The Torin 6 is very comfortable and great to run in but the tread starts peeling off after a month. I went through two thinking it was a fluke with the first pair, but it wasn't. This also happened with the latest version of the Altra Escalante Racer. I've been buying Altra's for years and whatever glue they switched to in 2019 or 2020 to adhere the tread is awful, I won't buy Altra's again until they make some sort of statement or recall.

The fit (length and width) work well for me. Plenty of toe box room. My issue is they make my feet go numb. I have tried various socks and lace tension. After about 2 miles my feet are numb. This is my first pair of Torins. I have two pairs of Timp 3s and do not get the numb feet issue with them. Disappointed, I was hoping for a great set of road running shoes.

This is my 3rd and final pair of torins. Altra quality has continued to decline over the last couple years. Upper mesh is developing several holes after 2 months of daily use.

Shoes fell apart after one moth of light use. Horrible customer service. I will never purchase from Altra again. They called it wear and tear after the soles were falling off in one month. Absolutely terrible experience.

I bought these shoes and immediately fell in love with them. However, after a month of fair use, the tread is already starting to detach from the outsole, causing me to trip with almost every step.

While the shoes are comfortable. After wearing them on my the SECOND TIME the soles are coming apart. They were worn walking through an Amtrak station and an airport. And pieces fell off. Terrible construction.

The Torin 4.5 Plush were the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. These new Torin are completely different fit. Much narrower across the board, I notice it most around heel and midfoot. The heel of the 6 Wide version is still narrower than the 4.5. I tried finding Torin 4.5 after returning the 6s, but even the later production Torin 4.5 I was able to find are narrower than the original ones I got (couple mm narrower when placing the shoes against each other, and lower volume upper). Seems Altra changed the 4.5 mid production? Looking for alternate because Altra seems to have moved away from what made them popular I would love nothing more than being able to buy the original Torin 4.5 best shoe I ever had! Why change a shoe so many loved?

I gave this shoe a month. This is my 4th pair of Torins but first of the 6 model. They did some funky stuff with the inside. It's got two straps on the inside of each shoe that bunch up and make it unbearable. The straps stretch out and actually fold over when you insert your foot. Terrible design. Bring back the older model.

Disappointed in how Altra missed the mark here such a pivotal piece to how the foot and shoe should work together. When screening these for defects, didn't even make it past the first one I check which is the break pattern. Took these back to a local running specialty store and check another of their pair and a Rivera they had. Ended up with another brand altogether. Both break patterns were far too posterior to function well with the foot. As a PT specializing in runners, I would encourage finding another shoe for now. Loved the 4s! 5's clearly had their issues. Hoping things get corrected in the next iteration and then just left alone. No need to have consistent updates to what is overwhelmingly loved.

The tread is terrible. I had to apply shoe glue within 3 weeks of owning them to hold it together . The tread isn't even lasting 100 miles before they are worn down. One positive note is the tongue isn't cutting me like the last model!

In the last 18 months I have had two pairs of the Torin 4.5 plus(loved everything about them)one pair of all weather lone Peaks(for winter) three pairs of Torin 5(really good and liked the round shoe lace) two pairs of the Torin 5 plush(another great shoe). I'm working on breaking in my Torin 6 and I'm struggling. The other shoes, first run they were comfortable. These I'm two weeks in and still feel very stiff. Also, really don't like the flat laces(difficult to tie and stay tight) and hate the little side tongue flaps. The changes that were made to the back of the shoe are great. I want to like these shoes I'm just struggling and hope it's a bad pair.

Like others have said, the tongue is still an issue. Changing the material only solved part of the problem. While it is no longer made of sharp plastic, drawing blood quickly, it is still poorly designed and uncomfortable. Additionally, they have added this odd, extended heel cup the goes way up the Achilles- just another stiff thing to rub on. Note sure what happened at Altra, but they ought to test these designs before trying to sell them as upper end running shoes. Unfortunately my Torin 3.5s and Torin 4s (which I love) have become unbearably worn and I have had returned both the Torin 5s and Torin 6s I have bought because they are not functional running shoes. Guess it is time to looks for a different shoe from a company that is not completely out of touch. All I have are Altras but they are just no longer a viable option at his level.

I walked one mile and returned them. The tongue slide to inside bringing the shoe with it. The weird shape in the ankle and heel rubbed me raw. The box is tighter. I returned them for some new Topos. Please just go back to 4 design.

Genuinely baffled with the tongue on this shoe. Never saw 1 review that stated the runner enjoyed the sharp tongue that would cut my ankle area while wearing low cut socks. Seems evident that the collection of designers you have are a bunch of clowns by providing a half as fix to the tongue.

Let's just act like the Torin 5 & 6 were never developed. Y'all are lucky I'm such a fan of my Torin 4 Plush. However, I've delayed buying new running shoes, from Altra, for a year now while waiting for the tongue ISSUES to be replaced not just poorly masked with the ridiculous addition that fake "softer material" on the tongue top. I have tried other brands and they just aren't my wonderful Torin 4's. I hope y'all are hemorrhaging money from the stupid tongue choice on the Torin 5 & 6.

The 4.5 was the best, the 5s are better than these as the tongue never bother me. When you get something right why do you keep trying to reinvent it??

I've wornTorin's for years and the 6 is horrible.almost like it's a different shoe entirely. Not sure why Altra can't just leave a shoe alone. The 6 is flimsy, no padding on the tongue and no support. I'm sending them back.

Big fan of Altra. Was hoping with the tongue update these would be spot on. I'm always in between a 10.5 and 11. The 11s were too narrow and too short. My foot in toe box was bulging over the side. Best advice, try on in store or size up a full size. Good luck.

So I've had 3 pairs of the Torin 5. So when the torin 6 was announced I was excited. So when these were finally revealed, the new colorway seems very boring! I'm not a fan of the cushy tongue, so I'm curious to see what this is all about. Otherwise, please re stock the blue torin 5s, I'll buy your stock out.
