I have owned many pairs of Altra Lone Peaks. I bought the Torrin 6 for walking shoes (wearing them 3 or so times a week).
Pros: Comfortable. With a larger stack than the Lone Peaks the Torrin 6 are amazing. They are not as "slipper" feel as the lone peaks (my worn out Lone Peaks are my house slippers), but they fit your foot rather well. I have heel Spurs and Achilles tendon issues (and super wide midfoot including my toes). Doc told me to try Altras. They are amazing.
Cons: the fabric on the torn 6 has torn or separated in many spots to include the top, sides, and the glue points of the souls. My daughter had the same issues with her woman Torrin 6 (she is on her feet all day at work and loves the shoes but they didn't hold up)
So, for me, after two months and three-ish days a week of wear (about 3-4 miles a day when I did wear them), the Torrin six did not hold up.
Customer service was amazing. I was able to get a gift code for a replacement pair within 48 hours. I am going against my better judgment and trying the Olympus 5 when I know I should just get Lone Peaks again (my lone peaks have had zero issues over the years).
Note: I do not run in my shoes. Walk, hike, and wear for work (office work).

I just started wearing these shoes and they are comfortable. I am still breaking them in with walking and some gym time. It's only been 4 weeks but just noticed that both heels are starting to wear through. New gardening shoes as they don't seem appropriate for anything more.

Initially the best running shoes I've evern owned, but quickly fell out of love. After ~ 6mos, rip/tears began to appear at the toe crease & vamp.
Purchased ~07/2022, 300-600 miles of paved trails

I purchased Torin 6's in November & really loved them, but the upper ripped @ the the ball of my foot after about 3 mos. My replacement pair has started to tear in even less time, only 2 mos.

I wore this shoe on a couple of three mile runs, and it felt pretty dead underfoot. I thought maybe they would work as HIIT shoes, but they were flat out uncomfortable. They'll be in my closet.

Really disappointed after I had started to love these! Used these for only one run and a few weeks of everyday use and already the sole is peeling. Can't imagine these would hold up for longer runs

I have bought Altras (all Torins except for my first) since about 2016. My left knee was giving me issues and realized that I needed new shoes before my marathon (which was less than 2 weeks away) so I quick ordered some Torin 6s that I could try out and get in enough time to break in. The first couple days were great. A couple short runs and some walking and no issue. Same great Torins, but after a longer run the trouble started. There is a strap on the sides that connects a shoestring loop to the bottom of the shoe and it was wearing a crease in my foot and causing severe pain (especially in my left foot). I had never had that happen with Torins. Maybe that strap was there before, but not right over the part of my foot that caused this amount of pain. I could barely wear the shoes. I ran a little more to see if it would go away and no. Since I now have less than a week before the Marathon I went out and bought Torin 7s that did not have that strap (Thank You). Thankfully the store had just gotten them in and had my size. I did not read every review of the 6s so maybe this is a known thing. I had (3) pair of the 5s so I know that they were good and I did not have a single issue with them. They look great still even after they lost the cushioning and support. I actually would have bought another pair of 5s if I could have. I love that shoe. The 7s feel great. I wear orthotics so breaking in the shoe that quickly is seldom an issue. I have every expectation that the 7s will be more than exceptional. I will write a review after Grandmas Marathon this weekend.

Treadmill / Walking after knee surgery. Soles are not glued together well and are coming apart. Unfortunately, the shoes can't handle walking 3.5mph

Wore these on three runs and the midsole - not just the insole, but the midsole - is collapsing under the ball of my foot. As a result, it feels like something (the midsole!) is bunching up under my toes and poking me. Apparently it's common with these bc the foam is cheap. Unreal.

Would have been a great pair of shoes due to the wide toe box but geez, could you have made the mid foot anymore narrow? And the tongue is extremely uncomfortable. This shoe was a fail. It'd be nice to offer all your shoes in the original foot shape.

Bought one pair and loved them; until the upper began fraying off the bottom within 2 months. Then, after buying 2 more pairs on a Christmas sale, they have both frayed in the exact same places after 1-2 months. Just terrible quality.

