another pair even though these aren't my favorite. Hopefully Altra decides to sell some retro models like Nike has been doing...but not for style, rather those of us who miss the feel of the originals :)

Altra Team Red here!
My first Altra shoe was the Torin 4 and it is still one of my favorites.
I could not do the Torin 5 due to the sharp tongue despite the rest of the fit being nice.
These shoes bring it back to that comfort of the Torin 4 and I do like the new heel collar that has been added. I do wish they could do the Torin 6 heel collar with a Torin 4 tongue. The thick cushy tongue was not a broken feature for a daily trainer road shoe and I would love to see that come back..
Had I never had the Torin 4, I would give this shoe 5 stars...
If I could choose in between I would give it 4.7 stars as there is nothing wrong with the shoe to me, just love the Torin 4 tongue!