I was a huge fan of the Torin 4.5 and then starting with the 5's the Torin line lost their plushness. The Torin 6's are actually a decently comfy shoe when you first put them on and walk around, but not so much when you start running in them. I've put 120 miles on the shoe hoping they'd get better after some miles, but they don't.
To start, the tongue is only slightly better than the 5 and folds in on itself in my left shoe when not wearing them. By the end of my run both tongues have fallen to the side. The heel is narrow, stiff, and puts too much pressure on my achilles. So much so that after running in these shoes a while I started getting pain in my achilles. The toe box is not that roomy and the upper presses on the top of my foot. The ride is OK but I had always used the Torins for my long runs and much prefer the ride of the 4.5s.
These issues could very well be because the shoe runs small and narrow, perhaps if I sized up or went with the wide things would be different. Between these and the 5's I've lost excitement for the Torin line. It feels like Altra is trying to do too much with their shoes.

I have been running in nothing but Torin's for the past 3+ years. I bought numerous pairs of the Torin 4's until I couldn't find my size any longer and had to go to the 5's. Tongue was a little different in those, but the foot-feel was still basically the same (once the plastic-y tongue broke in). Kept re-buying 5's until I couldn't find any more and moved to Torin 6.
Something is off about this shoe. It feels noticeably less stable and the footbed is 'weird'. The only way I can describe it is that there are now pressure points in the bottom of my foot that weren't there in versions 4 or 5, and my calves seem to be taking a beating when I run in these. (To test that theory I ran in some other shoes for a few days and did not get the same feeling, but it returned when I put the 6's back on).
I have switched running shoes for now and will wait to see what happens with the Torin 7. I'm fairly disappointed because I loved my previous Altra's.

I absolutely loved my lone peaks. Next was the Escalante and those were eh, ok. These I tried these on, immediately did not like them. Tried walking around my house, no way. Too narrow and too small.

I ONLY used these to run on a treadmill. Both shoes showed excessive wear on the outside of both heels after fewer than 125 miles (the left shoe wearing completely through the black outer sole in one spot). The only shoes I've ever run in that wore almost as quickly than that were Hoka One One shoes, and I was running outside on sidewalks and asphalt in summer in Austin, TX (they lasted about 175 miles and wore poorly over the entire sole, not just the heel). Every other brand of shoes I've run in over the last 10+ years have lasted between 275-400 miles before needing to be replaced (Brooks, Mizuno, Asics, Saucony).

Additionally, on the inside of the left shoe is some kind of strap that rubs against my foot, causing discomfort when I walk or run in the shoes. Comparing it to the other shoe, it looks like something wasn't put together correctly and it's become more noticeable over time.

Altra customer service has provided me the opportunity to utilize their warranty to get replacement shoes, which I appreciate. This is the only thing that earned any stars. After reading the other reviews for this model/style, I will be trying another model/style Altra shoe.

Unfortunately both shoes started to develop tears on the inner side. I love them, too bad they only lasted three months. Was fitted at an authorized dealer too so size is right..Not worth the money

I wear this shoe as an everyday shoe. I've only had them for about 2 months and the material is already ripping. It's an expensive shoe to have this happening.

I have exclusively worn Altras for 6 years now and have enjoyed every pair. Despite the reviews I have these a shot and the sole did start coming apart after 42 miles. Wish they held up like Lone Peak

This is a wonderful shoe when new, unfortunately it did not hold up well. The roomy toebox is amazing, just the right amount of cushion to absorb shock while transmitting road feel, and great little details like the slotted holes which keep the flat laces from twisting over time.
Now the bad... after 5 months, the upper is separating from the sole, the soles are delaminating and in liner in the heel is worn through. I have gotten much better life from other shoes and brands. Bummer

The arch support is ridiculous. Way too much arch support. My feet were hurting after an hour wearing them. I wouldn't have returned the shoe if the arch support wasn't so high.

I Just use the Torin 6s for normal walking. I have had these shoes since Christmas and the back of the heels on the inside has worn out and there are two holes exposing the inside of the shoes. Extremely uncomfortable and honestly very disappointing. I have sold altras before and know them for their comfort but the durability has been frustrating. This is my second pair of altras and both have been underwhelming. At this point I would like a replacement pair for free or I just won't buy this brand again even though I love the brand
